  • God Bless!

As a female Byzantine Catholic, you Byzantine Carmelites are admirable!

  • Слава Ісусу Христу!

beautiful chanting. is this the monastery from Sugarloaf, PA?

    thank you and God bless~

  • @metta108 Yes it is Holy Annunciation Monastery. God bless!

  • Eastern Catholic Liturgy is virtually the same as Orthodox Liturgy.

  • Eastern Rite Carmelits? WOW!

  • im catholic but i liked this video it al comes down to jesus christ amen if any one thinks im wrong please correct me thank you amen

  • .....they're Catholic too! :) Byzantine Catholic!

  • Yes thier catholic , with a small "c" meaning "universal"-For Jew and Gentile, but not to be confused with the senomination known as Catholic as in "Church of Rome" with popes and pergutory etc. Although Catholics are a sister church in Christ and are very similar, God bless them as they, and all Christians are wonderful people!!!

  • Eastern Rite Catholics, as in Byzantine in this case, are still under the same 'umbrella' if you will, as the Roman Catholic Church. There are MANY rites within the Catholic Church (Yes, I used a big C on purpose), the Catholic Church is not just the Roman Rite.

  • @kayaburning Ruthenian Rite Catholics are in union with Rome and members in good standing under the authority of the Pope. The Catholic Church is not a "denomination" which refers to one of the thousands of Protestant Christian denominations which are formally in scism or apart from, not under the authority of the Pope.

  • @WinefrideofWales St. Peter was first bishop of Antioch as well as of

Rome, and all the five patriarcfhates (before Rome went into schism

from the undivided Church) were of petrine provenance, Jerusalem from

his preaching on Pentecost, Alexandria first bishop Mark Peter's son,

Byzantiium from Andrew Peter's brother, Roman Christianity wasn't

founded by Peter but by converts bringing the faith to Rome ahead of

St. Paul, St. Peter dragged in last minute so to speak and organized

    before martyred

  • Agreed, and God bless you!!!

  • Lovely. This reminds me of our RC tradition of 'organum' where the Latin chant was harmonised in fifths and fourths, e.g. Viderunt Omnes of Leonin (XIVc).

  • I'm trying to hear who the Priest commemorates during the Great Entrance, but I can't make out what he's saying. Does anyone else hear?

  • I would say that this is Catholic Liturgy (Mise) not Orthodox. Orthodox is more powerful!

  • It is most definitely Catholic.

  • Is this under the Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic eparchy?

  • Yes, the Eparchy of Passaic.

  • yes

  • ...beautiful iconography..their musical setting of the "our father" is a classic melody of the russian orthodox church......

  • why was there a liturgy of St. John Chrysostom done at a Carmalite Convent?

  • This is a Byzantine Carmelite Convent

  • I wasn't aware there was such a thing.

  • I would very much like to see more videos of these wonderful sisters in chapel. Thank you for posting this. I have been hoping for recordings and video of the good sisters for years. So far I have found very little.

In the future, the placement of the microphone might need to be reconsidered. Some of the audio is a little difficult. Perhaps if the priest could be mic'd also...

Please keep them coming if you can!
