It is illegal for truckers to carry too but there are many that do personally I can't sleep unless I have a weapon next to my bed. I have a light on my bed side that immediately lights up if a loud noise or the table is bumped it is on the weapon. The light is bright enough where you can see but dim where your not blinded.

In Wyo it is MANDATORY for ALL students to pass a hunter's safety course (and this was back in the early 80's). I was fortunate enough to grow up in a home where I was taught how to respect and care for firearms (my family were hunters AND military) The guns were always secured and we knew that if we misused a gun we would be beat within an inch of our life....this was back in the day where that threat would scare the bejezus out of us.
