yeah dude i agree these guys are terrible and i say the stage selection should be random, that way both people have a chance of getting a more fun stage and if they cant survive on that stage they choose then they shouldn't even be in the tournament, because i can survive on just about any stage, and seriously if this is a championship match then i have to go to a tourny too some time sorry 4 the long comment

...doesnt matter about the preference, it matters if you can rely only on your skills to face your opponent. The only thing stopping someone from winning should not be the playing field...so final destination is the best field since a player cannot complain the playing field resulted in their loss or win. No additional platforms...no enviromental changes that effect the playfield...its just flat.

example: falco has a really nice way to use platforms, in FD his matchups are based on the lasers instead.

or about chaingrabs, platforms will complicate things, which is NOT a bad thing.

Wavedashing was an advanced tactic in melee (it was really a glitch) but it was fixed in brawl, so if you have that dont worry about it.

A great battle yes. But I think whoever is Falco is dancing around way too much for his own good. Try using power moves and wait for your enemy to come to you. More often than not you will be at an advantage. As far as Fox went, good job!

well, you know, in competitive smash... they dont just come to you... they SHL, they dash dance, they come in and wavedash back out. half of the game is creating an opening. once you have it, you need to rack up % quickly, so power moves arent your best bet, you want quick, chainable moves, shuffles, shines, pillars, chainthrows, tilt combos. the final part of the game is the finish, and you would rather spike them with a quick move, then rely on a clumsy FSmash

idk know how i feel about items or not i kinda think the randomness does reflect how well you are at dealing with an opponent that gets say a hammer or a star, w/out items just shows at how well you can execute your fingers and reaction times as where w/items it show how you can react w/ situation that you dont normally have
