  • HELL YEA!!!!!!

  • 9999hp?

  • Got torque?

  • @5191keith

You're going off the way it sounds. Look at the hood, obviously it's not stock. However, if you've ever worked on GM vehicles, you will know that Oldsmomible, Pontiac, and Buick have a wider degree to the engine. A Chevy is tighter in the distance between each head. Therefore you will have a thicker cam noise, but as far as output and torque band you will never see a Chevy out perform a Buick,Olds,Pontiac. Chevy engines are cheap to build and that's why you see them in other GM cars

  • Don't forget the Buick Wildcat engines!

  • Try going round a corner in one of these pieces of turd......

  • @davvybing Uh, you do know that the GSX only weighs like 200 more pounds than a Nissan Skyline? The Buicks drift pretty well. I've had my Skylark around some tight corners pushing 100 Km/h without any problems.

  • @margolo lmao i know right :D I got a '68 Skylark and i scare the shit out of my friends when i take a 4,000 pound car around a 35mph turn doing about a 100mph. whoever thinks buicks don't handle great has never driven a real buick.

  • Only dislike is from the guy who lost

  • Great tune about Buicks and GS Stage Motors. Song called hemikiller.

    youtube.com/watch?v=UL4eX60i7MA

  • you wont see a damn civic doin that! hahaha gotta love them stage motors.. i dont know whos making parts for them these days, but Kenne Bell used to be the big time buick people.. now they are known for other stuff, but back in the day they ruled. gotta love a 10 second buick... goin fast with class, as they say #LOL

  • route 66? if so i was there....:)

  • that car pulled the front wheels for a LONG time, that's torque people!

  • omg its like the camera was sitting on the hood of one of these running cars.

  • @nilvlrod sorry, i was in the top row of the bleachers and i was zoomed in almost all the way. any little movement makes it look terrible

  • the 70 GSX produced 500 hp and 510 lb/lbs of torque. The MOST of any musclecar.

  • @jamn83 No, not really. It was rated at 365bhp, most of them when dyno'ed seem to pan out just above 415bhp. Although the Stage 2 prototypes were just shy of 610bhp.

  • @Arcticun chilton rated horsepower at the back of the engine in 1970, Buicks highest horse year was 500 hp, and 510 lb/ft of torque with the the 455 stage 1.

  • @jamn83 No, the Stage 1 did not produce 500hp, I know because I owned one before. At most, I'd say around 420bhp, and that's being generous. It's a sick engine, amazing torque and horsepower output but lets be realistic.

  • @Arcticun I believe you, but I too heard from somewhere about a stock Buick GS that produced 500 hp.

  • Nice wheelie!

  • Thats a kick ass kar. Could have gotten into low 9s or better if the front end would have stayed down.

  • 5 stars for the video! I have a new favorite muscle car now. The GSX is definitely superior to my old favorite, the 1970 Chevelle 454.

  • its the same body but more torque, and i agree lol

  • Plus the GSX engine was just huge. 455?! wtf. If they had done any extra shit such as DOHC it, We all know it would have whooped everything. Even a 460 or 427 Ford would have came close. but still wouldn't have beat it. The GSX was not small. That's where Ford shined, just making little cars. For instance; the Cobra. If someone stuck this 455 in a little car like that it would blow away everything.

  • Buick owns. don't compare anything to GM. The Cheetah or the Hennessey beat the shit out of anything depending on the sizes of the cars.

  • Looks like manpalmquest gets punked on a regular basis. Just stopping by and someone else has shown him his ass too about torque and horseys. I bet he will wait till Christmas to get those starter set of wrenches from Wally World. I bet hiw mama gets him a set of pink Barbie wrenches so he can work on Ken's Corvette. You know....the one with all the homo I mean hemi horsepower that he has horsepower theories on. Bwahahahahahahahahah

  • seriously, get help you sick fuck. My 12 year old brother knows more then you

  • Thats pretty sad that your 12 year old brother is telling you about muscle cars. That explains your stupid remarks. You are as ignorant as the day is long...not just about muscle cars on engines in general, but about everything. Does he also tell you about spongebob? Thats more your speed. Oh I remember now....you rely on him for wrenching instructions on Ken's pink Corvette you are getting all souped up for your new Barbie doll. Picking up some new Barbie twat, huh?

  • Hey Manny...when is the next "Romper Room Follies Hour" show starting? Does your 12 year old brother host this week or is it your turn? Please give us some new formulas on horseys. Use your Ken pink Corvette as an example that you mechanic on with those Wally World wrenches your mom (HO HO HO) gets you for Christmas.

Tell her (HO HO HO mom) I said hello. She'll know what you mean.

    Bye Manny.

  • u guys are retards

i know this guy his name is joe riv and he runs 9.50s as u can see as his dial

and he used to have a big buick engine until he meet my uncle that has a 67 buiuck gs which also runs 9.50s but joe decided to switch cause he keep going tru the buick motors plus the where not cheap

so he put a big block chevy in it and has no problems

  • The big block Buick was a great motor, but you Buick guys want to compare them w/ a 426 Hemi? Thats laughable, If you want to compare them to a Mopar, a 440 would be a better comparison.

  • You are right. 426 Hemis should be compared to a small block 350. I mean a 426 Hemi is a slug. I know about 426 Hemis cause I used to just smack them around in a 70 Chevelle SS 350. 455 Buick is the best big engine ever. 454 Rat is the second best. 426 Hemi lol. My 455 Buick runs a 9.70 in a 71 Skylark.

  • you must be joking, my slant six eats a 350, the worlds most overrated engine

  • mannepalm: That makes the Hemi look even worse because it just gets eaten alive by a 350. Glad you reaffirmed my post about how weak a 426 hemi is. See, I don't have a problem in recognizing a faster engine even when it is a slant 6. I just wish those ignorant hemi guys understood the concept of those hemi engines being so weak and slow. Thanks for your help.

  • how can you call a Hemi weak and slow? except for the Zl1 chevy has never produced any engine even close to the hemi. the 454 Ls6 at 450 horses was a joke against 425 Hemi horsepowers!

  • Keep on dreaming chumsley. Are you comparing a small block to a big block? I have a 455 putting down 735 horseys and over 900 ft lbs of torque. Torque is what moves you. '70 LS6 454 is a dead tie with the 70 Buick GSX Stage II in being the two baddest muscle cars ever. Hemi's are not even mentioned. Again, my SS 350 mopped the floor with a 426 many times. Talk all you want but it is fact. Slant 6, LOL Put up a 292 Chevy straight 6 against it anyday. I got one and it runs with 90's GT's.

  • did you skip some classes in school?

Horsepower moves the car, Torque creates horsepowers mooran, go home and fuck yourself

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOL......with that statement you have shown something. 1) You know nothing about engines or racing 2) You don't know where your mama is...cause I ain't into doing it to myself and your mama can vouch for that.

    Anything more, skippy?

  • you have showed that you clearly missed

    Power in Kw(1.36 Horsepower)=

    Torque * Rpm * Pi (3.14) / 30 000.

As you can se, Torque is only used for creating horsepower, Torque is a variable fact, that changes in Gearing. Horsepower, stays the same, and can never be increased without tuning the engine, a gearchange will not change the horsepower, but the Torque on the wheels will increase.

so again, Fuck you and hello horay to the Chrysler 426 Hemi!

  • Keep on showing how ignorant you are!!! It is funny!!!! Tell your mom I said hello. She'll know what you mean.

  • I prefer to wave bye bye to 426 hemis. It is easy to do. Just get a good 350 LT1 and its see 'ya mrs. hemi. LOLOLOL

I can tell that by your choice of four letter words you don't have much education. Plus your ideas on what moves a car is added fuel for your ignorant fire. You are cute though. It is a shame that you are so stupid. You could have a career in Romper Room Follies if not for your potty mouth.

  • how old are you, cause i hope you are about 13 with just a stupid father.

when you can come with some proof that torque moves the car, and therby wins(since you have to move the car to win) i will listen.

  • I don't need to prove the obvious to anyone who knows anything about engines. Get you a starter set of wrenches from Wal Mart and start out on bikes, move to push mowers and then to bigger and better things. Learn the basics and you will have your proof. All your useless chitter chatter isn't proving anything but how big of an idiot you really are. You are so cute when your panties get wadded up due to your ignorance. Have a nice life, mechanic boy and learn about engines. LOLOLOL

  • I guess not, but you may have went to the wrong school.

Torque is the only thing that a driver feels.

Engines dont make horsepower; they convert fuel into torque. Torque is the twisting force imparted to the crank flange and then transmitted to the transmission and the rest of the drivetrain. To some degree torque is the grunt that gets things moving, and horsepower is the force that keeps things moving.

    Your wrong.

  • yes, Torque on the wheels is everything, in that we agree. But torque changes thru gears, horsepowers doesnt,

    Horsepowers accelerates the car.

  • I thought torque accelerates the car. Horsepower is just a measurement of energy, like watts. You can actually convert watts to horsepower and see how much HP it takes to light a 60watt bulb. Torque is a measurement of leverage, the amount of force being exherted on an object. The more torque you have on an object, the faster you can accelerate it.

  • Flushie: That is correct what you say. Watch out for manpalmquest though. He is going to give us a lesson in horseys and how it works. Let's all pull up a chair for the "Romper Room Follies" hour where Manny pulls out his know how on engines.

  • @FlushieJohnson so can my 430 360 hp 475 torque beat a 396 with 375 hp and 425 torque

  • @thugstylef Its possible but the question is not how much power the engine makes, its how much power makes it to the ground and how does that power compare to the weight of the vehicle. Transmission, differential, tire size, etc are all major components. It also depends on what you mean by "beat". 1/8 mile drag? 1/4 mile drag? circle track? Every race is diff and every vehicle is diff.

  • @FlushieJohnson that's true but more HP = more speed. You can have 50000 ft/lbs of torque but only 5hp. That means that you'll be able to move a fucking house but it will do so very slowly. now if you had 500000hp but only 5ft/lbs, then you go go INSANELY fast, but it can't move hardly any weight. Car engines have the ideal balance of hp and torque. The have enough torque to move the car at low RPMs but have enough horsepower to make you move quickly at high RPMs

  • @FlushieJohnson

yep, torque, a force on a object that causes it to rotate.... XD, horsepower, a measurement of energy.

  • And both of them were a joke compared to Fords 427 Cammer "hemi" with 700 factory rated hp.

Also the reason Buicks were so fast was because of TORQ, which is as if not more important than hp.

  • and the ford was a joke compared to The Dohc Hemi, yeah it existed.

  • Nice try, they only made 2 and neither of them ever ran on their own power. It was just hooked to an electic motor to test valve timing etc. I could counter with any prototype engine that "never ran" if you want to play that game.

Fords 427 Cammer was the best that ever came out of detroit with dyno results and proof. PERIOD.

  • And Buicks GSX or a stage 1 was beating hemis without a hemi head design or overhead cams. Pretty impressive for such a large heavy car.

  • I didn't know a slant 6 was overated. Fact, never hear of one unless you buy a dodge diplomat or a plymouth volare. Overated? Naa....just use a lot of oil.

  • A slant six is underrated, not a high Performance engine, but you cant kill it.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE volare!! haha omg i havent heard of those in years. it was my older sistrs first car back in the mid80s... it was a pile, but it always started and ran smooth. ill give it that much haha!

  • What happened to the Buick.

  • wheel stands!!!!!

  • where was this guy when hot rod magazine did the hemi vs buick article?

  • i missed it. What happened? What issue is it in?

  • A heavely modified Roadrunner with a 492ci hemi beat a midley hopped gsx by little less than 1 second in the quarter mile and now the hemi guys think they're all big shots

  • Yea nice video

  • Bone stock!

  • a bone stock gsx cant even get under 13, retard

  • Sorry about you being a retard. You do not have to let us know. I would keep that quiet if I were in your shoes. Oh and yeah....put some DR's on a GSX when it is BONE stock. Hello 12's. Add 4.11's and you are flirting with high 11's. This guy ran a 10.05 and he let off before the finish. Look at it closely, chumsley.

  • this aint a bone stock buick, a brand new Zr1 vette has problems beating the 11s, do you think the gsx is over 600 horsepower, and faster then a Zl-1 Camaro?

    Dream on fucktard.

  • haha.

  • LMMFAO!!! Buick gave the other car a head start, and still kicked its ass!!! 5/5

  • did you see it pull the wheelie it had something done while the other one was prob stock or somthing
