  • The sparks flying off the gate is awesome.. great job.

  • @hauntedhouse1408, yeah i've seen it done with a chain link fence. I'm pretty sure you can do it with any fence made of metal.

  • what was the name of the DVD they sold?

  • How thick is the re-bar? And did you make the gate then hinge it to the posts or made the posts/boxes as well?

  • I could Imagine their saying just open up the Gate and Give us the fucking Candy Ass

  • I have a question. If somebody touches the fence will they get shocked? I am so excited to try this for my halloween maze!

  • @MegaGuitarmaster101 As long as the chainsaw isn't in contact with the fence when they touch it, you're safe. If it is, they might get bit(I'm not sure.) I'd try to keep folks from directly touching it, but I've also seen this done with a Freddy Kreuger glove and I was standing basically inches away, so I suspect the danger is limited.

  • I built a derivative of this last year and I nearly ran the battery down before showtime just playing with it. Fantastic trick and a wonderful addition to the CreekShow.

  • Thank You Guy! Work! Haunted Gate with Creepy mask chainsaw =p

  • I've seen this a lot, it looks really cool! I'm glad to know how to do it.

  • could you use other types of fences, like a chian link fence?

  • he sounds like chris angel

  • @jimjim2237 finnally some one said that too!

  • @lulu8877 For walls i use pieces of wood that are about 5 1/2 feet per plank and then put ALOT of 55 gallon black trash bags over it as black walls it looks great at night you use the black trash bags as is dont spread them wide but dont open the bag. Decide the path of how u want people to travel through out your space and lay the wood on the areasyou want people to walk at when u finished it take a hammer and bang the planks 2ft into the ground so it wont tip over :D im out of space msg me

  • i am intrested in making a haunted house but i dont have a building in my back yard.yet,i have alot of space.what do i do?

  • @babysis1198 Message me i have a idea.

  • it is freaking 12 volts DC and the Amperage (which is the thing that kills ) is very low

all you are doing is shorting out the batterie go touch the positive and negative on your car batterie you wont die from it and no it is not like bumper cars you can get killed if you touch both at bumer cars but not with this car batterie think before you post

  • it works like bumper cars, you can touch high volt negative or positve charge, just not both at the same time. if someone touches the chainsaw blade and the gate at the same time they die

  • Are you sure if you attatch the battery to the gate, that it wouldn't electrocute anybody?

  • haha we did this with my step dad and 14 of my friends and 5 of his friends... It took 2 Generators and 6 Fog machines (because we did it in our woods) and I was the one with a clown costume holding a chainsaw.... (I was expose to make them run to the exit )

  • wow that looks real safe

  • @jason1160 LOL

  • @jason1160 i have the dvd i really is safe

  • my dad has done that before

  • u cut him off lol

  • lol my house is flippen scary

  • lol they cut him off at the end but good idea

  • now can u just take the blade out and use it like a regualr chainsaw becuse i dont have a fence to do tht on

  • when does jason hav a chainsaw?0.o

  • Man i am doing this at the hayride this year.....thanks

  • hi im from New Zealand, and where we are Halloween is just starting to get popular. no we dont follow the traditions, its just a festive occasion to have fun with the famz.

anyhudles we would love to use that affect but just wondering:

    - would it affect anyone who touches the gate?

    - what would be reccomended using a real chainsaw motor of SpeacialFX for sound?

  • Glad to hear the love of Halloween is spreading!

The gate should be safe to touch, as long as you don't allow anyone to touch the gate AND the chainsaw blade at the same time. That will complete the circuit and cause a shock.

I prefer a genuine chainsaw over SFX because I have easy access to one. If you can't get the real thing, a good scare can still be had with FX. I've also seen people use things other than chainsaws, for equally profound impact.

  • Most people use real chainsaw with the blade removed for safety purposes, it works just as good as any other prop one.

  • ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

  • i did this recently at a haunted house and it was so much fun! we used a chainlink cage and a metal pole.

  • cool dude nice r u doing again this year

  • i did this last year and it worked very well and if u touch the fence or the blade it wont do anything, i think u would need to touch the positive and negative plugs on the same metal for it to shock u

  • so its safe

  • wouldent a kid get shocked from the fence?

  • what he forgot to mention is that you should attach the GROUND (BLACK) side of the battery to fence. As we walk around on the ground, we are electronically "grounded." You would only get shocked if you touch the red side of the battery once the battery is grounded.

  • Do you think kids will walk to manic with chainsaws?

  • i'm deadly afraid of chain saws... message me and name the subject as ... "FOR LYNDSEY" and i will tell you some of my Haunted House stories with Chain saws!! please!

  • That is so frickin cool! I have always wanted to make a haunted house. If only I knew some welders. :-)

  • i did it last halloween the kid tried to sneak in through the back and i just came out with the saw and he shit his pants

  • lmao

  • thats alot of work.....

    oh well!

    im all up for it!

  • what if a kid touches it

  • u onle get electrocuted if u touch both the blade of the "chainsaw" and the gate at the same time...or if u touch the gate while the chainsaw is " cutting" the gate...x)

  • if a kid touches it nothing will happen, only if the saw blade touches it too

  • what if the battery blows up....thats possible because youre shorting it out.

  • you're only shorting it out for a fraction of a second, so i wouldn't worry about it... though I suppose it's not outside the realm of possibility.

  • yeah, then you'll get some acid burns, which would go with the gory halloween theme...what fun

  • If you're going to be ultra paranoid about it (remember that a cigarette lighter in your car is practically a direct short itself) - you can always cover your battery with a safety case that allows for your cables and proper ventalation. This can be built yourself or purchased (they are available for auto racing and other applications).

  • And how many cars have cigarette lighters now? Don't preach to me...I handle explosives everyday and a battery case is not going to prevent an explosion, nor contain said explosion. Giving people who watch this video and don't have a clue what there doing.. the idea that it's ok to short out a car battery is just plain stupid.

  • I WILL preach to you. You are a pyrotechnics expert. Great. So you know that it's the Hydrogen in a battery that explodes. You also know that a new battery that is full of fluid is much safer; less room for the gas to build up. You ALSO know that a battery case WILL help protect you in most cases. You ALSO know That it is the SPARK that ignites the gas. So keep your bat covered and away from your short. Keep your connections at the battery tight. You're never 100% safe but precautions do help.

  • How many fools are going to go out and buy a new battery for this? Go ahead everyone, try it...but don't bitch to me when your sorry asses wind up in a hospital...tried to warn you.

  • LOVE this been wanting to add this to my haunt and hope to in te near future.

  • you kick ass i had this idea a while ago i got from some site and you would drag a bar across a fence you took it a step further wow a chainsaw across the fence

  • That's what I'm scared of.. maybe have like a clear glass plate that blocks the fence from the kids?

  • The sparks only work when the circuit is complete. If the kids aren't attached to the battery, it won't affect them.

  • wat if some kid gets shocked or touches a charged peice
