Whats the point in capturing car thieves? The law in the UK do nothing to punish them anyway, even patting them on the head. We need to start locking up scum bag criminals for the rest of their lives.
From the point of retribution and punishment, maybe. The reason you want a graded level of punishment with increasing crime severity is to prevent escalation. If a guy can expect the same punishment for car theft and murder, it makes sense to kill anybody that might get him caught or try to arrest him. But, yeah, letting them go is not right and not effective.
No if we locked up the scum when they first did these crimes they would not be out doing more serious crimes. And lets not forget, if the laws were that severe and someone knew if they burgled someone's home or stole their car that they might get life in prisons 99% of people would not even think about doing it in the first place. People only do crime because they know the penalty will be weak. I see 3 people thumbed down my comment, they must be happy with the crime ridden streets?
There's 1 million people in prison serving an average sentence of 2 yts. Double that in the jail system (who doing a year or less) It costs 40K (less in jail) per year. Average life of offender is ~19 meaning-80 years in prison. Now multiply all that. Add $ it would take to prosecute each criminal(today 95% are plea bargained-) as none would agree to be put in prison for 80 years.
i dont think its more effective, well yes the net stops you right away and spikes slowly flat the tires, but can you imagen a front tire lock going 150 m/h o a pick up, you could kill yourself and others. but yes it would stop you right away.
Brilliant Idea... This puts ninja turtles to shame

This comment has received too many negative votes show
he puts his brakes on. the net isn't stopping him, i would imagine he could go a while before it stopped him.

the net goes all the way across the front end, it spins around unitl it binds the front tires.
hairyknuckle 4 years ago
ofcourse the net is stopping him, it blocks the whole front tires
alejoe84 4 years ago
i call bs, i wanna see him floor it through the net and see what breaks. putting the breaks on is a copout.
p0wn 4 years ago
he doesnt touch the brakes, the spikey thing gets wrapped around the wheels and locks them up,, looks more effective than spike strips
