When the Bush administration wiretapped the country, they did it to target supposedly potential terrorist suspects that they had no fucking clue who they looked like at the expense of violating privacy rights of all American citizens. When law enforcement agencies do it, they are usually more precise as they already know who they're gonna target before hand.

A computer which picked up certain words and codes to alert of any plots. It didn't target regular citizens. Lemme tell you the big difference here. When the Bush administration wiretapped the country, they did it to target supposedly potential terrorist suspects that they had no fucking clue who they looked like at the expense of violating privacy rights of all American citizens. When law enforcement agencies do it, they are usually more precise as they already know who they're gonna target before hand.

The FBI and CIA should have been working together but, no, Clinton cut funding, and the CIA couldn't make arrests without the FBI being there to do it, though the taps picked up the cells in the rooms. I read the reports 2 years ago. That's why the Justice Dept. called for a hearing to have the 2 agencies work interchangeably with each other and give the CIA domestic arrest powers. American citizens weren't targeted.

Wiretapping was targeted to certain people, but the gov couldn't come out and say they knew who. That would've blown everything. These are used to gather evidence, Not as a last resort. The taps are recorded.
