  • INSOMNIUM!!!

  • Kalmah have such good melodies from what I heard, sad they too hard for me...

  • He listed songs with his favorite instrumentals in Melodeath. How hard is that to understand?

  • Is there anything on this list that is actually an instrumental and not just a riff?

  • @kingLorshi nope sorry, i woulda taken this video down years ago, but it got a very positive response so I guess I will keep it up, unless you guys feel I should take it down.

  • @YourRoadToHell No need to take it down. I just thought that because of the title, there'd be instrumentals.

  • JESTER´DANCE - IN FLAMES IS THE BEST ( for me)

  • Some good music here. One question - why is it called death metal? Is it because it sounds like the vocalist is being throttled to death? Music should be about life and affirming and encouraging and I love great creative musical talent.

  • @jmsbk12345 who says music should be about life and affirming and encouraging (not to mention some death metal tracks do that-- check out Insomnium's "In the groves of death" or Arch Enemy- "I will live again"). Music should be about whatever you feel like playing or listening to. I like very dark and depressive shit when I am in the mood for it.

  • @jmsbk12345 Death Metal got its name from one of the first bands to do this genre which was called "Death". As death became more popular, people began saying that they were going to play their metal like "Death's" or Death's Metal. So they stuck with the name Death Metal as the name of the Genre. And about Music being about life. If you want to listen to a song about life, go listen to one. Not all songs have to be alike. That would make for a dull iPod playlist.

  • What the hell? These aren't even instrumental! You only took instrumental parts from the songs!

  • if you like melodic death metal instrumentals, I strongly recommend you 2 Omnium Gatherum tracks - Watcher of the Skies and Song for December

  • Amazing instrumentals =) thank you so much for posting

  • The video is good for something (for instance Journey Unknown of Insomnium that is an underrated song) and not good for something else (where are the beginning of Hades and instrumental part of "They Will return" of Kalmah? And Where are Dark Tranquillity (lethe?), Amon Amrth, Norther, Wintersun and first In flames?)

  • @Gamereo i made this video when i was just getting into metal haha

  • @Gamereo What about Chelsea Grin, or Heaven Shall Burn

  • @iwasnothere97 What songs you like of them? Because I listen many songs but for me they are anything particular

  • @Gamereo I love both bands, but Heaven Shall Burn's Atonement is stunning, and Chelsea Grin's Elysium is beautiful.

  • @iwasnothere97 Elysium is very nice the other I listened yesterday it doesn't seems so particular. Anyway I like more Instrumental By Dark Age

  • @iwasnothere97

deathcore sucks. Listen to real metal.

  • @MasakoXer Deathcore is a kind of metal.

  • Hey, metalbrothers, sent me some really clear instrumental melodeath without vocals, something with energy, guitars and drums hell! :) Thanks

  • @oORoOFLOo try a perpetual state of indifference by exodus.

  • @darkerfate8 i wanna something like this (in video) aumojekoule.eu/videa/nejnovejsi/detail/5876/

  • For all that didn't read the description:

This video is of various instrumental PARTS.

Anyway the compilation is awesome \m/

  • Death - Voice of the Soul is amazing

  • Norther - Frozen Sky is my favourite instrumental

  • Change of Heart isn't instrumental.. it has some vocals.

  • @Kylar5715 also Journey Unknown but he considered just the instrumental part ; see the description!)

  • Thanks for spending your time to make this video and upload it. KALMAH \m/

  • @iDECIMIS thanks \m/

  • i thought instrumental means no vocals, the insom songs have vocals

  • "I am annoyed by the stereotypical nonsense of death metal being, "satanic emo music" Guy who made this: YourRoadToHell.........wait somethings not right here.

  • Love this video man, just getting into guitar its alot easier to listin to it without the bitch ass screaming.

  • @bored336 Pussy. Metal is about being 100% committed. There is not only one way to sing 100% committed, but many including growling/screaming. The dynamics of the music may or may not call for a harsher intonation of lyrics depending on the mood of the song. The aggressive, harsh vibe of metal often calls for the acquired taste of metal vocals. There is also a range very, very different types of screaming from meshuggah to nile to insomnium to slayer to opeth. Be more open minded.

  • good list

  • defeat isn't an instrumental

  • I disliked this video because there is no Within the Ruins

Jump Ship is such a badass instrumental

  • @inuyasha333 thats a pretty stupid reason to dislike a video, i labelled it MY favorite, doesnt mean they are the best or that all others suck, I havent even heard your track

  • @inuyasha333 lol... ure stupid

  • CLIMHAZZARD!!!! I So Did Not Expect To See Them On Here!! Theyre Seriously Amazing!!

  • Opeth sounds a lot like this stuff. Opeth is amazing.

  • I'm surprised to find mordium on here. They are retardedly underground.

  • There should be more artists out there willing to do instrumentals, especially since majority of todays artists have such god awful vocalists.

  • Groan of wind is truly my favorite Kalmah song :D

  • Kalmah is the fucking best.

  • @YourRoadToHell

aww.. :( I hope everything turns out ok for you ...what ever your problems may be

    HAZZAH!!! XD thanks buddy!! :)

  • @IndestructibleVirus I got discord symphony up lol

  • @YourRoadToHell

    FUCK YEAH! thanks!

  • kalmah great fucking solo!!!!

  • Discord symphony sounds AWESOME!!!! ...but i cant find the song or band anywhere....it sucks... :/ i would love to buy it on itunes!

  • @IndestructibleVirus Haha the band doesnt exist anymore, I still have the mp3 album somewhere on my computer, if you are really interested (not like buying the album would support the band anyway).

  • @YourRoadToHell could you fileshare it to me?

  • @IndestructibleVirus try mrtzcmp3 dot net

  • kalmah is the shit.

  • lol nice climhazzard, garret j peters is a great guitarist

  • good

  • great melody : system of a down - holy mountains

  • i didnt think defeat was an instrumental by Kalmah, it has lyrics.

  • @ironmaidenshredd many of these are not completely instrumental, i just included the instrumental parts, plus this video is old as fuck, I was kinda new to death metal.

  • Insomnium is an overrated mainstream band.

  • @ImplyingImplicati0nz lmfao I wish. Insomnium got so much talent but I know only one person in life who has even heard of them, and I got plenty of "metal" friends.

  • @YourRoadToHell

"Mainstream" was more of an exaggeration, but Above the Weeping World did reach the pop charts. I think they're just overrated and popular in melodic death metal, but otherwise not really. You made this video about melodic death metal so I thought I'd give my opinion on that.

But I'm also frustrated that not even in a video about lesser known/underrated melodic death metal bands, there's no mention of Skyfire. They're my personal favourite.

  • @ImplyingImplicati0nz Skyfire really is a good band. Awake is my favorite song from them. it is also one of the most unique out of all my selections.

Mors Principium Est is another one of my favorite melodic death meta bands. but they are "mainstream" in a sense.

Shade Empire isnt melodic DEATH metal, but it is a very talented (and mostly unheard of) melodic black metal band.

but this selection is pretty good too. good taste.

  • @ImplyingImplicati0nz Hardly...you must be one of those kvlt black metal guys who only listen to metal that two people have heard of.

  • @gsp1175

What are you, an asshole? Or can you just not read?

  • @ImplyingImplicati0nz if you find Insomnium mainstream, gsp may be right lol

  • You and I have alot in common, those are actually my favorite parts of the songs [the instrumentals]. I have all of Kalmah's and Insomnium's c.d.s.

  • no quo vadis :0 if you havnt heard theres you should look up hunter/killer endgame (2:15) and dream

  • oh and that time is not supposed to be for this video it's how long the instrumental by quo vadis is, dream is like 5 minutes i think

  • Dude excellent find on 'Climhazzard', definitely checking them out!

    Thaaaanks.

  • This is really outdated. These really arent my favorites in melodic death metal. Insomnium is still the best but theres plenty of their stuff i didnt include. taking this down (to private) soon like my older videos

  • Awesome video!

  • I like man mad god by in flames which you have probably herd and lost beyond retrieval by mors principium est.

    Kalmah FTW!

  • yea i know man made god by in flames, its a really good piece, although im too fond of in flames in general. i dont know the others

  • I was about to mention this one, its the missing one anyway thanks for sharing I'm looking for those because I hate the vocals

  • @hanxopx lol the vocals own too, but I know most people dont get them

  • The Jester's Dance is sweet too.. Tho the same riff, but it's soothing.. And Man Made God is just EPIC

  • nice stuff, though u cud have included a few intros of insomniums tracks.. many of them are really awesome. T-up!
