@Drumboy81 - I agry with you 100 % !!! is all about personal taste and ofcourse, personal budget , ha,ha,ha ! @MsMK59 Good for you! :) That's an amazing kit you've got there! But, to keep a constructive debate, the interesting question is why did you choose TAMA Starclassic Elite bubinga and not any of the other top series and brands? Why not birch or maple shells? I'm sure you have your reasons for choosing that particular kit. Would be nice to know...
@Drumboy81 - Thank you ! why Tama ? wel . in first place they bild great drums and second ( very important) , Tama hardware ! best and most practical stuf ! beautiful finishes too ! I owned Swingstar, Royalstar , Starclassic maple , but when I play first time Tama bubinga kit , I was blowned away ! full , rich sound wit tons of bottom end , thats realy my perfect sound I was allways looking for ! I like mahogany kits too ( my old Tama Royalstar , great kit ) . GREETZ. from Holland.

@lowriderz525 hey genius, have you ever gotten a life? seriously, is all you do look for comments on youtube videos for you to trash talk. seriously, grow a pair. im 14 and my best friend has them and trust me, they suck. do some personal and stop being that dumb ass shit head that everybody hates. idiot.
@lowriderz525 hey genius, have you ever gotten a life? seriously, is all you do look for comments on youtube videos for you to trash talk. seriously, grow a pair. im 14 and my best friend has them and trust me, they suck. do some personal and stop being that dumb ass shit head that everybody hates. idiot.
@pearldrumking yeah, i'm the idiot. your 14 and your FRIEND has them. how the drums are tuned has a lot to do with how they sound. that concept might be new to you. and no im not the person that looks to start wars on comments. im the person that calls bullshit on people like you.
@lowriderz525 well played. ill give you that. but honestly, have you ever thought that i MIGHT have a different opinion? GASP!!!! such a STRANGE concept.
@pearldrumking yes, i have but, you didnt state it as an opinion. you stated it like it was a fact. and i personally own a 5 piece ddrum diablo punx and i have it tuned so well it sounds as good as a dw. and its not always the drums, its the drummer. so go watch ray luziers ddrum solo then talk about ddrum. have a nice day.
@lowriderz525 yea, well you made an assumption about my comment. if u really hated it just mark it as spam not waste both of our time cussing me out over youtube. seriously.
However, it's probably a better investment if you get a DW, because they are more wanted and retain their vallue more than Sonor. In my oppinion DW also sounds warmer and fatter. Sonor is a bit loud.
lol i get whatcha mean. i didnt know some of my most favorite drummers are both in DW and Sonor, and besides they dont sell sonor's in guitar center, Sam Ash last time i went there. and i dont want to buy it online
meinl's are the best cymbals around.under them are soultones.only cali drummers can feel me on that one.ummm, drum kits...some pearl stuff sound good, but i' d never put em on top.DW's and Tama's sound sick, but if you suck and tuning your drums and have no money for great heads, then for get about it..it wouldn't matter what brand you bought.umm, frankly, yamaha's suck compared to the others.i hardly have ever played mapex or ludwig so i can't say too much.
last time i checked the zildjian ZHT and ZBTs are amazing and affordable cymbals, the sabain b8s flat out suck, never tried solar, the Xs20s are ok, what i meant by highquality is in sabian only expensive cymbals are good (ex AA, AAX, HHX) and through the expierences ive had i find paiste for the most responsive sound with attack. and yur right i have only owned a Tama and a Pearl set, but ive obviously seen vids on youtube, played them in music sotres, and at friends houses.
I'd say that ZHT, ZBT and b8 are about the same.. i dont say they suck, after all they are better than other brands who make their cymbals out of freakin' plastic or wtf it is.. i own a couple of b8s myself, they are good, but my point was that they arent ''high quality''..
when it comes to testing drums, a music store is not the best place.. i hate playing drums at music stores, cause most of them dont know how to tune them..
ok in my opinion: 1. Pearl 2. DW 3. Ludwig 4. Tama 5. Mapex 6. Yamaha 7. Sonor and so on and so forth..... cymbals: 1. Sabian (high guality only) 2. Zildjian (for affordable cymbals) 3. Paiste (cymbals with attack) ans on and on
i fuckin hate all those huge drum kit...i love the classic ones, like the jojo's one, only a snare,a tom,a timpan a ride a crash an hi hat and a fuckin bassdrum
different styles of music require different set-ups. metal - big set. jazz - small set (that is usually true) but i agree mostly. i hate bozzio's set but he is still a good rummer. i play metal so i need 2 bass drums, a snare, 9-13 tom toms, 12 & 16 floor tom, hi-hat, ride, 4 crashes, china
i dont "need" it. i like to have it. i started out playing drums about a year ago and all i had for 4 months was my 5 shells, double bass pedal and a hi-hat.
@pollaponeros yes, Bozzio's kit is just a waste of materials, 10 bassdrums for 1 dumb head = stupidity. anyway those kind of drummers are the ones that plays usless shit.
fuck!! I think u, re right! I haven´t seen the DW pedals and the position of cymbals...I thougnt it was mike´s kit because of the purple drawings in the toms, which I thought was the DT logo...
some series of sonor are bad but have you ever listened the tone of a well tuned sonor designer or sq2 or sclass those sound very special but I think dw is the best
He is able to use the smaller bass drum... just has to use a kind of double bass drum pedal with the beater in front of the drum and the pedal right next to his other bass drum pedal... kinda remote bass drum pedal ;)
Interesting theory, however, I see no beater in front nor behind the smaller bass drum. I'm well aware of what a double bass drum pedal is, and what it is capable of. Not only is no beater visible, but there is absolutely no point in having the beater hitting the front of the drum, observing that the "front" of the drum has a resonant head as it should. Improper for striking. But if what you say was indeed the case, then Ryananzo was right. Quite unconventional indeed. Regards.
indeed, ist seems kinda unconventional... but there are several drummers who use this kind of 2nd bass drum setup; like mike portnoy who used it suring some tours, john otto used this setup a short time and the former drummer of nickelback used it too, i think. but, for sure, its not the "classical" conventional kind of setup with two bass drums of the same size. sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native speaker ;) regards!
Not how, but WHY is the real question. Don't get me wrong, I'm a lover not a hater. But I never head multiple tunes bass drums that REALLY made a difference.
0:30 how are you meant to use the 6 bass drums?!? With loads of slave pedals and drive shafts.
im getting a new drumset, i want sumthing that would sound good for some hardcore music like death metal or sumthing but i dont know what brand to go with, i was thinking of ddrum diablo 7 piece with double bass drum but im not sure. could anyone help me?
Ive been playing drums for 14 yrs, Ive played in metal bands & Ive played jazz & the first thing I will tell you is DONT LET THE GUY AT THE MUSIC STORE TELL YOU WHATS GOOD FOR YOU, make sure you get what you want but TRY EVERY KIT BY EVERY COMPANY FIRST buying a drum kit is SERIOUS so you might regret it later if you dont buy the right one so make sure you spend a good 3 to 4 months testing out drumsets, if your serious about your playing then take buying a drumset seriously, good luck dude
yeh i went to a music store yesterday and i could tell the guy had no idea what he was talking about. so i left. haha
ive been drumming for only 4 years and i think its time for another set cuz my drum kit sucks... alot :] and i cant really play all the drum brands cuz the stores just stack the toms and shit up so u cant play it. but ill just ask my drum teacher thank you!!
Ok if they dont want you testing out drums then there not serious about selling them so dont bother with that store. find a store that is happy to let you try all the kits in the store. also these days the management of alot of music stores employ people who they can mould into some thing that only works in the interest of the store & the days of genuine drum salesmen are dying, well they are here in australia because of private companys taking over our top stores. just find a store that cares
hop on drummerworld and ask all those guys, you'll get a lot of opinions from people who actually know.
I don't think I would go with DDrum because of issues with their hardware, buy a double pedal, not two bass drums to start with, add a bass drum later if you really want it.

1:08 how are you meant to use the second bass drum?
BOERDRUM 2 years ago
Not how, but WHY is the real question. Don't get me wrong, I'm a lover not a hater. But I never head multiple tunes bass drums that REALLY made a difference.
0:30 how are you meant to use the 6 bass drums?!? With loads of slave pedals and drive shafts.

It's all about a combo of things.
Shells make (maple, birch,etc)
Shell sizes (deep bass drums versus shallow depth)
Heads (blue evans deep sounds to pin stripe stick sounds)
If I were to go back to accoustical I would get something that satisfies all fields but I can't help but love a bit of all the makes.
For death metal I would def get something deep shelled and check out prices and reviews at musicians friend.

hop on drummerworld and ask all those guys, you'll get a lot of opinions from people who actually know.
I don't think I would go with DDrum because of issues with their hardware, buy a double pedal, not two bass drums to start with, add a bass drum later if you really want it.
