I don't think that's true at all. People buy Apple products because Apple designs things well, and creates products that are user friendly to a lot of people. That's the key to their broadening appeal and success.

i think that this is just a digital calender with a internet access. It is very simple device to store all data from people and make it easy to combine it with some multimedia: pictures, voice messages. It is perfect device to make things in order.

Apple will be more accurate on drawing and picture editing. If you can say about editing on such a small display.

The old guy is out of it. He has no clue what he's talking about. If it runs on any kind of windows OS derivative, then its just another PC, it just depends on how locked up it will be. I personally hate anything that powerful being locked in to one set of features or having no way of modifying the GUI (at least give me themes) If this is open source then Apple is good as dead. but as usual i have to state that this is just a nintendo DS.

I don't get what the guys says about it being a book reader or a gaming device. I have no doubt it could be more than that but the video from Gizmodo clearly shows that it's more of a tool for productivity and multi-tasking.

Windows Mobile 7 (now called Windows Phone) isn't going to be out in a few weeks, that will be Windows Mobile 6.5. Windows Mobile 7 is next year. They're getting much more hands on with the hardware companies to make sure that only devices that can optimize WinMo7 are sold with it. They're going to maintain 2 builds in the market. WinMo7 will be only for premium devices and experience. WinMo6.5 will be for everything else. No more coding for the lowest common denominator.

I can wait to see more information on this. Microsoft has been taking control of things they release lately and they're making solid devices.

I'd like to see this have another input method where you could turn it side ways and use the lower screen as a keyboard with the upper as the monitor.

iPod Touch is a PMP that can play games, not a gaming device. iPhone is a phone that can run Apps, some of which happen to be games, not a gaming device. Apple has nothing to compete with the Xbox 360.

you can install windows on an apple machine and play pc games... so in a sense, apple does have a gaming device.

- a year ago it was an mp3 player with gaming capabilities

- Now it is a handheld gaming device with mp3 player abilities

why not just come out and say "we havent done anything to the ipod, it is the same thing as a year ago, and there is no point dwelling on its capabilities since they havent changed.

But instead, they put a spin on it to make it sound new, despite being old hat.
