  • ha ha ha...they wanna beat on the punks...then stab the straight security guy....

  • i cant wait to see tsol play at the malibu inn during september!!!!!

  • these guys are bad ass live. i saw them in 2004 and again in 2009

  • I've never seen this movie. What's it about?

  • The girl who was so depressed she stood idly by while a woman's baby was transformed into a cabbage patch kid doll and then attacked by dogs?

  • "My stepdad's a cop...and BLACK" "My Dad's GAY!" "My mom drinks sometimes" "Gentlement, let us squat the suburbs and proceede to spend our days just staring at each other drinking and muttering like retards about how no one knows how hard it is to be a white kid in the suburbs" "Yeah, especially with black and gay parents". No my idea of punk rock...or even a movie for that matter

  • @TurtlesButtNaked

If you've never lived with an alcoholic then maybe you don't understand that hiding liquor bottles under the sink and beating your kid cause you think he drank some of it is more than just "drinking sometimes." The film was based on interviews Penelope did with real kids who really had no place else to go and were victims of abuse. You seem to have forgotten about the girl who's father beat her in order to stop from having sex with her. White kids have shitty childhoods too.

  • @TurtlesButtNaked well, yes! No punk should have any kind of prejudice. You´re right. But, this was released in the 80`s (I was 14 in those days! Time flies!) and directed by Roger Corman. The scene of the girl naked at the club was also Corman´s idea. Later on she was a porno star. Many of the things in the movie were misconcepts about punk scene. But, it was a nice film for those days and has inspired many kids! I haven´t seen any serious movie about punk cult. :(

  • @Aggronights I just remember growing up in the 90's everyone was saying 'Fuck SLC Punk, SEE SUBURBIA!" and I saw both and neither could really be taken seriously to me. Both seemed really forced, and punk and cinema just never really mixed well. I feel like the best punk movies were flicks like Repo Man and Falling Down, movies that definatly embodied the attitude but without being obnoxious and too loud to really get through

  • @Aggronights Do you know a single fact about this movie??? how about trying this on for size Directed by Penelope Spheeris

Writing credits Penelope Spheeris The girl in the club who was stripped down was based on an actual event that happened in Lakeland Florida and was Penelope's idea to put that scene in there Roger was part of the production team and he had nothing to do with the writing of the script or scene choices...PS the girl in the scene DID NOT go on to do porn

  • @Aggronights And PSS just because you read stuff on IMDB does not mean it's the truth AS I am sure you just relayed info from there to here.because IMDB is the only place that references Roger as the one who had the idea for that scene with her and also falsely claims she went on to become a porn star if you delve further than IMDB into the movie you will see her name and that she actually went on to become a real estate agent & that this was her only attempt with acting

  • I don't think anyone can argue that Suburbia was one of the shittiest movies ever made

  • Lot of stupid comments on here.

  • I am from OC and the T.R. gang was actually written about a real bunch of kids, mostly known throughout the neighborhoods as thieves, who actually did raid garage freezers for food. I know, because I caught them raiding our garage freezer while coming home from a bike ride. After that, people started closing and locking their garage doors instead of leaving them open all the time. My friends and I found the Suburbia Movie crew filming the movie for a few days in and around my neighborhood.

  • @kdj29 wait what neighborhood was it ive alwys wanted to know..

  • @thejigzup the real group of kids raided garages in costa mesa, newport beach, huntington beach and fountain valley. Those are the places I know about. They might have done garden grove, santa ana, westminster, etc. as well. They shot movie scenes in costa mesa, huntington beach, newport beach and L.A. that i know about.

  • @thejigzup the club scene was shot on 17th and newport blvd. the strip joint is on superior in newport beach, the building is called Zubies Gilded Cage. the famous walking scene is on main street in huntington beach, the convienience store scene was shot on harbor blvd and adams blvd in costa mesa, across from what used to be cona lanes and the ice chalet and edwards movie theater. the apartment scenes with the gay dad was shot at an old hotel converted into apartments on harbor blvd in costames

  • @kdj29 wow you know your stuff! ive been wanting to know this for the longest..thanks a bunch =]

  • I like how everyone has BS folklore about this movie... BUY THE DVD and STFU has everything on it. the end. no BS made up stories about how it was shot at your grammas house and shet.. feck man you weren't there get over it lolz.

  • @rickhorror alot of hicks get jealous of people from Orange County, because they are stuck in hicksville, USA, making fishing lures.

  • Wow a lot of hateful comments :(

  • where in the hell did he find that frilly 17th century dress shirt

  • Guess what?

  • You're trying too hard to bring revolution and rebellion into our scene. Grow up! Noone's trying to rip a dress off a Suburbia porno model! You're ruining the L.A. Punk scene by hurting, fighting, and raping people! L.A. Punk is over! It was a movie dumb f*cks!

  • Comment removed

  • i can't believe how young they look. wow.

  • TSOL: America's answer to The Damned.

  • i always hated those two dirtbag stinkie girls at the beginning

  • Shit! What I would not give to go back to those days! The punk scene in the early-mid 80's was intense, raw, and for real. When I look at all these kids dressed up as hip hop wannabe gangstas and juggalos now I just laugh! They would have been killed back in the day.

  • @jpx08 by who?

  • GOTH

    AND THE SAME TIME

    PUNK

BUR THAT IS MORE GOTHIC THAN PUNK

  • lol, he died instantly from a single stab in the lower back.

  • @HostageKiller If you got stabbed in a kidney you would drop where you stood too.

  • woah Jack grisham is a bad ass

  • Hardcore punk rock used to be incredibly dangerous and filled with a ton of thugs back then. It still is just less of them now. All those old LA guys could throw down and fuck shit up and were tough pricks. They were fucking crazy. Punk rock used to be a place where folks like that lived, not people who think eminem or shit-hop retards are "tough".

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork You've obviously not been to a hardcore show in the last two decades. who's the poser now?

  • @area43 Bitch, you look like some fuckin geeky jewish lawyer that would have had his head smashed in back in the days.

I've been to a lot of hardcore shows over the last two decades. Not sure where you live but I go to shows in socal quite often. Especially since TSOL, D.I., Adolescents, the crowd, social task, and a bunch of other original hardcore bands still play around here.

  • No more punks? Might as well say "no more roses" or "no more sunsets." There will always be punks, even if you are too old to appreciate them.

  • @popegrutch at my school theres only about 5 kids that can be considered un corparate punks.

they like old school bands and even have there own band, are out casts of society,

too bad there seniors, im a freshman

    whatever i guess.

  • @popegrutch

More like too young to appreciate them. The kids in this video are pushing 45 years old.

  • I should have an excel spreadsheet to tell me how many times I watched this movie, can't get sick of it, so nice!

  • and a little "Flea" memories!

  • wasn't.*

  • is that corey feldman?

  • @pubpukeNfight no. Corey Feldman wan't in this movie. lol.

  • @psyconetwork951 you're right it's corey haim.

  • Haha, the Meatmen made a song about these guys, and it's funny.

  • @johncerasi haha the meatmen's singer got his ass kicked by the HB's. even funnier. =)

  • In 2003 I voted for Jack Grisham when he ran for governor of california.

  • @Mattical80 wait isnt he a social democrat ?

  • This was filmed at the Fleetwood ..california...old school 80s.

  • uh....

  • OMG! He looks little like Corey Feldman (frog brother) in lost boys haha!

  • Vandals singer next to those girls @ 0:03

  • @whenicomeup It's called suburbia (1984)

  • major flick t.s.o.l owned this movie

  • that guy is an influence to me now

but what is his name ?

    the singer guy

  • @BarrioPunkRock jack grisham

  • Jack just changed his name-he was with them through into 87-88, I believe

  • one of my favorite bands and an excellent movie. i wish i was around to experience the early punk rock movement. whats around today isnt all that satisfying.

  • is that jack? this movie is from 1984 and he quit the band in 1982.

  • @wastedbryan yea its jack he still is with tsol

  • @wastedbryan almost positive its joe wood

  • Jack was and is TSOL.

  • Suburbia was such a fun 80's flick! Back when the punk scene was a place for outcasts and not some fashion and popularity contest.

  • @crissyoi punk is dead, i love punk rock but we can all admit that there are no punks around anymore, the only punk out there are bands that havent broke and played when punk was alive

  • @AdamTheAnarchrist Punks still exist. They just don't single themselves out as punks, don't dress like stereotypical Punks, and don't follow an Anarchist ideology because they realized how counterproductive and self-destructive it is.

There's a thriving Hardcore and crust scene where I live, Punk's not dead it's just underground

  • @alastairmctavish ... and by Hardcore, think like NYHC or Boston (I'm from Winnipeg..)

  • @alastairmctavish crust is stupid. hardcore only lives in socal, where it began.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Theres too much fighting going on amongst punks. Like squatter crust or gutter punks and political punk, punk bashing other punk genres, and it's not getting us anywhere. It appears that we are the ones that always preach about "live and let live." But if you look on every video that contains punk music, theres always fighting going on. Why? Because too many people are trying to prove how "punk" they are.

I'm not saying your doing that, but i felt i had to share that.

  • @psyconetwork951 people are mad for good reason, lots of posers try to claim the scene. crust, gutter-tards and everyone else.

the only thing still legit hardcore punk is the bands that started that, and many ARE still around playing since they were only like 15 when they started. So until some amazing original bands can come around, people will stick with what was original.

  • @alastairmctavish hit the head on the hammer guy. well said

  • @AdamTheAnarchrist i don't know where you live but in newfoundland there are plenty of punks and punk bands and proud to say it, punks not dead just indangered

  • @AdamTheAnarchrist punk is pretty much dead but these old school hardcore bands still play.

  • @crissyoi thats not really what punk is now in my opinion punk rock is dead.

  • @crissyoi well sorta, the bands that weren't from hollywood were pretty much just suburban kids, surfers, skaters, jerks, tough guys, thugs and misfits. all of the above really.

  • @crissyoi Fashion doesn't slam-dance. The culture is alive and well front and center.

  • @crissyoi Yea I hate that people now are punks cause they think its cool. Most of them dont even know real punk they think greenday is the best punk band and shit like that.

  • go suck a smelly, cheesy,scabby wrinkled penis had1223!!!!!!

  • Those two punker chicks were cutties.

  • @had1223 Fuck you!!!

  • T.S.O.L DARKER MY LOVE FUCK YEAH

  • there bystanders r poor actors in this film the bands are the only legit actors

  • @1xDannyHey1x The movie used mostly non-actors for the film.

  • @esmi1977 I watched the film with the Spheris' commentary turned on and she said that she hired real life punk rockers off the street because she wanted authenticity. and it showed. lol!

  • hi friends..if someone could tell me the name of this movie?? thankyou..Punk Rock for Life!!!

  • @whenicomeup Suburbia

  • @whenicomeup maybe it's from the movie suburbia.

  • @whenicomeup suburbia.

  • @whenicomeup

I'm sure everybody has responded to your question, but just in case...

The movie is called Suburbia. BUT... there are 2 movies out there called Suburbia. You want to watch the one from 1983, not the one from 1996.

  • Comment removed

  • @whenicomeup suburbia 1984 my friend

  • @whenicomeup "Suburbia" there are two suburbias, one from the 80's which is this one and one from the 90's with giovanni ribisi.

  • @whenicomeup

    Suburbia (1983) Penelope Spheeris

  • @whenicomeup Suburbia, really hard to get, but we got it :D

  • @whenicomeup .........subarbian is the name of the movie!

  • @whenicomeup

    Suburbia

  • @whenicomeup

    its called Suburbia

  • the wayback machine, a classic movie in my eyes.

  • childhood memories ... nice movie. I only hate the black cop + son in the car thing.. Against racism i am, and thats the only thing thats not right. Good point is Flea from the Red Hot Chilly Peppers. Yeah, one of his first appearances in movie. Oh, and most actors where real punkrockers and squaters....

  • @RichardCyberPunk Only thing I hated was the decoys filling in for the two childrens' fates. . . Too fake. Otherwise film seemed like a documentary.

  • indeed , the start of the dog attacking the kid by the phoneboot. a bit fake... 200% cool that a lot of actors were really squaters./punkrockers of that time... original.

  • ahah i loved this movie

  • Whips like that always carry knives!

  • Some security...

  • jack grisham in make-up and a pirate get up. so wierd bud dope

  • Fucking awesome movie, fucking awesome song!

  • Flea!

  • ....I really want to hear tsol's hair metal album, and I can't seem to find it any where. If someone's got the album strange love, please upload it.

  • @leeharveyosmosis try free napster, i know hit and runs on there atleast and im pretty sure so is strange loves, just throwing it out there though its really not tsol and it kinda sucks

  • @leeharveyosmosis its not that great.....LOL

  • I like train wrecks.

  • @leeharveyosmosis Well if its still in my CD collection up in my in-laws attack (i moved....long story) perhaps I could upload something from it for a laugh

if i find videos of there "train wreck" metalwannabe abulm ill send ya a link...

...I have always thought Jack Grisham had avery dramatic operatic broadway musical kind of voice ....weatherd statues, this song and silent scream are the best evidence of this....

  • @leeharveyosmosis there was another before that....cuz I know I never owned strange love

  • how so? they used to kick a lot of peoples asses. no one messed with jack.

go listen to abolish govt. or code blue if you think they're tame.

  • ya man jack grissem is a fucking beast i would never cross pass with that guy

  • @blatzroadkill you're a pussy

  • and your the basterd son of a whore so i guess where even

  • get off ther cock and liten up its just a band for real

  • what album is this on?

  • This is a total Crash!!!

    (in a good way of course=) )

    I like this one film.

  • "hey. lets walk in and stab a random security guard and walk back out!" what a douche

  • it was the metal tards that did that to frame that punk gang

  • i know. stupid metal tards!

  • lmao metal died in 91

  • i wish they knew that.

  • @real80smusic No. "glam" metal died in '91. :)

  • ya know, I hated glam metal but I also hated normal metal like ratt, ozzy and other shit because it was just too conforming and not macho enough.

I actually thought poison were very talented for a glam band and they had good rock n roll guitar sounds. brett michaels was a douche but he got so many girls.

i liked the vandals, chemical people and other stuff at that time in history.

  • I liked chemical people and all the l.a. bands that were still punk influenced back then because they would talk about porn and fucking girls. that stuff just rose above all the hair metal bands imo.

grunge was a mistake, mtv just pushed that shitty genre on everyone. I pretty much rebelled against it and listened to stuff like the above bands as well as neds atomic dustbin, red kross, transvision vamp, jesus jones(listen to never enough), and more electro-rock oriented stuff.

  • does that go for thrash/speed/death metal as well? i always hated glam metal but i always liked bands influenced by hardcore, such as exodus and slayer. don't care much for the metalcore scene though.

  • pretty much yeah. I liked some thrash stuff like dri, doa, gang green, etc. but a lot of that got old because it was just one sound. punk can change a lot more so it's an open field.

  • @misskill3r They look like Jocks, not Metalheads

  • @misskill3r That's funny. The hard metal guys and punk guys back then got along where I lived. I always thought that was weird in this movie. A lot of those bands went on tour with each other back then.

  • i didnt realise this was such an old song, i got the 2005 version off their site

  • es lo mejor

    los amo

  • I still remember watching them practice in Ron Emory's garage in Bellflower, CA. Those were the days!

  • How lucky you were mate...
