Sublime!!! ..... It's such a shame the camera Director throws which was supposed to be an epic memory of this amazing interpretation down the toilet ... Damn and Blast!!!
Drum player's performance is out of this world, only he doesn't appear one single time on a dedicated full shot ... those imbeciles wasted so many shots showing that faggot "directing" the orchestra .....
Great Performance! Brilliant! Still....I always miss the Original Versions Bass Guitar and Drum Trades....I do like the 6/8 feel , but do the Bass Trades Gino...Please:-) You always have great Bass Players...why not?
can't believe they didn't show the drummer, plenty of shots of the percussionist but the drummer was the one holding the whole thing together and he was amazing.....gives me the shits when the drummer is left out, awesome lead guitarist..wow
@CrashTestXtrem .... so true... i've listened to everything from classical to jazz to hard rock... i studied orchestration and classical music... yet i still say gino vannelli's album brother to brother is the best album ever..!
it's amazing, it's all amazing... yet still doesn't quite reach the dizzy heights of the album version... in fact, hardly any music reaches those heights
I love this song! THIS IS LIVE!! OH MY GOD! Full orchestra! This is magnificent. Thank you so much for posting this. IS there a DVD or CD that can be purchased of this concert???? GOD BLESS YOU!!!
Crazy beautiful! The Metropoe Ordhestra is indescribablly jaw drawping gorgeous!! To hear my Canadian Gino I feel so proud to have known him in the very beginnings of his career. Bravo Gino for enduring and still being one of my absolute favourites musically and lyrically
Bloody Awsome, where did you find this?....Best thing ive seen / heard in ages, this is the same orchestra that worked with Steve Vai if im not mistaken...Gino Is still on form, but this version sounds about as good as it gets...Thanks very much for the upload...
Metropole orchestra...Dutch finest! never mind the tulips, windmils, legal softdrugs policy and legal prostitution.. when come to Holland..just come for the Metropole Orchestraaaaaa
Excellent performance! I'm a huge Carlos Rios fan (recorded the original guitar solo on this tune). Does anyone know who the guitarist was in this performance - what an amazing job he did! Thanks for sharing this clip.
@insaneguitarfreak Yeah, he has a website ... it's under construction but still has quite a bit of info up: ... he's a session guitarist from Holland, so you have to dig a little for his stuff, but well worth it. I met him at a guitar "Master Class" in London, and started following him after I learned he had played with Gino, (who is my mentor). Awesome style and sound.
@tsahaylu7 - Thanks for letting me know this guy's name - ever since I first heard his solo on a live CD version of this song, I've been totally taken with his playing, and wanting to hear more - I love that rock/jazz fusion stuff - absolutely superb. An inspiration for sure.
known. He is originally a drummer, but also plays guitar, piano, precussion, bass, and sings (obviously), is a master at production and sound recording, is one of the greatest lyricists in the last 100 years, an amazing arranger, songwriter of the highest order, and has never compromised his art for the sake of fame or monetary gain. Those in the industry who really know what they're talking about, know the genius of Gino Vannelli. He is also a follower of my favorite, Walt Whitman that seals it
... and Herb Alpert gave them a listen and recorded "Crazy Life" ... a short time later they were on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert, (a late Sat nite TV show in the 70's) playing "Powerful People" and I was hooked ... there has never been anyone like him, and there never will be. To have a completely unique sound in this day and age, woven from every style and influence known, is nothing short of genius, and that's Gino. He is the Mozart of our generation, and it's a shame that he isn't more well
My favorite version of Brother To Brother (I have this DVD ... took a while to find it, but well worth it) ... Peter's solo is just amazing ... gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. Too bad the intro is missing from this cut, but the sound is good. If you can find this DVD, BUY IT! You will NOT be disappointed. Gino is by far the largest musical influence in my life and has been since I was just starting to play guitar, when he and Joe were trying to make it on the West Coast ...

Gino's writing, arranging, and obvious orchestration is just brilliant!
Did anyone catch the conga percussionist look at the other musicians - and give the nod -"don't know where this is going?"
Then the piece rocks on - this is another Gino killer production.
He's such a brilliant cat - always under control.
So professional - I'm sure the musicians left the days work remembering that session!
