  • I hooked mine into the back of my TV and the screen just blinks when I turn it on, but doesn't actually work. Yet, my XBox works just fine when I hook it up there. I don't have an HD TV, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

  • dude we need to know how to hook it up to a hdtv...

  • @kenslog I have no idea to do this. :|

  • Mine isnt working i put my rf adapter plug screw thingy in the vcr and the one that said to tv in the vcr too. should i put my red yellow white plugs into the tv or what? I have a hdtv please help!

  • @xxxSLAUGHTERMAN Try just the RF adapter and then just the Multi out adapter.

  • Orcania--LOL

  • How would you hook it up to a flat screen with a built-in DVD player? I have an RFU adapter but their is no hole for it on the TV, is their an adapter for that adapter?

  • @comedygal21 no you need an Multiout RCA they are 4 bucks on my website. Be advised it may still have troubles as newer TV's are rejecting older system video

  • I love this video!

  • @196863lt Thanks

    Ken

  • i'm having trouble setting mine up. i have the RF-unit auto switch for connection to the tv. it has a black wire for 'to tv' and a little nob bit for 'ant in' ive tried hooking it up through the vcr but it doesnt pick up the 64 and that was into a HD flat screen tv. then i tried setting it up through a set top box to a non hd flat screen but it doesnt work either. Do i need to buy another cable bit or is it something else? Please Help!!

  • @MissEmilyMargaret Possibly the cable but might be a dirty game. Do you get a flicker when you turn on the system or nothing at all?

  • @kenslog I got a flicker when i go back and forth on the channel output selector

  • I need a simpler way to hook up my N64 with just the power cable, RF Adapter, and a plasma HD TV.Help me please.

  • @tramsnutz74 Probably not going to work you need to run it through a DVD player.

  • What is the Adapter called that he uses to connect the N64 to the cable jack thing from the NES?

  • @AlyshaMcGuire Its called an N^$ RF Adapter. OR PN NUS-003 RF Modulator

  • Do you know hoe to plug in a 64 into a flat screen tv? It might sound easy but I'm having trouble hooking mine up :/

  • @boomcat16 Yes I would go in through the RCA white red Yellow to the N64.

  • song in the background? and thanks

  • @EmpireRSPS It is from Zelda Ocarina of time.

  • I have been trying to set it up for ages, I have got an Rf Modulator it doesnt have a switch but it is designed for the 64, ive plugged it in properly and i have put it in the back of my hd tv, since its a modern tv i need to search for it i have done everything properly yet it cant find it ive plugged it in correctly and done everything yet there is no screen for the n64, for information its a LG flatscreen pretty new, so please help me i really need it and miss playing all of the best games :)

  • @RoboticRebel Some New TV's will not accept the signal. Run it through a DVD player instead.

  • wtf are you talking about on step four you just say im takin this an puttin it right in their

  • @phukyu345 This is where you plug in the video Cable to the back of the N64.

  • you sound so much like fkn seth rogan haha

  • @ronaldinho26g Really?

  • lol at the way you said ocarina of time

  • @Majora99 I'm beast like that

  • I have a sony LCD and use an arial input and not AV but this only works on the old tv's! Should I be using an AV cable on my LCD?

  • The first way you showed won't work for me. When i turn the N64 on my tv screen stays black.. :( ( Yes its on input )

  • IT'S FUCKING OCARINA OF TIME "OC A RINA"

  • I have a Vizio tv. I've connected the ubder AV/S-VIDEO and connected the red, white, yellow, and black cables and it still doesn't work

  • I figured all this stuff out when I was 2yrs old.

  • @kenslog does the nintendo have a start up screen or do you have to put the game

  • uhm hi i have a new flat screen j

in my room and i hooked up all three colors like normal...am i suposed to use the red one?

  • ok im trying to get mine working on a flatscreen, so i've tried using the av cable (red, yellow, white) on 3 TVs now and every time i turn it to the AV channel it still doesn't work. i wired it through a dvd/vhs player and still no luck!! what am i doing wrong? or is my N64 just buggered in general? Help would be really appreciated!!!

  • Zelda ocarina of time is the best game ever made IMO. So many good memories when it first came out :)

  • Okay, I've got an HDTV and both with SCART and without (the 3 cables directly put into the television) I get no signal, I've tried to scan for channels on my "TV" directory screen on my television, to no succes.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this problem?

  • all im using is an old wire thingy that goes into the back of the n64 straight to the cable jack in the back of my tv there are no red white or yellow cables i was gonna use the cords from my old gamecube but my sister threw it away can i ever play it with the cable cord thingy or do i need the red white and yellow cables?

  • @jakez069 You only need the scart-part when your tv doesn't have the red, white and yellow ports, if your tv does than you do not necessarily need it.

  • you're bored

  • I just tried hooking it up using the RF adapter and all I can get is for the screen to start flashing. Do I need a new adapter? if so, can I just use one from the gamecube?

  • The music in the background at the begging is from super mario 64, the last bowser...< nerd

  • Dude!!!i love the website!!!!! not as expensive as playntrade

  • I have a samsung flatscreen...but my n64 won't work with it...help please? i tried a lot of things i purchased new cables but i don't know if it will work...

  • @RawrTabby Try a new cable first. But it may be that the TV set will not recognize the video input for the N64. If that is the case the easiest fix is to run it through your DVD/vhs Player.

  • what about for HD TV

  • @YourVideoSuckz Should work just the same but some hd tv's cannot recognize the input. If that is the case you will have to run it through a VCR or DVD

  • @zeldaman2008 Yes it will.

    Even for the Super Nintendo.

  • I just got fios and my n64 cable also hooked up the cable from comcast but now it doesn't work, I hav a ps2 cable and it fits in the n64 but it's not working is it the cable or the n64?

  • @lpf98 The PS2 cable will fit but it is all together the wrong cable. I have cables available on the website if you need one.

    Thanks!

    Ken

  • @TheRobreck If it goes from like blue to black then it is sending signal. You need a game to make sure the graphics engine is working.

  • Ok. I have the same adaptor and all that shizam. But I have a flat screen, Is it possible to do it with out those cables? I have a vhs dvd and stuff

  • @Ms191919191 Please be more specific. It is hard to understand what you mean. But what I think you are asking is if you can run it without a video cable of some sorts and the answer is no. Which cable do you have? The one with white yellow and red (RCA) or just a coax end?

  • @kenslog Well I dont have the red white and yellow cables specificly for the N64. But I do have the MadCatz RF adaptor for the 3 consoles. When I try to put the cable in to my VHS player it wont fit. Nothings wrong with the adaptor and I doubt anythings wrong with the antena input from the VHS player..

  • @Ms191919191 Sounds like the male end of the mad katz cable is bent up.

  • @kenslog i have a vizio flat screen tv. will my n64 work on that tv?

  • @iwantaps3plz yes i have a vizio and all u need is to hook it. ps: some games make it blurry

  • @kenslog will the gamecube color cables work 4 the n64

  • @mandizle1 Of course it will they use the same type of AV cables (even though they have different colors they'll still work) also it will work on the SNES.

  • Aghhh.... What do I do if I don't have a remote or the tv you have?

  • @BelmoreRose Meaning you cant switch it to line in or channel 3? I would get a universal remote.

  • Can i hook up My n64 through a vhs player if i have a new flat screen hdtv? My vhs player works on the tv so shouldnt the N64?

  • @cmanblck45 Yes It should work

  • @kenslog Thanks a lot i have an N64 coming in the mail and i just wanted to make sure i didn't need anything else to play it. Great videos and you have a great game collection

  • @kenslog I just got the nintendo 64 today and i cannot figure out how to get it working. I plugged the n64 into the wall and put the av cables in the vhs player. When i turn the tv and vhs player on all i get is static on all channels. I know it is not a bad console because i tested it on an older tv and it works great. What am i doing wrong?

  • @kenslog i hav teh same problem, my n64 showed up once on my flatscreen but after i turned it off i dont no how to get it to work again

  • @musicmiss18 That is weird how do you have it hooked up? Through your DVD/VCR? If so they may have to be powered on for you to see the image.

  • Hey, any advice for someone who is missing a yellow AV cable? I don't really know anything about em but theres a red, orange, white, blue and green!

  • @Sightless666 That is a composite cable. You'll have to buy one. They are available on my website.

  • N64's power cable is plugged into the mains. RF cable is plugged into the "antenna in" slot on the TV. N64 is turned on. Nothing happening on any channel. What have I done wrong this time?

  • @ShadowWolfofPack Sounds like it's right is this a newer flat panel TV? First thing to check is the Video Cable. Borrow from a friend or get a new one. From Gamecube or SNES multi out. Try to hook up to VCR.

  • So I have a TV without an RCA input and a VCR with it. I plug the cable from the VCR to the TV, plug the N64 into the front of the VCR and it doesn't work and the PS2 is plugged in the same exact way.

I then tried the N64 on a TV WITH RCA and it worked so I know the cable is fine. What am I doing wrong?

  • @DrowningSorrows1 That is an odd one. Does the PS2 plug into the exact same port? If so the N64 should work. I know you have to change it from like Video 1 or 2. on my VCR it is L2 or L1. Does the screen flicker at all when turned on?

  • @kenslog Never mind dude, I got it to work a few days ago.

I hooked the VCR to the TV and plugged the N64 into the front of the VCR and ti came on. Funny thing is, at the last house I lived when I had done the same exact thing but ti didn't work, mus have been something wrong with the room I was in or something... haha

  • This video game me some ideas that I'm going to try but I'm thinking that it's just an old dead system. Rest in peace, N64... Rest in peace...

  • i have anintendo on the tv but i cant get it on a channel i did it before but we moved house and then it stopped and i forgot how to do it

  • @kenslog

Hey this is a great video, but when I turn on my tv(and n64) to the right input, I just see a blank black screen. Is my n64 not working?

  • @Vivaclank Try cleaning the cartridge.

  • I don't remember having the red , white and yellow prongs. I remember a single cable that hooked up to the back. I guess I have to buy it?

  • @guitar241990 Either will work

  • how to i hook it to an HDTV? Help?

  • so if i have an RF module i HAVE to use an RF adapter? i cant just get a cable to go straight from the module to the tv???

  • do you know how to hook it up on at&t

  • I just got this NGC rf auto switch from this place called movie trading company on 8/21/10 and my game can show on channels 3,4,8,11, catv channel 14,and 16

  • dude wow get a life

  • ya its fried its from 95 so

  • @Sheldetin No Game

  • @kenslog I'm having the same problem, except i actually have a game in there. Any idea what it could be?

    Thanks

  • @bballsse25 Same problem as who?

  • @kenslog I also have the same problem as Sheldetin and i have a game in the system I've tried 4 different games and am getting nothing

  • @craigsa Two possible issues. Your video cable is bad or your N64 is bad/dirty. new TV?

  • ok i have everything hooked up it just it turns on but when i put it on av1or av2 its still a blue screen whats wrong plz respond

  • @gh3rocksmylife make sure the red white and yellow are in the right slots. I have messed this up before as well so it wont hurt to look. Make sure AV connection to N64 is secure. Power on the game and switch between all AV1 and so on.If that does not work I would try a new AV connection. If that doesnt work test another source in the AV1 or 2 slot if it works there is an issue with the N64. Be sure to clean the game connectors with a dry Q-tip . Otherwise deep clean or its fried

  • but do I NEED the AV cables?

  • @Iceeman234 No you can use an old RF Switch if you have the RF Switch adapter for the N64 Google it.

  • ok, I have a SDTV, and I hook everything up, but it has a blank screen, with nothing.... why is it doing this?

  • @Iceeman234 Some new TV's will not accept an RF or RCA connection. I've seen adapters for this before. Ebay it.

  • I will subscribe I found this video very useful.

  • where did you get your AB cable?

  • @StraightUpLazy101 Goodwill LOL

  • Can you use any AV cable for nintendo, or can you only use the one that comes with nintendo

  • hey ken I'm using an rf cable to connect to my tv, it's working but I'm not getting any sound. what should I do?

  • @GammaEX Its probably the RF switch

  • Do you need a vcr to get it to work with a Universal RF adapter?

  • Hey man, Im having some problems with my Madcatz Universal RF Adapter. I plug in the cord in the back of the TV, then, I hook up the adapter in back of the N64. Now I change the channel to ch 3, power up the N64, but I dont get any signal, am I doing something wrong? Please help me out! :)

  • you have already sorted it out by now, but just incase you havent, you need to search for the n64 by tuning your tv.

  • will the SNES rca cables work on the N64

  • hey ken

i have an n64 and a samsung hd tv, with only the original rf cable to connect them and i cant find the channel anywhere on the tv after ive plugged it in and turned on the console. Im pretty sure the console isnt broken either. any help would be great cheers

  • It would be channel 3 or 4. But Some new HD tv's will not read the RF Connection. You will have to get an RCA Cable(Yellow White Red) for it.

  • @willpowley Did you figure it out?

  • Hey Ken I have a Dynex 20 that I am tryin to hook up my 64 to. For some reason its not working. I need help.

  • Ok thecable to the tv is it the red white and yellow or just a coax connection?

  • My TV is like that too (input 1 and 2) and I use 3 ways to do it: I have 2 RF Modulators (Philips and Radioshack), the cord that connects to the RF Modulator can be used singularly to only one of my TVs and the RFU Adaptor.

Thank you for showing 6 ways on how to hook up an N64. :D

  • Thanks Man I'm glad you liked it.
