(Cont'.) With arms the version I've seen has top arm reaching over the shoulder gripping the pole behind your head and the other holding same leg along the thigh just above the knee to give you a big arch, but there are probably slight variations in hand positions. Keep up the great work!!
With the figurehead you want to have your legs straight and squeezing the pole between your thighs with the pole kind of in your buttcrack. Also helps to have your ankles crossed and locked for extra grip - I think the leg positioning/grip is essentially the same as leg grip for the superman, you're just at a different angle. You'd have to squeeze really hard, and it will most likely HURT like a bast*rd! ...
