The Libertines were great because Carl and Pete worked together to write music. Without each other, Carl's music is solid and Pete's is poetic, but they don't have the other to balance it out. As a result Dirty Pretty Things sounds like a Strokes ripoff and Babyshambles sounds like nothing in particular beyond slurred words. Both are okay, but neither get close to the brilliance of the Libertines.

Rock bands have a certain persona they need to keep up with which what makes them so unique and interesting because why would you want to listen to passiveness?

This is truly what a real rock band and their video should consist of, motorcycle jackets, an underground sketchy vicinity, expensive liquor & champagne being poured on scantily clad women and well-dressed adventurous people ready for the occassion.
