Chinese plain clothes police would blcok them from interviewing Tibetans and a Chinese official changed an answer given by a monk. At night the BBC reporter was followed by 4 plain clothes Chinese authorities, he interviewed ordinary Tibetans who said they were afraid to talk and it was not a good idea as other people were instantly locked up for talking to the press.
