This game rocks and it's one of the best RB games ever in the series along with RB: Unplugged for PSP. Both RB2 and RB: Unplugged are the greatest RB games ever made and both games are very similar to each other too in terms of gameplay and songs. It's so awesome. So far, I already have RB2 for PS3 and it's one of my most favorite RB games in the series along with RB: Unplugged for the PSP and RB2 is one of my favorite games ever for my PS3 console. I really like RB2 as well as all of its songs.

Only GH3 and I think GH2 does this. GHWT and GH5 only allows you to use the controller when your playing vocals. RB2 does the same so you should get the RB2 bundle. (Yes, and Beatles only allows the controller for the mic)

using the controller allows you to sing on the microphone. they made you use the controller so you can still control the screen even when the microphone doesn't have controls, so you can sign in and such, you will not be able to play an instrument because once you put in, the controller it will think you are singing.

What I did was import Rock Band from the US and then later imported the second one when it came out. You can still buy songs (on PS3 anyway) online by creating a US account and going onto the online store. Only problem is no warranty this way and my guitar did eventually go (1 year later) but I got a 3rd party one for free from a friend's store.

It sucks even more that they were so bad with Australian releases for both games considering that there are a few Aussies working in Harmonix.
