  • Haha. I've been high for a few hours, writing poetry. This is cool man, really nice. I'm a fan now after listening to some of your poems homie, keep it up!!!!

  • awsome video!! i myself am 15 and me and my sis are very strongly against smoking weed and we both never have. but most of my friends do and they always say to me, "whats so bad about smoking weed?". i think i found my answer. thanks

  • Great video i have a urge at this moment and i can easily overcome but it is as hard to not as to do.....or is it? And then the impaired judgment comes in . I have to quit.

  • VOTE FOR POETRI!

To all of Poetri's fans, he needs your help. TIME WARNER CABLE is searching for a host for their new talk show, Born to Shine. They have been holding nationwide auditions as well as an online one. Currently Poetri is ranked #1, and we want to see him WIN! Please go to facebook and search for BORN TO WIN. Don't have a FB, just open one up solely to vote. Takes 3 min. Enter POETRI on the page, and his video will come up. You can vote 1X/Day. Juren (the wife) LOL :-)

  • lol 65% start before 15.. that gives him a 45% chance.... try again

  • @TippmannAlphaCinqo i think he was a lil high

  • thanks for writing such lovely poems and agian i am not trying to argue that legalizing weed would be the best for california just that i dont think it will be that bad.

  • Also one of the facts seemed wrong to me more people are addicted to caffeine in America than any other drug not weed not sure if that statistic would hold true for teens and young adults but I am pretty sure it does.

  • Those countries have a significantly lower number of cases of alcoholism then America. They also have less drunk driving I believe but I am not I hundred percent. So I guess my point would be that sometimes counter intuitively enough legalizing drugs (such as alcohol in this example) and demystifying them can help people deal with them more rationally.

  • I am not going to lie or even argue that weed is good for you, but I was/am high now and I just watched your video. It is amazing like all of your other pieces; I listen to you all the time, ever since the first time I saw you on def poetry jam. I would like to point out even though it isn’t a direct parallel to weed that in countries that allow children to drink alcohol from younger ages i.e. the French allowing their children to drink wine with dinner.

  • then last but not least, yeah if we get into all the political crap as to why it should or shouldn't be legal, then it's complicated but i feel well hell cigarettes are legal, alcohol is legal so why not make this legal. i mean i do agree with @ihuggs61 on the fact that it can and does help the sickly people but people use it for something else and turn into something it isn't. cigarettes HELL NO but alcohol and weed probably wouldn't be bad if ppl wouldn't overdue it and hurt others

  • Cont'd if i wanna get my mind off something, then i listen to music, or watch t.v. or write poetry or draw. i don't want to resort to anything that might cause pain to someone else. and another thing is i don't have time to be high, i have so many more productive things to do. yeah it relaxes you and slows everything down except LIFE, b/c life isn't waiting im not gonna do something that waste it. Another that i feel about weed and everything else is it hella STINKS!!!lol

  • love the poem, but i don't mess with weed, cigarettes, drugs,alcohol...or whatever you wanna call it that can impair the part of my brain that makes cool decisions. it's more than just b/c im not 21. idk i have never seen nothing good really come from smoking weed. the only thing that everybody says is that it gets your mind off things, the same thing a lot of ppl say who are addicted to alcohol or any other things.

  • @ihuggs61 Wow! Thank you for sharing this. I know other parents that are in the same predicament. I shall pray for you and your family, cause I believe GOD can change all things. I am also conflicted with the use for medical purposes. But since it is already been passed for medical use, I am not talking about that in this poem. I am strictly talking about Prop 19. Yay! Thank you so much for listening to my opinions. And trust in GOD and He will make this alright.

  • Cont'd from below. It has been a horrible year. I am standing firm on God's promises to bring him to realization that he has escaped (so far) damaging his and others' futures by his choices. Also, I find that this poem speaks to me as I have been trying to reconcile my own feelings re: the compassionate use of marijuana for people who suffer from pain and terminal illnesses that otherwise would have no relief. But like so many things, ppl ruin it b/c of greed and greed and more and more...

  • I appreciate what you have done with your poetry. This is very timely and certainly gave me pause. I feel as if you were speaking directly to me and my current situation via your poem/video. I have a child who has been given a few free (legal) spins and has narrowly escaped death all related to weed. He has been busted at school, almost ended up with permanent brain damage (was assaulted), has been stopped and searched and seized from, but he knows everything.

  • I agree with you man, and very nice work on the poem! I liked the ending, haha I never saw it coming

  • @phenton and @surreal469 love you, too dawg. But, of course, I say this all to say that this is all just my opinion. I'm a poet and what kind of poet would I be, if I didn't write what I felt? Thanks for your comment. Yay!

  • @phenton Other countries have also severly warned their citizens about the dangers of cell phone use and tells them to refrain from using them at all costs. Not in America. That would never happen, cause we make too much money off of cell phones. And likewise, California will make millions, if not billions of dollars off of the taxing of Marijuana.

  • @phenton what other countries have legalized it? I would like to look it up and see how things have gone since they legalized it. At any case, the wonderful USA is a totally different country than all other countries.

  • All this can happen whether it's legal or not. I doubt legalization would increase the chances seeing how other countries see a decrease in marijuana use after legalization

  • Love you Po, but this seemed to just be a slippery slop poem. That went to a few extremes about weed. I don't even smoke it that often (maybe a few times a year) but the stat about the rate of addiction seemed high, the part about it being a gateway drug has pretty much been debunked, it would not be tolerated to get high at work, and the part about it being illegal to drive and be high won't stop people from doing it could apply to alcohol or even cough medicine

Still the homie though. lol. :D

  • *slippery slope

  • great work. this one turned out very well. the picture of the girl doing heroine scared me though

  • @alexrider808 thank you so much for listening and your kind words.

  • Daaaaaaannnnnng. NICE!

  • okay shoudlve read discription anyways that seemed confusing

  • it kills brain cells and is bad for you lungs lol.

  • that was an extremely powerful ending.

  • @pearlrabbit Right, right, cause everyone in the state of California abides by the laws. lol

  • I doubt marijuana would just be legalized without any laws in place to keep the public safe as they do with tabacco and alcohol.

  • Truly deep and still with the Poetri style I <3 this and I'm posting on the book.

  • @TrevorNothing. Omg! Omg! Omg! I am stupid. I wrote it, recorded it and edited the movie all the way up to like 4 in the morning. No excuses. But dang it! I was sleepy! Plus, I suck in Math! Lol. Ughh. Oh well...

  • i don't mean to be a stickler because i love the poem, but doesn't he have 35% chance?

  • Comment removed
