Y'know, it may not be marked as a horror game, but there's a lot of horror-like elements in Metroid Fusion. You're wandering around an abandoned base, being hunted by a creepy virus-infected super-powerful version of you...

While you're weak and unable to do more than run and desperately try and find a solution...

And then near the end you learn that there's multiple SA-X things running round the base!

Metroid Fusion is full of nightmare fuel. Nightmare, SA-X, the spider...and others...

But MGS does actually recognize your controller, how its positioned etc. So if you dont do it you dont move on. There's also scenes where you have to plug your controller out to continue and such, or shake it fast. Pretty darn immersive, to be honest.
