@DSnWiiRocks i dunno i always get bad breaks (pocket 4-10, pocket 7-10 when pins fly over to other lanes) so erm ya........ my high game 279 though :)
5 7 10, the toughest split ever!!!!! 7 10 requires a bounce to the other side, 5 7 10 requires a bounce to the side and then launching to the other side. A big hook would help as well. However, a lot more hook is required for the 5 7 10. Plus, the 5 7 10 relies on a light ball. The 7 10 does not need a light ball.
It was there, but it was air. But actually, there was a house in Norwalk Connecticut, Rip Van Winkle, where good bowlers would leave the 5-7-10 fairly frequently. It was because the pin decks (the place where the pins sit) were raised a fraction and the ball would lose traction, and maybe even hop, just before it hit the pins. The decks were also made of an artificial substance while the rest of the lane was still wood.
@PeterLovesPurple two ways of making it (as a righty) easiest way is to take out a plastic ball the lighter the better and shoot your 9 pin. If you hit your spot the ball should deflect off the 5 into the 10 while the 5 takes out the 7. Other way is to overhook the ball on the left side of the 5 into the 7 and try and shoot the 5 into the 10
They should've showed the part if Pete Weber had a chance on making the spare for this frame. Is this split makable? I never seen anyone make or leave this split before. I wonder, did Pete make the spare for this shot or which pin did he convert when he left this split? Please let me know.
uhmm get a 6 pound plastic with 500 revs and you can get it buddy... ur sarcasm is pathetic, cuz a 5 7 10 in a 300 game is definitely impossible... a 5 7 10 pick up tho is not impossible.. how? my buddy eric did just that with the 6 :) 2 handed throws do come in handy
sadly I dont, but im bowling tommorow so im taking my camera. Just in case haha. Though, the odds of leaving one are slim so meh. Could be awhile unless I get one of my buds to set it up for me manually. So we will see in the future.
i dont think it would be too hard, especially now with the almight hooking ball like the Seige or Invasion, I think it would be a lot easier than the 6-7-10 anyday
They should've showed the part if Pete Weber would've made the spare. I never seen anyone leave the 5 7 10 split before but, is it a makeable spare? Please let me know if anyone ever made this spare before.
5-7-10 means you've thrown the ball like a homo and deserve to be made fun of. 2 ways to make it, 1 being getting a 6 pound ball and putting a lot of revs on it and hook it across the lane, the ball hitting the left side of the 5 pin and the 5 deflecting into the 10 pin and the ball taking out the 7. Or you can whip the ball 22-23 miles per hour and shoot the 7 or 10 and bounce it out hopefully hitting the 5 and then the 7.
He never got fired. He and Chris Schenkel (as a pair) were on ABC doing these telecasts for 23 years. With the advent of cable television, and other factors, bowling went off of ABC in 1997. Bo was very professional and had insightful comments for the audience.
i had the front 11, on the 12th ball i left it. so yeah. it happens

1997, about the time the PBA was circilng the drain. Also about the time it tried to reinvent itself to look like the WWF.

That was embarrasing! A lot of money on the line and you mistakenly throw a flat ball to get such a nasty result.

u leave a 5-7-10 aka the Lilly from when ur ball hits flat in the pocket
or as it's called in U.K Flat as a pancake
refer to the Chris Barnes and a 5-7-10 split Weber Cup video. also

Gee that's terrible. That's an impossible split to pick up.

it isnt impossible.....ive picked it up before. It just takes a great amount of rev and hitting the 5 perfectly.

@Nofaces Maybe the 5-8-10 can be easy to convert. I did that twice in a row this past winter. I wasn't trying, I just threw it.

i have made it with big hook and a 6 pound ball

In candlepin, it's easy to make the 5-7-10 spare if they use the deadpins.

What's so bad about a 5-7-10 is it just a rookie error that should never be made? it must be impossible to actually hit a 5-7-10 and make a spare
