Tammy was a wonderful person! She really cared about people.

In the 1980's I sang on PTL with a group of people. After I went to a taping of her cooking show. After the show I talked with her for about 20 minutes. She was so interested in me and what I had to say.

In 2005 I was at a red light on Peachtree Rd in Atlanta and she was crossing the street. I blew the horn at her. She looked at me and motioned me to the parking lot. She hugged me and called me by name and kissed me.

The REAL tragedy was Roe Messners' FIRST wife, who lost her husaband AND everything they owned due to the PTL scandal. Messners' company didn't get re-imbursed for work and materials after PTL went bust.

I saw one of her interviews shortly after the cancer came back and learned it was terminal...she said that when she died she wanted her friends/family to throw a party. I wonder if they honored her request.

I had the opportunity to meet Tammy is person and found her charming. Check out what their ministry really was. You may be surprised. I loved Tammy's Tea Parties. She was also one of the very first to speak out about compassion to gay people. No wonder she was hated.

I found this very sweet and moving, as was Tammy Faye. I'm not a Christian, but Tammy Faye seemed to embody what Christianity should be. Was she flawed? Yes, but she would be the first to admit it. She was also loving, kind and accepting of others to whom many Christians have turned their backs. Her faith was inspiring. I feel confident she has found the peace and joy she was anticipating. She will be missed.
