actually, the standard VZ barrel is shorter than the average AK barrel. Just an FYI, it's actually as accurate as my SKS (which is a better 200yd shot than my AK).
they both shoot 7.62x39 and are verey simmler.... thats like saying the m4a2 is more accurate than a m4a1.... the vz is not aney more accurat than a ak
You obviously don't know much about weapons. M4a1 is almost the same as M4a2. Vz58 is anything but the same like AK. The system is absolutly different. Anyways, its not only about ammunition, but about barrel and overall quality of the gun. A SIG is a lot more accurate than a M4 with the same ammunition.
Not to mention that the VZ has a short-stroke gas system, the AK has a long-stroke. The VZ is striker-fired, the AK is hammer fired. The VZ has a breech-block locking system, the AK has a rotating bolt. The VZ has a disconnector-type safety, the AK a trigger-lock type safety.
there not to much diffrent besides the bolt and gas piston whats so great about the barrel its probley a little longer but besides that theres probley nothing special ..... and the sight radious is shorter than a ak witch makes it harder to aim long distince ......and a sig is not more accurat than a m4 son
I consider both the CFSC and CRFSC exams to be extremely easy. They are not designed to test your intellegence or the limit of your reasoning abilities, all they test is your capacity to remember a limited number of figures, acronyms and your application of one or two basic rules.
BTW, do the restricted test at the same time even if you don't plan on buying restricted firearms. Lots of guys change their minds later on and it's a real pain to have to do it after the fact.
both tests are very easy. the written part is a joke...just study an hr or two b4 the test and highlight the parts the teacher goes over in class- thats what you study! The hands on part, just dont point a gun at anyone, ever, even by mistake, and youll do fine.
With properly mounted good quality optics, a rest, and hand-loaded ammo it'd be pretty easy. Shooting surplus ammo offhand with iron-sights; a watermellon would be more realistic.
Canadian law mandates that all centerfire rifles (barring a couple of named exceptions) can have magazines holding no more than 5 rounds. While I have 30 round magazines they are pinned/riveted to hold only 5 rounds.
Sure, I could modify them to hold their full capacity, it would be easy as falling off a log. It would also be easy for the RCMP to track me down from this video and bust me with "prohibited devices". It'd be easy for the crown to convict me. Also easy for the judge to sentence me to up to 5 years for each count of possession of a prohibited device. Easy like borscht.
The exempt rifles are the Lee-Enfield and M1 Garand if I remember correctly.
In canada we unfortunatly get use to these ridiculous laws. The goverment probaly think that if a creasy guy wants to kill a bunch of innocents he will not remove the pop rivert that lock the mag to 5 rounds because by doing so he will become a criminal... Wake up government, of he wants to kill innocent the first thing he will do is to remove the pop rivert, so why making the honest poeple like us shit with a so stupid law ?
If your are canadian be caureful because if the law enforcement officers see you with an unpined high capacity mag on a semi-auto rifle you will be charge with criminal charges. I now that it is really stupid but in Canada it is the law (a very stupid one of course) but still the law. So be careful and have fun.
I am Canadian, and they will never catch me with it because I am in a area where there is no Law Enforcement. When the police do come they have to make an announcement and by then my unpined magazine is gone all of a sudden.
Since you've admitted it, you've given them reasonable grounds to obtain a search warrant, show up at your door and demand immediate access. No announcement necessary.
Remember what happened to those 'tards who posted the video of them shooting ducks illegally?
@thegreatfbi Why would you come online and admit that, the internet was initially intended for military use and now the government has watch dogs policing the internet. Good luck with your possible gun confiscation. My friends hunting pal had all his rifles confiscated only because his bitch ex-wife called in saying he threatened her which was a LIE. They took all his guns, including some old rifles his grandfather passed down to him. The law respects no one.
@ponylover07 Yes. In Canada magazines have a pin so only 5 rounds can be put in. He mentioned he removed the pin online & filling the mag with its full capacity which isn't smart considering all the illegal wiretaps and internet watchdogs trolling around.
@NancyFrQC Actually why would he use his own gun registered in his name to commit a crime. He could buy an illegal gun. What I find strange is illegal guns are easier to obtain than a legal one. This proves that the gun laws only go after legal gun owners. Governments are run by idiots!
Slight correction - it's only SEMI AUTOMATIC centerfire rifles which have a 5 round magazine limit in Canada. There is no limit on non semi automatic rifles.
dont forget if you get a semiautomatic that fires .223 or the 5.56 nato ammo you can legally put the LAR15 10 round mags into them now! If you like the AR15s, type 97s, etc, 10 rds > 5 rds any day
I have fired both of them... the only thing that I like more about the AK is that the AK-47 is designed more or less to operate with a pound of sand in them.
VZ58's will jam alot easier.
As far as a more comfortable gun to shoot(AND a better looking gun) go with the VZ.
you talking BS. vz58 will NOT jam in sand conditions (unless you used a crap copy). Indeed its even more reliable than AK, there is no question, its locking system is more simple than the AK. I used normal military ammo and had about 3 jams during my military time (around 20k shots in different conditions)
its about the ammo, .223 is a better shooting range setup, it has snall diameter and gets higher velocity, but in combat I vould rely more on 7.62x39 (AK and vz58 uses the same ammo), it has better stopping and breaching effect (you have to shoot things too, not just bodies), while .223 will wound target more, but you will not reach target in light armoured car, wall etc. and will need more bullets stop stop driving car.
This was under ideal shooting conditions; warm, bright, and with almost no wind. Even so the groupings were huge! 2.5 to 3 feet across. I'm certain the rifle is capable of even better accuracy but at this distance the front sight post appears to be as wide as the entire target panel.

A bolt action lee enfiled for example can have a 10 round magazine because its bolt action.
And anything thats rim fire can have hi capacity mags, Example. A Ruger 10/22 can have a 25 round mag.

This rifle is very interesting. CZUSA is going to start importing them into the US. How is the VZ58 accuracy compared to an AK47?
moonskeen 4 years ago
I believe it's better than an AK, but not as good as an AR. The figure that most people report is 4-6 inch groups at 100 yards.
