  • too soft too dull but alright better than some

  • @johnnymike27 I agree. Basically what we have here is a shitty recording LOL!!!! I recorded this in the 80's on a Teac 2340 reel to reel tape machine and was just learning about the recording process. I had no mixer, no EQ, no compressors. It's also too slow and WAY too much bass. Other than that--perfect LOL!! BSP

  • @BeatleSongPlayer aww its alright and thinking about comming here and making ANY remark thats not nice...was wrong...anyone who shares the interest that I and my bandmates do...is OK by me..sorry

  • Great. Thanks. Nice singing, too. Some more splashy ride cymbal on the bridge would make it more Ringo, though.

  • @Robertcowart Thanks!! I agree about the cymbals, but they don't make cymbals that sound like Ringos anymore. Most of todays cymbals are crisp and "pingy". BSP

  • really like this if you had a club scene noise in the background it would sound like alive version in the early days bobby

  • @theneilguy Hey bobby, some club noise would be cool, but I don't know how to do that. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment!! BSP

  • Great covering and great song. One of my favorits.

    May I ask, did you use a 12 string R a B on this?

  • @Goodnet10 Thanks!! Yes, I used a 12 string Rickenbacker on this one. It's the one in the video, a 360-12v64. All of the guitars you see in the video are mine. Thanks for the comment!!!!! BSP

  • Thanks to you and YouTube we get to learn all the Beatles songs. Scugs does a good job teaching. Seem some of the "to a tee" work by Rob Taylor. My Beatles repertoire and increased immensely!

  • Yeah, it's a good song (why not a classic?) - it could have been easily included in "A Hard Day's Night" album, or in the very next one, but the group decided otherwise.

  • Yeah, dude you've done it well. Who cares it's a not very known song by the fab four, after all it's a Beatles song. Carry on, my friend, there's much of good music to cover, not only The Beatles. But when we're in the Beatles thread I would be glad to listen to you playing some other their songs.

  • @krissie660 Thanks!! To me, EVERY Beatles song is a classic. BSP

  • Good work mate...And awesome guitar collection!!!!! I`m realy impressed!

  • Wow! John would have loved the cover!

    Well done.

  • well done!

  • Thank you!! BSP

  • oh yeah

  • congrats man, that's fookin gooood

    merci

Mr John LENNON is so mising, Dec. 8!!!!!!

  • Hey wow ... stumbled on this, and while the backing tracks are competent, the vocal really seems to have a rare, distinctive internal consistency - especially for being a cover. You sound like ... you, and I'm extra-impressed for the skill it takes not to be subsumed by Beatle mode ...!

  • Thanks Mike,

I never try to sing like the "Lads". Voices are like fingerprints, so I don't even bother. Thanks for your comment, BSP

  • Awesomely good !! Made me notice the 4-in-the-bar cowbell thing that also appears in "You can't do that"(?) Even has the rhythm guitar shift to "ska" in the solo (though could be louder in the mix - sorry!?)

Thankyou - I've got to go and do one now!!

  • I missed this one.... how ya doing Jimmy?

  • Hi Dave,

As Paulie once said, "It's Getting Better". How are you my friend? God will help you if you ask him, it's that easy!!!! Keep the faith Dave, you are among friends. BSP

  • one of Lennon's most classic early rock style tunes... great job with this recording, i like that you didn't mess with John's phrasing.

  • Thanks mate. It would be a sin to mess with Johnnys phrasing LOL!! He wrote the song, and the "how to" book on Rock n Roll vocals. BSP

  • More Cowbell LOL!! BSP

  • Amazing! I loved the stereo and the beat.

  • Damned good cover! Well done!

  • Thank You!!!! BSP

  • i call your name but your not there ... great

  • BSP, as "others" call you, what song will be next?

  • Hey hiheels69, did you take a look at the website schedule? Which gig have you decided to come to? I'd go for the Neptune Festival, Edgar Winter is on right before us. The next one will be "Things we said Today".

  • Paul Mc Cartney said I call your name was John Lennon cry out for his mother "but she wasn't there"

  • one of my favorite of them!! nice song!! lennon's favorites.

  • Well done, BSP. One of my favorites. No doubt a John Lennon composition. Dark, down and dirty. Thanks.

  • Thank you sir. You are correct, written by John.

  • Who's singing this?

  • Me. It's a song I recorded at home, playing and singing everything. No band, just me.

  • More Cowbell!

  • I can't, I got blisters on my fingers!!!

  • That's what was missing!! lol
