@bornneya You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me Godfather. Instead you come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married and you ask me this question.
@DSOTM73 I'm YOUR MY OLDER BROTHER AND I WAS stepped over. I can handle things. IM SMART, not like everyone says...like dumb..... im smart and I WANT RESPECT!!
Al Fabrizio's mandolin and Hugo Wainzinger's guitar and arrangements take listeners on a wonderful romantic journey throughout Italy...passionate, warm, happy and authentic. Love their albums!
lol, its so wierd yo, Hugo is my uncle, and i still cant believe i found him on youtube, anyone know where else i can find him, cause i cant find him online anywhere else and i like showing him to my friends
i love this song played with the mandolin and guitar, im turkish and we have a similar instrument called the baglama. the greeks surely know what i mean. peace from Turchia
Sirs, you would do excellent in weddings. I would hire you for mine if I could. Makes me wish I never stopped playing mandolin when my father used to make me play at 6 years age.
Bello..io sono di Guatemala di famiglia siciliana ( padre) and not all " spics" say Da..just those fuckers you have in your country . you racist fucks...Vafanculo a loro due...mezzo " spic" e " terrone" con orgoglio
i bet you don't even speak fucking italian you prick..io invece sono di Guatemala di famiglia Siciliana allora non tutti latini siamo " spics" forze la merda che c'e in tuo paesi grandissimo figlio da Puttana che non c'e l'hai la sangue terrona in te
sono securo che tu non sei italiano stronzo, i am guatemalan , family side sicilian and not all " spics" say Da...probablilmente solo la merda che c'e nell tuo paese americano da merda, sono securo che non ci parli italiano anche ci pichia...
I don't think the godfather was meant to show a negative image of Italians, it was just a movie about the mafia. it wasn't saying all italians were involved in the mob, the fact of the matter is, the mafia originated in Sicily and in the early parts of Italian immigration the only way to get ahead was to be affiliated with the mafia. The Godfather just aimed to be an accurate, yet entertaining depiction of that.
I have to mention that the movie was not made to portray Italians in a negative light. The movie was made to portray the way the Italians used to operate. Italians actually did what was done in the movie. If that is negative then it is not the directors or producers fault.
It's not true that italians made that negative things that appears in the movie. A lot of things that in general the foreign people about italy are "pizza, mandolino, mafia. torre di pisa, colosseo, ecc...", but a lot of things aren't true: for example, actually there are only 20 mandolins orchestras (in Japan there are more than 1000!) and it's not true that everywhere there is mafia. I'm sicilian, and I never see a member of mafia, fight for pride, or other thing like that in my life ;-)
It is the fault of the people of Italy during that time. If the Italians don't want to be remembered like that then they should not have acted like that. You cannot change the facts of a movie just because it may hurt someones feelings. That is called historical revisionism and it is wrong.
This is the way the theme should be played. Just doesn't sound right on guitars, has to be mandolin. Could you please add Nino Rota tags, he is the composer of this.
I know.. I am ashamed of the Godfather movies because it portrays Italians (especially Sicilians) in a negative way, but man oh man, this song (it actually has a name-- Brucia la Terra) makes me proud to be Sicilian!!!!

Too bad these beautiful melodies are used to frame negative connotations of people of Italian descent ... through that series of movies and more.
