@BWEE1000 The info I have is: Eddie recorded "Cruisin' The Drive-In" early to mid 1958. Ed on vocal and gtr, bs voice Warren Flock. Rest is so far unidentified. Either you find this song on "Cruisin' The Drive-In with Eddie Cochran & Friends Vol. 1" - Rockstar RSRCD 009 (UK) or "The Ultimate Collection Eddie Cochran/Somethin' Else" - Bear Family BCD 15989 HK (Germany)
@BWEE1000 That means it is on no LP but on CD. One might never say never though I have it not on any of my Eddie albums: 13 LP's, 3 double LP's, 8 EP's (Rockstar) and 8 CD's. A riddle is why Eddie's version of "The Third Man Theme" is called "Fourth Man Theme?" (late 1959) Anyone that have a clue? "The Third Man Theme" is from the film-noir "The Third Man" (1949) played by Anton Karas on zither. Best site for sessions is "Remember Eddie Cochran", for photos "Eddie Cochran Photo Gallery"
@bellgardens53 Thanks i've looked at both sites and thier good. You did know that Eddie only made one album and the rest of his songs are from 45s he made, he was planing on doing a second album but he saddly parted.
To know more about the shakespeare of Rock N Roll - Eddie Cochran you should read this book called Three Steps to Heaven The Eddie Cochran story.
@BWEE1000 I think I know about that only LP from memory. Of course I have read that book by his nephew Bobby and Susan Van Hecke. A great read. Have you read "Things Do Go Wrong - Eddie, Gene And The UK Tour?" by Spencer Leight. Get it if you are into Eddie boy. Have you visited any of the important Eddie places? Like where he was born, the accident site in UK and where he is buried in CA? I did that tour a couple of years ago. I got an promise from a lady 2 years ago...
@bellgardens53 (cont) ...who had lived next house to the Cochran family in Bell Gardens, but in the 1970's and alas, the Cochran's were not living there anymore. Anyway, she had a grown up son that still lived in Bell Gardens and as I was going to California in 2009 and she made a promise he could take me for a ride in the neighborhood. Checking places around etc...though the house of the Cochran family is a parking lot now. That the dame suddenly dissapeared, and re-appeared after I had...
@bellgardens53 (cont) ...come back to Sweden!! And she pretended it was raining. Odd people. She could at least have told me by email some problem made it impossible for her son taking me on this ride before I went. Not a word. Strange. I would like too see Bell Gardens though it is not what it used to be. Back in the 50's I think it was a genuine blue collar or lower middle class area. Maybe mosty pale skins lived there. ;O) Now it have detoriated. Anyway, that is what I heard. Rock on!
Such an uptempo doo-wop number about getting dumped (with anime tears even). It doesn't sound like an Eddie Cochran song except for his voice and guitar, I bet this is a hint of what he would've been doing in the early '60s had he lived.
Sometimes you get sontaneous glad that things in this world exist, for example this song. Before YT I never heard it. Now I have listened to it several times. Suddenly an urge pop out in my head and I must hear it again. You can say it's a sad song as the girl left him for someone new, but the impression, feeling and catchy rythm just make you feel good that you are alive...I find it much more amusing than "Drive-In Show". Eddie was a genius.
Another thing is that Eddie had his cown particular sound. In some video text comments, esp if it's about Chuck Berry almost somebody (that thinks he's unique having that "information") must mention the old "truth" that the whites "stole" the Rock from from the blacks (Elvis being the prime target as he 'never wrote any songs and being the most known exponent of '50s Rockn'Roll) I alwats then out the question, how was it about Eddie (or Holly for that matter). Always a tell tale silence
Starlight 6 in Atlanta... the Drive-Invasion happens every September... classic cars, classic movies, hip shit. It's the best drive-in party fest ever. They let you park your car and sleep overnight to avoid DUI's so the paty never stops. CIO!
WOW! Sounds like something really special in drive-in stuff. Maybe I should have chosen that place/state instead of CA, San Diego as vacation place. But there must bee something here too?
Cruisin' was recorded a few months after Summertime Blues, I guess Summertime was still getting a lot of airplay, and Cruisin' never got the attention it deserves because the style was different...that's how you get another great Eddie song forgotten.
quelqu'un aurait-il les paroles SVP ?
