  • haha dude awesome cover, my indoor drumline is playing this song for our show it sounds so good, i really like the part around 1:55. I can play this on synth and it just sounds awesome =3

  • Good.

  • if you play by ear how do you know about the scales, etc do you have any guitar education?

    from panama, rep of panama

  • @rolando0572 Hi Rolando... no unfortunately I have no guitar education... as for scales.. what scales ? LOL I do realize that if I learnt all the different modes and scales I would be a much better technical guitarist, but on the other hand....

  • @rolando0572 for me its difficult to understand how a great guitar player know nothing about scales, modes, because alex uses a lot of this ...you are awesome

i saw rush yesterday in miami i sae the camare eye live, brutal

  • nice tone dude!

    love the rabbit ! :D

  • nice tone dude!

  • I am in love with your tone. How the hell did you do it??

  • @TheGuitarman355 experimentation with different effects and pickup settings.... I've still got zhe Line 6 POD XT tone for this (one of the few I kept)

  • Where do you learn this?

  • @Rushguitarist1 I play everything by ear, but the more Rush you play, the more you learn the chords and progressions that AL uses (even if they aren't exactly right)

  • You look like Charlie Sheen

  • we used to have that carpet

  • RusH...its

    just

    Great

  • awesome!!!

  • i'm beginning to think that Lifeson fella is quite a writer..lol!!!

  • I'm diggin' this, what type of guitar are you using?...

  • @MajorFenix it's an Ibanez ST50, from their studio range, I've had it about 30 years

  • did you tune your guitar to "nashville" tuning for 2:53?

  • @SirGod85 it's all standard tuning

  • what effects were you using on this song? from 3:56-5:05? is it some chorus and some distortion? i think thats what im hearing. it sounds almost the same as Alex's effects on hemispheres prelude.

  • u dont diserve ur hands!!

  • Great job. I wish there was more bass in the song, a bit too much keyboards but an outstanding song. I think you did a great job.

    Congrats

  • You have good taste and are very talented.

  • I would love to see and hear "Lessons" from 2112!

  • i randomly came across this video and i was saying WTF??? when i saw the rabbit in the beginning but great cover anyway

  • Ha!! yes well, I was (still am) learning about how to make videos back then and was experimenting with how to fill gaps where there are no guitar parts... thanks for the comment and watching, really appreciated

  • I thought it was a nod to the Presto album! LOL

  • freaking awesome dude. Everyone raves about side A of "Moving Pictures" but I wore out the vinyl on side B.

Still hoping they play this song again once more before calling it quits.

  • @lapirata77 You're getting you wish. They'll be play all of "Moving Pictures" on this new tour. And I agree with you about the album. Side A is, of ocurse, a masterpiece but I also wore out The Camera Eye.

  • @lapirata77 i agree bro...camera eye, witch hunt vitals signs...classic....witch hunt one of my all time faves

  • Hi does anyone have a good midi file of this song. All midi files i found on the web are incomplet. If someone does and want to share it with others, please send at shawn688 on hotmail.

    Thanks in advance Shawn!

  • very very nice. well done.

  • Very nice cover, I like the way you isolate the camera on the neck while you're playing. I also do lots of Rush covers and you are a very impressive player. Maybe one of these days I will post a few videos.

  • take it from an old Rush fan, that was pretty much it. keep it up!

  • awesome job.solo is pretty close, but no one on you tube can do it better. you always impress me .thanx

  • Thanks :-) I appreciate the feedback

  • Pretty good.

    My fav Rush song.

    Tone is pretty close.

And, yes, the riff at the end of the solo is difficult.

    Kudos!

  • Not bad. Ive always loved this song. The riff is just so catchy. Never tired of this song

  • Yes it's one of their classics. Thanks very much for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

  • Dude. Nailed it.

I've been working on this one for a while. I can't seem to find the right sound, and the bass line is crazy. So I've taken a break. Maybe I'll take up quilting or something.

And I thought you'd use Playboy bunnies.

  • Cheers :-) .... The guitar sound is a mix of chorus, reverb and flange, which I was able to download from Line 6, direct into my POD XT Live, so all credit to them for that. Appreciate your comments Dude, thank you. Playboy bunnies? There are some things I don't share :)).. P.S how's the quilting coming along?

  • nice cover man... good technique... what patch did you use from line6? I have the xtlive too so I'm going to download it... thanks!

  • Hi dude, thanks for the comment. If you go to the Line 6 website and login, it was one of the Line 6 patches (not one that was made by a member of the public). If you don't have a login, send me your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

  • Absolutely brilliant! The bunny's not bad either! :)

  • great sound

  • Excellent - lovely tone on that Ibanez.

  • you are fantastic!!!!
