if i can still play piano at this age.....i will accept every mistake! remember that he is not playing at home but he is giving recital, both the energy and concentration are more demanding in order to keep the tone colour, memory etc.......Merzhanov is great!

I remind to everyone that Viktor Merzhanov was first price ex equo with Sviatoslav Richter at the Tchaikowsky competition in Moscow at the very beginning of their carriers.So they are the best russian pianists ever!

Richter and Merzhanov shared first prize on All-USSR Piano Competition in 1945, not Tchaikovsky Competition, the first of which was not until 1958. Otherwise, agree completely.

Merzhanov is great !!! I like his sense of style and the ability to actually "make" music. His studio and live performances are true treasures. Thank you for posting.
