@MrGCFilms You'll have to follow the screen, for the most part (the flashcards on the side help tremendously, and you can practice in "Break it Down" mode). When you reach "Freestyle," you'll be able to just add your own moves and have it played back after the freestyle mode is up.

However, in DC2, you can opt to skip out the Freestyle mode entirely by adjusting your options, and instead that particular mode is replaced with additional moves, allowing you to gain additional points.

If they made the person on-screen follow you (not you specifically, not trying to sound mean), it would just look weird and buggy.

I have this at home because I am a tester and I'm a bit dissapointed because like dfybios said below, the character isn't mapped to the onscreen character. The on screen character is like a guide and nothing more. You are just the small crappy white silhouette so there is a big dis"kinect" in the gameplay. Bummer, this could have been good.

If the players movements aren't mapped to the characters on screen, then why does it show her body's movements in the end at 1:33? It's shows HER exact movements on the screen. I'm sure if they can figure out how to map your own body movements on the screen, they can configure them with the dancing characters.

Do people not realize the dancing characters on screen aren't actually mapped to the player's movements? The players movements are only represented in that white silhouette to the right of the dance moves (you'll also notice they omit that in the official trailer...)
