@77wimmut. If he cut the power he would have lost power needed to level the plane up, let alone flare it, and the force the plane would have touching down would do serious damage to the gear.
In a way i still kinda think he had it under control cause he didn't burner it or anything just cold power to recover and really if it was in Serbia or somewhere nobody would have cared...
That is clearly a controlled maneuver and a remarkable one at that, and to me it doesn't matter what craft shows up in these airshows, all the machines are amazingm, though regarding the typhoon to you english chaps, if one were to chase me with plans t shoot me down and able to do the maneuvers it's famous for, I will make sure my craft can go into high orbit before I let that monster near me .. lol .. It is not just engine power that got him out of that but also ground effect - he probably knows that plane like his own body - I doubt very much that was a mistake - rather he just pushed it further than usual - you can see how quickly the jet bounces up when the engine blast hits the floor - there is no way that plane was going to hit once it was pointed nose up.
I was there for this. If you look you can see a b-52 in the background, that was my ride. Anyway, when that plane landed, maintainers were on it like flys on shit. Then he had to go back up and finish his show so he could preform during the air show.
@ylad1999 Think before you speak mongtin, it is clear that he almost smacks the ground and it wasnt part of the show. I have worked on many fast jets and his rate of descent was a bit too much. There is boundaries and limitations which was clearly crossed and thats why ATC cut the Typhoon show short so they can give biggles a smack on the bum!!
haha they broke the wings last year doing the same move at RIAT, cause in this case the G force limiter prevented the pilot pulling back hard enough, so for the last few years theyve had no limiters, but this year, the A/C was grounded after it went way over the G limit :L
Yes he is an experienced pilot and he wouldn't deliberately pancake it, however he did fuck up and had miss set the pressure setting and/or airfield elevation. It was only the sheer power of the engines that prevented him from pancaking it.

hawker sidley which also assisted douglas with there harrier.
english electric (responseable for the first supersonic bomber the canberra and the lightning)
we also had the most sucsessful engine in the world war 2 campaign THE ROLLS ROYCE 'MERLIN'
americans can't complain about the merlin it whooped the prat and whitney and the wright engines of its era and they used it on the most succesfull plane in ww2 the North american p51 mustang with the merlin.
in theory it would be possible to make a soft pancake landing on a dime, somebody will pull it off one day, maybe even a reverse pancake, like turning the plane to brake like a rocketlander
I saw the same thing on another video with same plane in the USA, maybe its just its party piece. it looked a bit deliberate to me and he didnt bail out when most people would.
Feb and Fab 350ºSquadron .. join the american front.. with 25.000 mans when 15.000 go to the front lines..
Fab - destroy 85% of German ammunition dumps , 15% tanks, armored vehicles ... just the Fab of brasil .. completed 5% of american air force in ww2...
ours pilots.. was condecorated with the medal presidential Iuriti Saidsko ... Brazil is the only country who ..send troopers .. and pilots .. in WW2.. much of us.. fight with americans, canadians, frenchs, italians... FAB
@IronPump89 You are forgetting the reason why he made that comment in the first place duh. If a Brazilian is going to show up on our vids trying to insult our technology then expect to be told. It's not just the military lol. Europe has done far more for the world than what Brazil could do in 10,000 years. I really don't think South Americans should be trying to mock us when they use our technology on a daily basis :0
@TheARMAProductions Yes you are pretty right about that. I had the same opinion before getting my brasilian gf, she tought me many things and I realize that we in Europe are big ignorants. You see, brazil is different than the rest of South America. In the culture too. Altough they have serious problems like criminality, they are far more ahead in things like being much more against racism, sexism or war than in europe. And if you think they mock us, take a look at Embaer for example. cheers

@IronPump89 It's the same old story mate...peope are cool...it's the leaders that fuck it all up. Brazil is on Argentina's side so I hope you're not British as we may be going to war with Brazil sooner than you can imagine.
Many young Brazlians are going to have to die before they even reach those islands but that's what they wanna start? Bring it on as I'm sure our SSN's want feeding....
@TheARMAProductions Dude I am half german, half greek and I always loved england becaused I lived in London a few months in the 90s. But, there is no chance of England attacking Brazil. Saddly enough, the once glorious british navy has decayed and there is simly no money. Plus Brazil is on its way to be a super-power and I am sure they have a huge army with the best equipment. So a war between GB and BR would end up as a disaster.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@IronPump89 Where did I say we would attack Brazil? I said that if Brazil tries to invade the Falklands they would be on the recieving end of hunter killer attack subs...just like the Belgrano :) Maybe you can explain to us what brazil has that can combat the UK's SSN's (nuke subs)?
Do you really think we would just surrender to Argentina/brazil if they attacked the Falklands? Wishfull thinking as with the Argies in 1982 mate :)
The UK is already dug in on those islands and it's like a military base there. This means the emphasis would be on Argentina/Brazil to attack and not vica versa (this should be pretty obvious lol). They would have to invade by sea and would be open to SSN attack. No ship in the world can detect our SSN's and this is a reality. Just ask the family of the Belgrano sailers :) Any soldier that made it ashore woiuld then be facing a battle hardened/pro army...
Are you seriously tellign us that a nation like brazil, who last saw battle in WW2 would stand a chance at defeating a well dug in, high tech, professional, battlehardened force like the UK? The Royal Navy doesn't have to be what it once was to fend opff an attack mate lol. I seriously recommend you take allok at the experience and the assets of each nation. Brazil has to rely on European weapons for starters. Do u really think Europe will continue to sell them weapons with our SSN's there?
@IronPump89 Also..we have SSBNS's there. One of these has more firepower than what was unleashed in the whole of WW2. Dude...you are seriously undestimating the UK and this is exactly what the Argies did...at their peril ofc. This is why we are digging the oil there and there's not a thing anyone can do about it :)
Brazil doesn't have the best kit in the world lol. they buy all their stuff from Europe.
@Iron Basically, the UK has the ability to attack the Brazilian mainland at a time of it's choosing. Brazil does not have the capability to do the same back. You would only becorrect if the UK tried to invade Brazil but that's not what we wish to do. We just want the oil in the Falklands. If the Brazilinas want it then that's cool but they're gonna have to fight for it. The question is...when was the last time they saw combat and are they ready to 'really' fight? Real war is different to games.
@IronPump89 This is why i tend to avoid these kinds of debates as people can't back up what they post. They just speak from a nationalistic perspective without going into any detail (as 9/10 they can't). Brazil is an energy power...not a military one. Having lots of conscripted school children in their army and relying on UK's allies for weapons is one thing...when boots hit the ground....the reality kicks in. The oil in the Falklnds is ours and shall remain so.....
@IronPump89 In europe you're ´big ignorants? Mate, please, shut your mouth and try to see the rest of Brazil. The one your girlfriend might have forgot to talk about...
I'm stuck in this stupid disiase infested, seldom thinking, ignorant people nest, hot tube soccer home until my italian citzenship be recognized, and I hate every bloody minute of it.
Brazilians can't even conjugate verbs properly. And this is serious! Ask your girl about it.
@fabaum22 Oh shit.... I have heard about this story with the italian citizenship. My gf said you get in a list and have to wait about 10-15 years, no joke. I wish you the best with this. I have never been there, so I dont know. I was just saying they tend to be a bit more peacefull, compared to the war-thirsty europeans. And that they are less passive in some things, at least IMO
@IronPump89 Don't get me wrong, this country has this and that to be proud of. Being colonized by Portugal, having the best driver in the world, having the second best culinary(Italy beats it, obviously), being responsable for airplanes and so on. But no, brazilians don't bother for any of that. Here's about football and carnival. It only gest worse if you're an atheist. And I am, yey. In the other hand, yes, yes, yes, they're peaceful and friendly!
@fabaum22 hmmm I used to live in greece, but since 4 years I am in germany for the uni (my father is greek, mother is german).
Well its nice to hear about that from another point view. Guess its not all so perfect like my gf told me^^ She was also shocked that there are many atheists in germany haha. But, who cares? Maybe in Brazil things differ alot from city to city, the south and the north or so...
Anyway I still prefer to be in Italy, I go almost every year!
whats the problem here?? none, as far as i can see. this is the R.A.F., so....no problem. did he crash?? no.. therefore no problem. after all,, we are the best flying force in the whole damned world. no problem. have a wonderful day.
holy smokes he almost ate it. If he had hit, at best the pilot would have come out of that about three inches shorter and with a lifetime of VA chiropractors. Glad he was ok.
Oh he knew what he was doing. In case you didn't know, these boys train for a whole year and it costs 90k dollars to train them...he could land that thing on a pancake if he needed to.
@baze1018 No mate its definately 90k - its only £2million if you want all the extras on your plane - like heated seats........also can cost up to 750k more if you want a good callsign. like pitbull, merlin, or thundercake.
Something happened like this in Canada recently. A pilot was doing a high alpha pass (using his engines as a main source of lift) in a cf-18 and pancaked it, luckily he ejected in time.
@elidcarter -"Something happened like this in Canada recently"
Not the same. This EF pilot simply came too close to the ground before pulling up. He still had enough energy (i.e. speed), not to mention luck, allowing him to pull up.
The CF-18 was doing a slow speed, hi-alpha pass when one of the engines quit. Had no chance of recovery due to the plane being in a near-zero energy state. Exact same thing happended years ago to a MiG-29. A bird in the engine was to blame in that incident.
@zeek997733 my mate was an engeneer on the plane and was there when this happened, he said that the pilot was meant to land but the landing gear wouldn't come down, the computer picked this up and took over fired the thrust and saved the plane and pilot. He also siad that the plane is virtually computer flown anyway.i doubt the F-22 would be able to get a missle lock on the Eurofighter, this film practically shows the manouvres its capable of, F-22 is awesome though.
@em745aa - yeah, yeah you know everything - my mate is a eurofighter technician and they had a run with one eurofighter and 4 F-22,s and not one got missle lock, you'll be telling me the new navy seal stealth boat is better thn ours next!
The F-22 is a unreal plane but the eurofighter is designed to be unstable thats why it can do things in dogfights no other plane can do.
@SNOTTYBOTTY -"yeah, yeah you know everything - my mate is a eurofighter technician"
Ahhhh! My favorite "I know this 'expert' that knows shit that you don't" defense. The best one on YouTube. I never get tired of it. :)
-"and they had a run with one eurofighter and 4 F-22,s"
And I have an uncle who works as a USAF engine techie, and he told me last year that they had a "run" with one F-22 and EIGHT Tiffies. ALL ten Tiffies were killed and none of them ever knew what hit them. :D
The Pilot was doing this "Stunt" to show off the capabilities of the plane and is done all the time in the Air Show's The plane takes off and goes into a loop, almost landing. He over cooked it slightly and almost piled it into the ground.
Oddly however the Pilot didn't get chewed up for doing the stunt and almost crashing the plane (the officers liked it so much, they asked him to do it again!) he got chewed up for not ejecting as he carried on flying even though the alarms told him to eject!
yep, the pilot wanted too much. He was a star anyway, piloting such a jewel.. ASSHOOOOOOOOOLE!!! I will always be so jealous of those guys, and so angry to not have had the eyes to fly THIS! Props are nice, but...... but......... but.......
Ok, he messed up....but at least lets give the guy a credit for not pushing the "eject" button, i dont think that many pilots could hold their nerves in such a situation.... :s
I'm bored lets all start a really mature arguement about whos planes are the best and whos country is the best.......................I come from switzerland and i fly a space shuttle with big missiles on the wings....anyone beat that?
@wooders1000 A space shuttle i can beat that i fly the moon and can hover it better than anyone. Also when i'm feeling adventurous i fly a hybrid submarine beat that.
@wooders1000 -I come fromEngland and have an invisible, indistrutable plane capable of light speed and it destroys anything I think of at the moment I think of it.
I know the yanks have got one more invisible, more indistructable and can destroy things even quicker but I haven't seen it for myself yet.

hawker sidley which also assisted douglas with there harrier.
english electric (responseable for the first supersonic bomber the canberra and the lightning)
we also had the most sucsessful engine in the world war 2 campaign THE ROLLS ROYCE 'MERLIN'
americans can't complain about the merlin it whooped the prat and whitney and the wright engines of its era and they used it on the most succesfull plane in ww2 the North american p51 mustang with the merlin.

in theory it would be possible to make a soft pancake landing on a dime, somebody will pull it off one day, maybe even a reverse pancake, like turning the plane to brake like a rocketlander

TheARMAProductions 11 months ago

TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
@TheARMAProductions Dude I am half german, half greek and I always loved england becaused I lived in London a few months in the 90s. But, there is no chance of England attacking Brazil. Saddly enough, the once glorious british navy has decayed and there is simly no money. Plus Brazil is on its way to be a super-power and I am sure they have a huge army with the best equipment. So a war between GB and BR would end up as a disaster.

TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
@IronPump89 Let me explain...
TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
Are you seriously tellign us that a nation like brazil, who last saw battle in WW2 would stand a chance at defeating a well dug in, high tech, professional, battlehardened force like the UK? The Royal Navy doesn't have to be what it once was to fend opff an attack mate lol. I seriously recommend you take allok at the experience and the assets of each nation. Brazil has to rely on European weapons for starters. Do u really think Europe will continue to sell them weapons with our SSN's there?
TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
@IronPump89 Also..we have SSBNS's there. One of these has more firepower than what was unleashed in the whole of WW2. Dude...you are seriously undestimating the UK and this is exactly what the Argies did...at their peril ofc. This is why we are digging the oil there and there's not a thing anyone can do about it :)
Brazil doesn't have the best kit in the world lol. they buy all their stuff from Europe.
TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
@Iron Basically, the UK has the ability to attack the Brazilian mainland at a time of it's choosing. Brazil does not have the capability to do the same back. You would only becorrect if the UK tried to invade Brazil but that's not what we wish to do. We just want the oil in the Falklands. If the Brazilinas want it then that's cool but they're gonna have to fight for it. The question is...when was the last time they saw combat and are they ready to 'really' fight? Real war is different to games.
TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
@IronPump89 This is why i tend to avoid these kinds of debates as people can't back up what they post. They just speak from a nationalistic perspective without going into any detail (as 9/10 they can't). Brazil is an energy power...not a military one. Having lots of conscripted school children in their army and relying on UK's allies for weapons is one thing...when boots hit the ground....the reality kicks in. The oil in the Falklnds is ours and shall remain so.....
TheARMAProductions 11 months ago
@IronPump89 In europe you're ´big ignorants? Mate, please, shut your mouth and try to see the rest of Brazil. The one your girlfriend might have forgot to talk about...
I'm stuck in this stupid disiase infested, seldom thinking, ignorant people nest, hot tube soccer home until my italian citzenship be recognized, and I hate every bloody minute of it.
Brazilians can't even conjugate verbs properly. And this is serious! Ask your girl about it.
fabaum22 10 months ago
@fabaum22 Oh shit.... I have heard about this story with the italian citizenship. My gf said you get in a list and have to wait about 10-15 years, no joke. I wish you the best with this. I have never been there, so I dont know. I was just saying they tend to be a bit more peacefull, compared to the war-thirsty europeans. And that they are less passive in some things, at least IMO
IronPump89 10 months ago
@IronPump89 Don't get me wrong, this country has this and that to be proud of. Being colonized by Portugal, having the best driver in the world, having the second best culinary(Italy beats it, obviously), being responsable for airplanes and so on. But no, brazilians don't bother for any of that. Here's about football and carnival. It only gest worse if you're an atheist. And I am, yey. In the other hand, yes, yes, yes, they're peaceful and friendly!
well, I'm curious now... Where're you from?
fabaum22 10 months ago
@fabaum22 hmmm I used to live in greece, but since 4 years I am in germany for the uni (my father is greek, mother is german).
Well its nice to hear about that from another point view. Guess its not all so perfect like my gf told me^^ She was also shocked that there are many atheists in germany haha. But, who cares? Maybe in Brazil things differ alot from city to city, the south and the north or so...
Anyway I still prefer to be in Italy, I go almost every year!

Something happened like this in Canada recently. A pilot was doing a high alpha pass (using his engines as a main source of lift) in a cf-18 and pancaked it, luckily he ejected in time.
elidcarter 1 year ago

Sorry, but the F-22 easily ourmaneuvers any current fighters out there, including the EF.

SNOTTYBOTTY 1 year ago
@SNOTTYBOTTY -"yeah, yeah you know everything - my mate is a eurofighter technician"
Ahhhh! My favorite "I know this 'expert' that knows shit that you don't" defense. The best one on YouTube. I never get tired of it. :)
-"and they had a run with one eurofighter and 4 F-22,s"
And I have an uncle who works as a USAF engine techie, and he told me last year that they had a "run" with one F-22 and EIGHT Tiffies. ALL ten Tiffies were killed and none of them ever knew what hit them. :D
em745aa 1 year ago
-"but the eurofighter is designed to be unstable"
F-16, 18SH, 117, Rafale, Gripen, 35/JSF, _AND_ F-22 are all "unstable" designs.
For the umpteenth time, the Tiffie is by no means unique in this regard.
-"thats why it can do things in dogfights no other plane can do"
Sigh... I see it's time to trot this out again:
watch?v=k0CPPlFk4Yo
Note that the F-22 can perform these exact same moves with or without an 8 AtA missile load.
