I was just wondering, why don't they drill some venting holes in the side of these prosthetics, so your hand won't get too warm in there, or make them with venting openings that you could slide in and out for air, just like on a full face motorcycle helmet. Just a thought.
I'm intrigued by the tattoo designed prosthesis, esp. the hinges. They look very angular, "industrial strength," and hence masculine. Do they irritate your upper arm without a sock on? The harness looks different, too. Do you wear this arm very often?
That arm was designed for heavy duty use. The hinges keep the socket from rotating. The harness is a simple figure 9 type that is less restrictive than the normal fig 8 that I wear.
In public spaces (or private, too, I suppose) do people ever ask you to take off your prosthesis and show them your stump or ask to touch it? If so, what do you do in such cases? Just curious... (Thanks for he video!)
People often ask how the hook works and how it stays on. I usually give them a short explanation and demonstration. Nobody has ever asked the question you posed.
You seem like you are doing great with prosthetics but how do you feel about a transplant or one of those iLimb hands from Touch Bionics?

Some people do add ventilation holes to alleviate heat or perspiration build-up. I have no issues with either so a closed socket works fine for me.

that's very cool. Sometimes I think that if I didn't have aviation, I would go into prosthetics.
