I still remember and love the legendary Marty Robbins. He was such a great entertainer! It's wonderful that we still have his wonderful sound in music! Thanks for sharing the uploads.
I agree. Like Nat Stuckey, I knew Marty. The day he passed (Dec 8 1982) I found out when I got to work. I had to take the day off. It was a very sad day for country music.
One time back stage at the Opry I did hear Marty attempt a Parody song with Sheb (Ben Colder) Wooley. Couldn't get through one bar without totally cracking up. And it was one of his songs; El Paso. I don't think Sheb ever recorded that song, I think it was just thrown together for that night. Sheb's Montana cattle drive for that year started a few days later and Marty was invited but I don't know if he went or not, I left for the U. K. the next morning.

What a great voice, a great rendition of a great song. This
man is one of the greatest talents of this century... I really
can't think of one any more talented... What a range of talent
also... Marty can sing anything, and make it,,, "his"...

Thanks for that information CptSato. Another song of the same kind that Marty should have recorded was 'Red Sails In The Sunset.'

Is there any music that Marty does not do justice to? If there is, I haven't heard it.

I know Sheb did 'Don't Worry' and 'Devil Woman' on his first album 'Spoofing The Big Ones', but I don't think he ever did another Robbins song.

Well said sir. I hate it when people pigeon hole him as just a country singer; he was so much more.

The classic baritone voice of Martin David Robinson, one of the greatest crooners of all time.
