  • Disney lands locomotives are the cutest little steamers ever!

  • we are goiin to disnelyland in 24 days :D and i love thiis footage

  • @wendy9391 Thanks! Glad you liked it!!

  • This is the worst thing I have ever seen.

  • 9:56 nasty cough

  • Awesome

  • this is sniffmeland ride.

  • I've never been to Disneyland so I have no concept of the railroad's layout, but are there points along the railroad other than the depots, the entrance, and Small World at which Disneyland Railroad railfans can catch video of the train? I only ask because I haven't seen any video of the train except at those points.

  • @Glennishking There are one or two others. You can see one of them in my HD Disneyland RR video.

  • @CoasterFan2105

there are many points besides the station, you can see the train from the hm holiday fastpass(thats still a close view of nos station), splash mountain queue and welcome party scene, critter counrty trestle, the haungry bear restraut, canoe loading area and ride, mark twain, culumbia, tom sawyer island, big thunder ranch barbecue(sticking your hand over a fence), between toontown tunnel and station(pass over the chain) the monorail(you need luck) and autopia

  • @giladmarkman I think he was referring to places you can actually stand and get good photos of the train. And aren't all those you mentioned in critter country the same thing?

  • @CoasterFan2105

the splash mountain zip a dee lady is inside the tunnel out of NOS. and hungry bear restraunt is in the bgeginning of the wilderness section of the line(watch katzduncan's "disneyland railroad may 2010" to understand what i mean.(splash mountain queue is the actual trestle

  • @giladmarkman I understand what you are saying. I guess i just consider the queue for SM the same as the Hungry bear, as you can see the trestle from both.

  • @CoasterFan2105

the splash mountain welcome party is the zip-a-dee-doo-dah scene before the critter country trestle, the haungry bear restraunt and canoe area are at the beginning of the wilderness section and the splash mountain queue is a closer view of the trestle but you need to ride splash mountain to get the zip-a-dee-doo-dah/queue.

  • @giladmarkman Ah, ok.

  • I love the guys voice :) want to record it and put it on my ipod it's all so magical :)

  • @WolfPirncess101 Yes, it is!

  • my favorite is #2, the E.P. RIPLEY. if you check my channel you will find a complete cab ride video of it. i also like her LOUD whistle and cool stack talk

  • My daughter and I enjoyed watching this video, thanks for posting it.

  • Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

  • Hey check out my vids of the DRR

  • Nice One 5/5

  • Do you happen to know the actual music at 6:10? I know it's exclusive to the holiday season. I'd love to put that music or something similar in one of my new DRR videos.

  • that's actually from "Wal Disney's Parade of Dreams" (2005-2008)

  • I like the shots with C.K. Holliday at Main St and NOS.

  • Are these restored locomotives or were they built just for Disney? I read that the locomotives at Disney World in Florida are actuall restored locomotives.

  • All the ones at Disney World were indeed restored. At disneyland, the first 2 (C. K. Holiday # 1 and E.P. Ripley #2) were built on disney property back in 1954 while the other 3 are all restored locomotives.

  • @huettmr The locomotives were all built for other railroads, the first loco, the green one, was actuly built for a mining co. 2 others were built for South American Service

  • @Thenews72 That information is incorrect. Engines 1 and 2 are original to the Disneyland Railroad. Engines 3, 4, and 5 were acquired.

  • @CommunityBuildersSB You are correct. 1 and 2 were built in 1955. The rest were aquired from short lines, mainly hauling sugar cane. I think that person is thinking of Disney World.

  • Very nice trains ! Great footage !

    Thank you for posting .

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Neat little trains for sure Good video

  • Yes, they are!

  • This is one of my fav attr

  • Mine too

  • whats the point of this video just filmin the train arriving

  • To show people what the Disneyland Railroad looks like.

  • ok why didnt you just film it coming you riding it

so it would be worth watching??

  • I have another video of fiding it but unfortunately, I didn't have enough material to make it into a complete video, so I decided to show the trains at every station in order.

  • Hmmm..

    Every station

so what did you use to represent mickey's toontown station?

  • I didn't get any from the actual station, o I added a clip from the Small world area, which is right next to toon town, 6:10 in the video.

  • Well, I happen to work for the Disneyland Railroad. The engineers prefer not to do a tender if they have to switch out. It's not difficult to fill the tender with water when there are people there, the filling happens in the back, the guests sit in the front. It's more of a safety concern, so they just don't do it.

  • It's hard for them to get up on the tender. But this is just what one of the engineers told me.

  • You don't have to say "Tender Seats" to get a ride near the cab. You just have to ask and if the engineers are able to take on guests, then they will. They can't take people if they're switching out operators, taking on water, or doing a blow down.

  • Actually, they can if they are switching operators. It's minly just the watering: it makes it difficult for the crew to fill up the tank car if there are people in the way.

  • @REYNB013 is a blow down where they open the clyinder cocks? cuz when i was 3 , they did that and i shit my pants

  • @SQUIRALBOY43 That is correct.

  • C.K. Holliday is better than the other 4 engines!!! I have a pin of C.K. Holliday with Mickey and Pluto!!!

  • The best kept secret on those trains are that if you are at main street station, Try this: ask if you can ride in the cab. They will let you only if you ask using the words: "Tender Seats"

  • Why is Fred Gurley pulling the same coaches as Ernest S.Marsh and why is E.P. Ripley pulling the same coaches as Ward Kimball?

  • Because the clips were shot on different days.

  • And why is there only one shot of your favourite train?

  • Because the others turned out too dark or backlit. I was going to make another video with all my other shots, should I?

  • You mean you did many shots of the E.P. Ripley, but only one was perfect?

  • Only one was good enough to put into this viedo. I have two or three more shots of it...

  • yes, you should make another video

  • My favourite train is the #2 E.P. Ripley as it has a funny whistle. The paint is nice(better than the black-and-red paint of #1 and #5) and this is the best train with a cap stack on the DLRR

  • Please, C.K. Holliday and Ernest S. Marsh are better engines than the E.P. Ripley!!!

  • I think E.P. is just as good of an engine.

  • My favorite is C.K. and Ernest!! I used to like E.P., but after I rode C.K.'s tender I now hate E.P. Ripley.

  • What makes E.P. Ripley's tender ride so bad???

  • After I rode on C.K. Holliday on 4/19, that is when I offically hated the Holliday 2 "E.P. Ripley."

  • Why do you call it Holliday 2? Well if you were looking for a second C.K. Holliday then there's one in Paris Disneyland.

  • THe holliday 2 is actually one of the car sets. At disneyland, they name the car sets holliday 1, 2, 3, and 4.

  • The holliday two is one of the 4 car sets, not the locomotive.

  • I LOVE the C.K. Holliday and Ernest S Marsh parts. I rode the E.P. tender in January of 2008 and 2009 and rode the C.K. tender on 4/19/09! C.K. was better!

  • Cool! My favorite is the E.P. But I like all of them!

  • Which model?

  • Yes, it is.

  • Does anyone know of footage and audio of the grand circle tour before the year 2000?

I would like to hear the older narration.

  • Mike, so how did you like your trip to Disney? was it good?

  • Wow, you have to be wondering what some of these guys are thinking about they're jobs lol.

  • ???

  • What i meant to say, was did you enjoy yourself when you went in 06 & 07?

  • Good video; I always enjoy the Disneyland Railroad, it's pretty incredible that in Disneyland (of all places) you can experience live steam daily!

  • Walt Disney was a big railfan.

  • Wow. You spent all your time at Disneyland filming the trains rather than going on as many rides as you could get on??? LOL JK

Nice shots Mike. Just about 2 months ago, I went to Disneyland and rode on both the train and the monorail. It truly is the happiest place on earth huh?

    ~Steve

P.S. The scariest ride there is "The Scary Adventures of Snow White." Agree?

  • Haha! LOL! I just filmed them while I was waiting to ride them. They were filmed on 3 separate days.

  • Sure do! Lol. I went there just in 06' and LOVED It! I got cabrides on the MonoRail As well! :D

  • @Tracksider216 Agree, lol

  • @Tracksider216 it's snow white's scary adenture not the scary adventures of snow white.

  • @moviesperson100001 as long as you get the idea, right? haha i haven't thought of my comment since 3 years ago when i posted it. such a long time :)

  • what is the gauge there?

  • narrow , its like 3.5

  • ah thanks! eh how much is that in meters?

  • 3 feet is about 0.9144 meters.

  • ummm, a meter is 3 feet so a meter and then a few inches

  • 3 foot gauge. However, the trains are scaled down so the narrow gauge track will appear as "standard gauge"

  • how much are 3foot in metres?

  • Awesome video! You got some great shots! I have an hour or two of video from a tour I took in Orlando. It was awesome, but I don't know how to post it because its on film.

    Again awesome video!

    jim

  • GREAT! I like the first the most

  • It's nice! Isn't it?

  • Ward Kimball is my favorite. Love her paint, bell, and beautiful whistle.

Those whistles on the Holliday & Kimball are the most beautiful sound. The whistle on the Ripley isn't pulled open enough, the whistle on the Gurley sounds great, and the whistle on the Marsh sounds great when pulled open full. My favorite bell is on the Holliday, and the Holliday is tied with the Marsh as my second favorite. Ward Kimball is my favorite though.

  • Then now is the Gurley wearing the 3-chime Lunk or the 6-chime Detroit whistle?

  • In this video, it's a 3-chime Lunk.

  • Is this 3-chime Lunk the same as the one on #2?

  • Yes.

  • Fred Gurley is.

  • Just a magical video! Reminds me of a couple of visits some time ago. Thanks for the memories.

  • cool shot of the mono rail mike

  • Cool video, Mike! I like the Disney World Railroad in Florida better, though. They have bigger engines that they bought from a railroad in Mexico in the 1960s.

  • Did you take there "Behind our steam trains" tour?

  • Yep. Got to sit in the engineer's seat on the Roy O. Disney.

  • great video mike.

  • Thanks!

  • C.K. Holiday has the most commanding bell/most distinguished. Whistle's too high, though.

  • Love C.K. Holiday and E.P. Ripley. Fred Gurley and Ernest Marsh are gay little Forneys.

  • Hard core!

  • Nice video. I would love to go there for myself.
