Thank you for the images to accompany a piece of music that I have always liked since I was a small child - hauntingly evocative for me of a 1950's childhood in England. As a child I was more familiar with the gritty reality (and often violence) of Oldham and Hull but Elizabethan Serenade always promised me that there was a gentler, more pastoral England.
This reminds me of travelling down to London as a small kid with my Grandma and Grandad when they went to do the London marathon together, this seemed to be playing on the radio alot. I think of them when I hear this and It brings back very nice memories of them.
Having grown up (!) in said town ('67-'85) one can never recall a single mention of his name, not publicly, not officially. That said, although one listened to much music, particularly classical - light and heavy, oneself was never aware of RB more widely. Question. Was that just moi ?
It always remind me being a child and I saw on TV "Schneewittchen" on Ice, in English I think it´s called "Cinderella" but I´m not shure! And Cinderella/Schneewitt-chen was dancin ´alone on Ice to the Elisabeth-Serenade - and I love it!!!! as a child and also now.
@sophismpress Thanks for the lovely comment. I have a much better version of this video under the username " classicalcolleen" if you ever feel like taking a trip to that channel. :-)

It sounds like the Ron Goodwin version. I agree - it's a lovely piece of music, and the imagery and lyrics uploaded by catbrush123 are magical.
