At ya funeral lol thats funny but I mean I feel you on that one though. Its so majestic and powerful... It says a lot. Many people dont even know there are words to it.
Sousaphones got me thinking dark Vader is on his way lol... Nice arrangement Sir. Paul I. Adams. Kids learn ya scales two octaves if you wanna be in this band right here and do know how to sight read or you will be waisting ya time....
Good advice! Also get your lips in good playing shape because you will need your chops to keep up the sound you have to produce through out your performance. Build up your endurance and be prepared to remember ALOT of music!!! As we always say... Pick Up YOUR Feet, And Play YOUR Part, and DRIVE DRIVE, DRIVE FOOL!!!
That debate has come and gone. No one can tell who actually used it first. Just like the word "hubba". For FAMU it means one thing, in Legion talk it means another. Just one of those things that will never be resolved.
Yes it does!!! Especially after the trombones do that nasty walk on the quarter notes at the 1:30 mark and all you hear is the Sousaphones thump those notes!!! I know the Rutgers band was like DAMN!!! LOL
I have young cousin in the band at NSU. He said that they put on a show at Rutger before they left. I guess that was it. They sound good. He said that the other band (Rutgers) was like WOW. I guess they were waiting to see Drumline or something. They said they broke down for them though.
Most people think HBCU bands just like to dance! Well that is true for SOME schools but THIS band is something special!!! Always has been always will be!!! The Legion can match them technically and musically but can still shake that azz when they want too!!! BEHOLD
Look into your history. Before the Spartans of Sparta went to war, the army did Pass and Review for the Emperor and the Generals. The Legion do this (Pass and Review) before the President of the university, his/her guess, and the Spartan family to present their beloved Legion BEFORE they go off to battle. Bands that have faced the Legion DO NOT like to be in the stands or near the stadium when they do this because it puts FEAR in the hearts of their memebers! Now you know! LOL
That is home for me, even though I went to Tuskegee, my mom and aunts graduated from NSU. I lived in Hampton and went to all of the Battle of the Bay games. I still get chills when I hear this played by NSU.
I feel the same way .................... i love the people and the band but the school???., that is a totally different story, even though practally all my family went and goes there
Them sousaphones are ringing in that stadium...
