They normally hang out in the deep parts of the river most of the time, but sometime they'll come into the shallows once in awhile to feed on crayfish and whatever they can find because that's where most of their food supply is. @ 3:09 looks like a Great White Shark.

they are not almost extinct i fish for them on the columbia or willamette every week some days we catch 50 in a day, and there is no season for oversize sturgeon like that one you can fish for them all year round but its catch and release

It's a white sturgeon. It's not a lake. It's the Columbia River. It runs between Washington and Oregon. The video does not give the perspective but that sturgeon is around 6" and about 150lbs. That's not even a big one either. They can get over 15' and weigh more than 100lbs. They are a protected species and fishing for them is highly regulated. Not to mention those people were fishing for shad which weigh no more that a few lbs. That sturgeon would have snapped their line in a second.

Awesome footage. A friend once had an expierence like that while shad fishing at bonneville. The took a shad, put on a huge hook, and tossed it to the sturgeon. Ever try to land a six foot sturgeon on 12lb test and a light baitcasting outfit? Well don't... They don't look it, but once hooked, those things can seriously haul butt outta there!
