  • These are great videos! My grandfather was Jack DuMont and I've never seen these before. Its really exciting to see and show my children. If there are anymore videos out there that show him playing, I would love to know about them.

  • Those guys in the rhythm section can't believe they are playing with Bonnee, because they listened to him with Teegarden on the radio probably. One of the best swing musicians ever. Ditto for DuMont and Klein.

  • I love this - so smooth and cool. I'm a big Jack Dumont fan. He played with my dad in the Hollywood Saxophone Quartet. I love listening to his solos in that group, and here too. These guys are great. Don Bonnee also played with HSQ on their 6-sax tunes.

  • Recently found an LP from ca. 1960 of The Don Bonnee Octette which features this tune and other good ones with the same great frontline of Don, Russ and Jack.

  • Further evidence that Welk's weekly show delivered jazz regularly for over 30 years. Not just sprinkled within a fox trot but good, sound Pacific Coast jazz as seen here.

Love the way other orchestra members enjoyed this great trio during the taping. Aladin especially.

  • You can even get a glimpse of the usually somber Dick Kessner getting a kick out of the proceedings...truly outstanding music.

  • Holy cow! What a cool and hip sound from those three. Don really shines on this one...what a treat!
