I also saw this last night on an old Top of the Pops last night. Nice tune, however, the chorus vocals are too forced, over powering and schreechy. it was a live performance so all credit to them but I feel that being live let it down which is probably why it was never a hit.
@Erebos29 Have tried to find it without success. However, if you download Realplayer you can then download this YT vid and from there convert the audio to mp3 using FoxTab video to mp3 converter which is a free to download converter program.
I love this song and dug out my old vinyl copy sadly scratched to death but still playable what a huge voice!!! I think number 43 was as high as it got but when you mention it to most people they say who? They don't know what they missed
Ths brilliant track was too early. Punk was beginning to wipe pop/glam off the map and disco didn't really hit until 77. Amazing vocalists both of them.
@markdelaney disco had been massive since 1974 and a look at any repeat of 1975/76 Top of the Pops will show the charts full of disco/funk and soul like no other time before or since
For me, one of my favourite tracks of the seventies. Why, oh why is this not played on the radio anymore ? The vocals and melody are simply OUTSTANDING. Many thanks for sharing !
Thanks so much for posting this - bought the 7" single back in 76 but have nothing to play it on these days!! Crying shame that none of their stuff is available on CD or for download
This is one of my absolute all time favourites! I never thought I would ever hear it again. Doreen Chanter has a fantastic voice. I can also remember seeing it performed live on tv. Thank you so much, banyera
I would love to have seen this performed live.........(goes GREEN with ENVY) - I just adore this song too........Happy Memories............THX........xxx
Great stuff! I remember seeing them perform this on TV and being blown away. Dashed out to the record store the next day and bought it. That was me hooked. Try flipping Band of Gold and listen to the absolutely sublime Blue Jean Days. A vocal performance second to none.
I bought this when released..........have worn out one copy............and Jealous as hell of deathlord1111 , that this is his aunts................AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Can't believe this only made it to number 43 in the charts! Great song! But then again the summer of 1976 was an epic time for music.

One of the best songs I've heard and that's saying a lot as I'm right into heavy rock. It's always been a favourite of mine.
