Forget 7 cell, just get 6-cells...and I find that soldering the TRX connector is nearly impossible without damaging it in some way...big pain in the ass.
Get anything that has OK-good cells...preferably 4000mAh (I get great run times, I spent forty minutes making this video).
right now my friend runs two Venom 6 cell 3600's i think and he doesn't get more than maybe 10 minutes full speed, 15 until dead. I gotta get him to get some new ones. He was thinking 5000 mah that would be a huge improvement. im gonna tell him to get them
No worries on the multiple comments, I deleted them.
Many people will agree with me that Venom cells aren't very good. They aren't good at all, honestly...but I haven't used one of their packs in over a year or two.
5000mAh would be very nice...but he's probably running them down just because he's running it on his driveway (flat asphalt/concrete) or because its too cold out right now.
I'm sure his truck will heat up this summer, though.
hey just wondering if u had to cover the electrical connection between the batteries and the speed control? also do the connections between the motor and spped control get effected at all?
Everything you see is a stock truck just hooked up to batteries. ;)
Only thing: I rusted up a lot of my parts from rainwater; Traxxas told me that separate actions must be taken to waterproof the metal.
The only issue besides rust is that I still have some water in my batteries (STILL)...but that hasn't caused any problems. I would suggest poking holes in the heatshrink.
I just took the batteries out and sprayed it with my hose...
ALTHOUGH...make sure you make the metal pieces on your truck are maintained to be waterproof. Spray some WD-40 on them...because I didn't do anything about it; I had to spend five hours (literally) cleaning it.
Nice videos...

Trinity 6-cell 4200mAh packs.
I don't recommend Venom packs because they don't last long and are far too expensive.

I would love one of those things. What was the price when you bought it?
Classicloverx 3 years ago
Hey Classic.
I got mine for $409 (for Christmas) from my HobbyTownUSA, but you can get them off Tower for $369 (I figure with shipping, its the same price).
$140 for batteries...so prepare yourself to spend a lot on some good cells or forget good performance. ;)

Use an air compressor with jet nozzal to help clean faster. Eye protection is recomended.
FMJSteelcore 4 years ago
That's what Traxxas told me.
I actually accumulated a lot of rust on the truck and spent five hours cleaning it.
XmodditE3 4 years ago
Great vid !
At the end of the video you clean all the electronics directly with the garden-hose !!!
Is that the standard way of cleaning the E-maxx ??
I now it's build more waterproff than the old E-maxx, but will it not mess up the electronics ??
Bronlund2000 4 years ago
It is completely fine. ;)
I just took the batteries out and sprayed it with my hose...
