No the EX is the one that gives you rrod not the TS. The reason being that the TS has it's own power supply rather than being powered by the Xbox's power supply which fried the input of the power cord and the main board. Also I'm not completely sure but I was told the EX blows air in, well the TS blows the Xbox's hot air out keeping the internal temperature at a minimum. btw the temperature sensor also keeps the Intercooler from running constantly, unlike the EX.

@xboxlive303 The intercoolers that steal power from the 360 are the ones that do damage than good. Taking away power from the hardware that needs it and letting it run than less power than it should WILL destroy it.

Having an intercooler like the TS is fine, it runs on its own power, its strong, its quieter and it expells more hot air. Unlike the EX and the one before that, this intercooler pushes hot air out while the others sucked cool air in, which was dumb since the xbox fans pushed air.

The EX doesn't take power out of your 360 or cause red rings... I have it and have the original first launch 360s no crashes or other BS. Keeps it cool and running and would definitely recommend

yeah dude if you havent gotten an answer its because the new intercooler got like a temp sensing thing and if your xbox is cold and not hot it will turn off when it gets hot then it will turn on again :) thats just how it works

I know this is a mouth old but your intercooler is tempeture sensing, that means it only turns on when its hot in ur xbox 36, its not broken its working perfectly, that also means that your xbox is in good condition

Yes i definatley recommend this colling unit to anyone with an xbox 360. It keeps yor console so much cooler than without. The greatest feature of this unit is how it will actually stay on untill your 360 is completely cooled off. Picked mine up for around 20 bucks at best buy the other day, TOTALLY worth. I agree with RaiderBoneDude, this thing gets a 10 out of 10.

the red rings are caused by a type of saudering around the CPU that has a lower melting temp than standard sodering. Oence this saudering melts it causes the CPU to come loose and vibrate. From this point the CPU destroys it's self from the inside out, causeing the RROD. Soulution KEEP YOUR XBOX COOL!!

I agree, i bought one of these and there is a huge temp difference when I put my hand on the bottom of the xbox. Without it, the console feels hot but with it, it feels just warm. I recommend that everyone keep their xbox well ventilated though, lest they suffer the RROD.

@GOPAKERSJT: No the TS won't RROD your 360 faster but the EX will. The only thing that sucks about any intercooler is that your 360 will get dustier on the inside alot faster. So you should get a can of air and blast your 360's insides once every two months.

that truth lies with the inter cooler original and intercooler EX, they draw power form your box which eventually leads to contact damage and over heating, the TS model actually keeps the box on average 8 degrees cooler than its predecessors , hope that helps

the ex is still good just dont wire it to the 360 thats what i did. I cut the red and black wires inside the inner cooler ex and connected it to my 12v wall plug and it works perfectly simple.

How can the the other intercooler damage the xbox. Even if it takes energy from the xbox, the xbox will always be connected to the power outlet, and the power outlet will always give the necessary amount of energy for the xbox to keep working.

on the contrary. other intercoolers use up too much energy which can generate extra heat that can damage the 360. And i would not recommend ever playing a high detailed game on the 360 with an intercooler ts

i admit, like all open fans, yes it does make some noise, but during game play it does not bother me, and it isn't enough to wake up someone if you have company asleep on your bed.

At times my sister takes naps in the day in my room, and she is a very light sleeper and the noise does not bother her, or much less wake her up.

If you have one of the newer jasper xbox 360s you will be just fine. Even if you do play a long time with the jasper you still shouldnt need this.

The jasper model is the newer 360s and has a smaller CPU and GPU so it runs a lot cooler and quieter. It is sold in any video game store or stores like k mart or target. It looks just like any other xbox 360. To make sure its a Jasper you can ask the clerk to open it up and if the power brick is 150W its a jasper. Or if the systems manufacture date is past october 2008 its most likely a Jasper. Even if you do but an xbox 360 right now without cjecking its still probably going to be a jasper.

im sorry to say that im not EXACTLY sure how it keeps the Xbox cool, but it just does.

After playing for 4 hours of Call of Duty: World at War the Xbox is very very noticeably cooler than not having a cooler at all.

The EX can and more than likely WILL void your warranty due to the lack of an A/C adapter.
