The Greens are a blight on this country. That they would support the BDS is a disgrace . Barghouti, is very open about the fact that the real aim of the BDS campaign is not a two-State solution, but the end of Israel itself or, in Barghouti’s words “A Palestine Next to a Palestine, Rather than a Palestine next to an Israel”. Thus “even if Israel’s occupation of the West Bank were to end, the BDS campaign against Israel itself would continue”.
Unfortunately for you lot, the Greens don't want to make you feel ashamed for driving/turning your lights on. They want to make some corporations, who deny the immense impact the pollution that's caused by the burning of fossil fuels has on the environment and will have on the future of our very species, who neglect on the whole or in any meaningful way to invest in clean, renewable energy, feel completely and utterly ashamed, as they bloody well should.
@MRMILO57 that's nice (though I'm not sure why they've given me freedom. They've given me a useful product which I've purchased and that's all - what are you on about?). But now, it's time to move away from those energies, which have always been detrimental to the environment (remember CFCs? They were an amazing, man-made material, but we had to move away from their use if we didn't want to fry in the rays of the sun), and, you know, develop as a species and global society.
The oil companies have giving you freedom to drive a car, catch a ride on public transport, or fly to the other side of the planet without anyone stopping you!..you understand that don't you?
Carbon is good for the planet, I walk outside my property, take a look at the trees and gardens near by, growing better than ever before.
So I think its best if you take a good look at what you read and re-evaluate what you believe.
@MRMILO57 mate that's the dumbest deduction I've ever heard; next you'll be telling me that phytoplankton give me the freedom to turn a light switch on because their organic anaerobic decomposition into kerogen and chemical decomposition into hydrocarbons gives me the necessary materials to burn and drive turbines/motors to create kinetic/electrical energy.
And on carbon...are you high? I guess my fridge was working pretty well 50 years ago when it was full of CFCs, and I wasn't getting sunburned then, so there was no problem! Never mind the immense holes that existed over the ozone layer, there's always a seasonal flux in the concentration of ozone in the atmosphere!
@MRMILO57 And now, never mind the fact that acid rain in the form of carbonic acid results in ocean acidification, destroying ecosystems and killing off marine species necessary to our global economy and our survival! Never mind the fact that the Earth has warmed half a degree Celsius in the past 30 years, faster than ever before and as a direct result of carbon emissions during the industrial age!
@MRMILO57 Never mind that we're going to bear the brunt of today's pumping of carbon into the atmosphere in about 100 years time, and anything we do now to prevent more emissions will only soften that impact so we aren't completely destroyed.

@ken6346 ....remember, the oil and computer companies are giving you the life style you have now.
Only for them, you wouldn't be having this conversation, speaking your mind, you wouldn't have 'FREEDOM'!
