@bsch101 not 100% sure but i would assume he has a fishman power-bridge or some other similar device fitted on his les paul, its an acoustic pickup mounted in the bridge of the guitar and you can use it as a full acoustic pickup or choose to blend it with the normal pickups in the guitar. That or he just uses an acoustic simulator pedal but it sounds to good to be that.
