What a load of bollocks!! Thank god they elbowed this narration!! The original opening is far more effective - we learn enough about Maureen in the film, without some boring cunt droning on and ruining the atmosphere.
@ricshmitz83 It's called "Maureen In The Desert" and was composed especially for the movie. It can be found on the soundtrack LP and cassette, but a CD was never officially released.
on the American DVD I have, the voice is not there, instead the credits roll during this scene and the opening credits with the convent paintings no longer are on it.
@ hankheavy - Check out Cold Water Music by Aim - Great album and the title track samples this tune. This voiceover is crap and completely unecessary!!!!
I recall the TV version of the scene where Maureen is at the hotel and stares at the bible, has the entire nun/bell death scene shown AGAIN in its entirety... but now as a flashback! Also the scene with Duke and the lamps was edited very weird, too (repeating the same shot of Fahey over and over). Is it possible you could upload these? Thanks!
yea really... WTF... I just added that song to my MP3 player! I even extended it! I finally get to hear it on here and this asshole wont shut the fuck up
Thank God this bullshit isn't on the dvd/cinema release. It sucks and you can't hear the brilliant score.

This sounds like the opening of an Ed Wood movie - it's much better without it.

I like this better with the monologue...You rarely get that anymore. It shows that Perkins wanted to make this different and more dynamic...

Someone on Youtube made a remix of this song. But he or she erased the clip. Why?! It was one of the best remixes I've ever heard! Bring it back!

Airings on Telefutura (the sister network of the Hispanic channel, Univision) kept the theatrical intro intact.
