I had the privilege and pleasure of playing this number and others with Buddy and the Danville Symphony Orchestra last Saturday. Buddy is an amazing performer and a warm, friendly person without a trace of "temperamental musician".
Every discipline has that person who is its master,the person who defines the discipline and stretches its boundaries. Tennis has Federer. Golf has Tiger. Steel guitar has Cindy Cashdollar, and 4-string banjo has Buddy Wachter. There is no better.
<3 this guy. My grandpa was a banjo player and also taught me my first guitar chords. I used to make mix tapes of Yngwie, Bud Wachter, Steve Morse etc lol and people would ALWAYS stop what they were doin when Bud came on. Nothing can really prepare you for the first time hearing this guy shred. Thanks for the great post. :rockon:
