Dear James May (2:16) it's not "nearly 200% proof", Proof is measured in degrees, so that's "nearly 200 degrees proof", except that pure alcohol would only be 175 degrees proof, and you simply can't use distillation alone to reach that concentration.
nb. the US "proof" is exactly twice AMV (alcohol by volume) which just goes to show they've lost touch with the original definition of proof (to do with lighting soaksed gunpowder).
