  • @eddpax That she is ! A beautiful lady ... inside and out !

  • Beautiful. One of the best recordings, ever!

  • @copanationdie I have to agree with you...... so happy you enjoyed !!

  • you don't have to dress slutty to get people to watch your music. thanks doris .and you for posting this video

  • A lovely compilation of images of a very special, talented lady (& a great song sung by her, of course). Doris Day is part of what's great about America.

  • A classic sung by a classic.

  • @windstorm1000 So very true !! Happy you enjoyed !

  • Josh - this song is one of my true favorite and when I heard it sung by Doris.. no wonder it is my favorite now.. What a voice..

  • yes Doris is magic for me!

  • @654Geoff She is for me too ... happy you enjoyed !!

  • It is simply wonderful to see and listen to pure CLASS, an item we are certainly missing these days. Doris Day is and will be a benchmark we can use to judge class by. I really long for the days when people took pride in themselves, think of the last function you attended and the number of people attending who looked like slobs, I understand the comfort issue, I really enjoy lounging around the house in ratty atire but come on folks dressed the same way in public! Lets clean ourselves up!

  • @lorenzolait I have to agree with you. I really don't know what is going on in todays world. Where are our morals ?... I think this every time I turn on the tv ... whats going on ? There isn't much "class" left in this world of ours !!

  • @lorenzolait I wholeheartedly agree. I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. and remember when Friday and Saturday nights were the 'Nights Out'. Everyone dressed up, you would not be allowed into a cinema, in town, if you were dressed in jeans and such, much less a restaurant. Where has all the personal pride gone to? If one now dresses correctly, You're 'Out of Place'. I, for one, still dress for the occasion

  • your videos are STUNNING!!! thank you for posting this wonderful, beautiful, talented STAR!

  • @cjm608 I'm so happy you're enjoying some of Doris' great music. Thats the reason I joined yt ... to get her music out there to be enjoyed ! Thank you so much !!

  • @castalia60able I'm so happy you enjoyed this great song from Doris ! Thats the reason I joined yt ... to get her great music out there to be enjoyed !

  • Wonderful. Absolutely. Thank you for posting. But her birthday is 3 April? You posted on 2 April 09 and said 'happy birthday'. Sorry for being pedantic!

  • @PhoenixBird50 Yes - her birthday is April 3rd... I uploaded this video on the 2nd.....so I could wish her a happy birthday and share the video. I'm dayniac4324...her birthdate as my ending. I don't know what you're asking ???

  • @Dayniac4324 wow, a little obsessed maybe?

  • @AvildaAura Maybe a little but certainly a big fan and so am I. Thank you Dayniac. I for one appreciate your DD postings.

  • @H1delta Thank you so much .... I feel a little less "obsessed" now ... just a little though ... lol Happy you've enjoyed ... thanks again !

  • @AvildaAura Who me .... obsessed ?? hahaha .... yes ... yes I am ... I'm a dayniac ! There are an awful lot of us out there ..... you'd be surprised !

  • @PhoenixBird50 Are you seriously serious?? Complaining about the date that the this terrific video was uploaded?? "Pedantic" indeed!! Maybe you've you've been watching too many "Seinfeld" episodes??

  • She IS magic!

  • @dlrunner121 I have to agree with you .... she is !!

  • I suggest the 1948 version - much less overblown and far more sentimental. But this is still great.

  • How did I get here? I came from listening to the hollies, then to Dusty Springfield and then onto Mary Hopkin! Then by chance a similar voice Kathy Kirby! Then I searched up the ever wonderful Doris Day! Magic thanks for uploading.. Is not the the internet fantastic!

  • @Rogerbradly It is .... really amazing ! And thats really the fun of yt ... just go from song to song ... artist to artist ! So much fun ! I'm really happy you enjoyed this great song from Doris !

  • Yup. People use to sing!! And so good!! No filters, no effects! PURE VOICE & True talents in those years......

  • gosh...... that was amazing

  • @ClassicMovieBuff16 It is a beautiful song from Doris... I'm really happy you enjoyed !!

  • what a lovely song

  • who said that shoulder pads and midi skirts in the 80's were not cool. when it was brought back in style because of the 40's and 50's style were made famous to give shapes of confidence in women. Well now the midi skirts are back in style especially in the office which was a big hit in the 8O'S. I love such fashion of classiness.

  • @rubien44 I wore a lot of clothes in the 80s that were definitely influenced by the 40's ! I loved them.

They were really classic styles. Wish those were in again ! Thanks ... loved your comment !!

  • @Dayniac4324 I wouldn't know about that because I wasn't born yet. That would be awesome if we could wear the same clothes! :D

  • @DorisDaygirl97 I bet they'll be around again ... fashion goes in cycles, so much is a repeat with some changes here and there.

  • @Dayniac4324 Actually now they are coming back into fashion, I'm going to wear one to school one day. :)

  • @DorisDaygirl97 I think that would be fun ! You could start the trend !

  • @Dayniac4324 yeah I could! My friends and I are going to wear one to school when we get one. :)

  • no one sings this song aswell as "Doris"

  • @gmapops47 Have to agree with you .... its magic ! Happy you enjoyed !

  • @gmapops47 Doris does it great, but have you heard Jerry Vale sing it. WOW

  • @gmapops47 Have to agree with you !!

  • I use to have many of her albums plus other favorite artists, but I left them all at my mom and stepdads house, they have since passed and they are gone forever..I live in another state now..........wish I had all of my albums to listen too....

  • @lasvegaslady Oh wow ... yes .... what a treasure they would be ! But, I have all my albums and our turntable quit working !!! And we can't afford to replace it or repair it. So - I look at all of my albums and wish I could play them !! Maybe some day !

  • I enjoyed it alright, it has been years since I've listened to her and wow, she delivers a song like no one can......her tone, the way she sings, so beautifully done...my heart is happy to hear her once again.......and I will continue to listen more, thanks to dedicated fans like yourself.......

  • @lasvegaslady I'm happy you've rediscoverd Doris ! I think a lot of people are doing that. She really has one of the best voices ever. I listen to her every day. She really brightens my day. There are a lot of Doris songs here on yt so you will have many to enjoy !! =)

  • Doris Day, such clearityy in her voice.....she sounds so great, nobody like her..

  • @lasvegaslady Have to agree with you ... no one like Doris !! So happy you enjoyed !!

  • Truly romantic.....

Always loved this song, and the way Doris Day sings it..

  • @applespice77 It is a beautiful song. This is a version she did in the early 50's. I like it better than

the one from Romance On the High Seas....although that one was a million seller. Happy you enjoyed !!

  • Doris Day is my idol, I love her, her music/songs, her films... and her love of animals - she's just FAB!!! This is my most favourite song of hers and I agree with the comments above, you don't get talent/clean songs/music like you used to... priceless. Lovely pics too - thanks :o)

  • @mummykinz1 Well... I'm right there with you !! She's an amazing, talented caring lady !

Too bad we don't have this kind of entertainer in todays world !! so happy you enjoyed !

    Thank you !

  • I will never tire of listening to her voice!! She is so unique and no one can come near to her style. She has this amazing ability like others to relax you. I love this era of the 40/50s as they really knew how to sing and guess what the words were clean and wholesome not full of shocking lyrics like most today. I always wonder if these stars like Gloria Swanson in sunset boulevard miss the old days. It must be hard unless they somehow shut it out and carry on working. I love this song. Thanks!

  • @1912cunard They really had talent and class ... I'm with you .. I never get tired of Doris' voice. I know that Doris does not miss the Hollywood scene. She left it far behind and devoted the last 30 + years to animal welfare. She did use her celebrity for something good .. just another thing that shows what true class she has. From what her son Terry said she moved on and never needed to be a "celebrity" to have a full life.

  • one of my all time fave's.

  • @issurchaim It is a great song from Doris ! So happy you enjoyed !!

  • what a fantastic talent..May God Bless Doris Day

and I thank her for all the upbeat songs and movies that made our country a better place to live,,I wish more girls were like her....

  • @mightybeeb I agree with your wonderful comment ! Thank goodness we had stars like Doris who gave us an upbeat and wholesome take on the world ! She certainly made the world a better place. And continues to do so .... thats the really amazing thing about Doris ! Thank you... so happy you enjoyed this !

  • i really love her voice

  • @jermainecutie me too ... guess you could tell that ! lol happy you enjoyed !!

  • My goodness she was marvellous, wasn't she?

  • @kroopak Yes.... she really was ! She's quite amazing ... and a lovely lady too.

Thank you... happy you enjoyed !

  • One of my favorite songs. :)

  • @Gently09 It is a lovely song ... happy you enjoyed !

  • Why can't modern singers be classy and beautiful yet modest like Doris Day? Beyonce could learn a thing or two from her.

  • @KassurinReiChan Well ...I have to agree with you. It seems - in our society today ... there are no secrets ... everything is out there ! Be it movies or music or just everyday life - its out there for all to see ! I get a little tired of it ... but that seems to be the way it is. I think we could all learn from the past. Thank you .... happy you enjoyed !

  • This is a far better cover of the song than the one in "Romance On The High Seas" her voice got stronger in the 1950s and her breath control was better. It's heartbreakingly beautiful.

  • @joeparkson I have to admit - I'm with you on this one. This is my favorite version from Doris. Her voice is much stronger - beautiful interpretation. So happy you enjoyed too !! Thanks!

  • doris rocks! i love this song and especially the movie scene where she sings this song. she just glows. she transcends her own generation, which is a true gift.

  • @kalijuri Great description of Doris ... so very true.Thank you .. I really love your comment !! Happy you enjoyed !

  • Women love her too...I still want to be like her..much admired the inimitable, lovely lady of eternal song, dance, acting, and true love..LADY DORIS DAY...

  • I'm with you there -- I still want to be like her too. She's a hard act to follow though .. what a wonderful lady she is !

Thank you ... happy you enjoyed !

  • This lady was my love over a half century ago. Still love her and her music. Thanks for sharing.

  • Well .. I'm with you there ... love her movies and music !! Thank you ... so happy you enjoyed !

  • I LOVE it! This song is so beautiful ... everything was better back then.

  • Times were certainly different - there were some very difficult things .. but I think people were different and it was a better way to live. At least I think so .. but I was a little kid in the 50's - born in 1953.

Thank you... so happy you enjoyed !!

  • Takes me back more years than I care to remember. Loved it then and love it now. thanks so much for posting it

  • It is a beautiful song from Doris ! Thank you so much for watching ... really happy It brought back some happy memories.

  • oh so sweet love doris xxbabsie hug

  • It is a lovely version of her million seller. I like this one better than the original.

So happy you enjoyed it too !

  • I remember first hearing this song in her movie, Romance on the High Seas. It has been one of my favorites for many, many years.

  • She has so many romantic songs. I love her voice and have about 50 favorites !! Have to agree with you .. she is amazing !

Thank you ... so happy you enjoyed !

  • My sister and I used to play Doris Day cassettes in her old Austin Allegro back in the early 80s. We used to sing along to this track as we drove along, tears rolling down our cheeks. Doris is one helluva special lady!! love Jinette & Ali XX

  • I really love your story ... you brought a great big smile to my face ! What fun !

Thank you for sharing that special memory. Happy you enjoyed this song from Doris. Have a wonderful Christmas !

  • to be honest there isnt a song of doris i ever disliked since the age of 7 when i first seen calamity jane i was hooked .

  • Well - I'm with you there..... been a fan since I was about 10 ! I'm definitely hooked --- but I guess you could tell that !!

    hahaha !!

  • this by far is the best i love it

  • I really like this recording of It's Magic - better than the original one in 1947. It really is wonderful. Thanks for watching... happy you enjoyed !

  • me too and since the world of internet arrived im glad ive found more people like myself who were brought up on doris day the songs and the movies if you seen my dvd and cd collection it wouldnt surprise you lol even have some cds unopened still well worth waiting for .

  • Doris Day is a symbol of all that's good in America, and even more, what is wonderful about the female of the species. I, too, grew up listening to my father playing this song. . .and, swore to myself and anyone who would listen, that this was not my music, not my kind of artist, etc. etc. etc, Now, more years than I care to disclose later, I understand in the core of my being why she, and this particular song, occupied such a dominant place in my fathers heart. I love Doris--what a woman!

  • What a wonderful story - thank you for sharing. I think I was kind of the same way. I loved her music when I was a little kid but then being a teen in the late 60's early 70's rock music definitely took over. As you can tell I've come back to her music. I think this song did mean a lot to many people. The original recording was a million seller. Have to agree with you - she's quite a lady - who's brought much happiness into this old world of ours.

Thanks for your great comment !

  • This was one of my Dad's favourites - it's lovely to hear it again.

  • I'm really happy you enjoyed hearing it again ... and hopefully it brought you some happy memories. Thank you !

  • How mesmerizing! I find myself either

sighing or shedding tears in listening to

Doris Day's voice. She should have been born three or four decades later than she actually was; we could enjoy seeing her

perform on the stage or play various roles. Thanks for posting this clip.

  • She is amazing. Wouldn't that be wonderful to see her in concert or on Broadway ?? Wow ! Have to agree with you it would be wonderful !! Thanks -- so happy you enjoyed !

  • I Have a wide variety in my taste in music but i must say i realy love D.D. singing this song its one of my favourites from this beautiful singer.........T.Y.

  • It really is a great version of the song. I much prefer this one to the original - don't know why ? ! I also have a wide range of music I listen to -- but Doris is my favorite. She's truely amazing. Thank you -- happy you enjoyed !

  • A beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. sadly now something of a recluse ...

  • She is a very lovely lady. I don't know how true those tabloid stories are - in fact they're a bunch of ... well I won't say it.

She's 85 - so I don't know how out there she's supposed to be. On her last birthday radio program on magic63 she sounded terrific ! Even sang a little and sounded wonderful. She's remodeling her home because she had termites or something. She takes care of many animals and she seems to be great !

  • That's a great update - much appreciated!

  • Your welcome - I think those tabloid stories paint her as some strange recluse and from what I hear she isn't that at all ! Thanks again !!

  • this is a beautiful love song..i added it as a main video on my channel!

    thanx 4 posting.

  • Thank you -- I'm so happy you enjoyed ! It is a great Doris song !!!!

  • What was that one comedy movie that Doris Day and Richard Harris was in? It was kind of a comedy/spy type of movie and I can't think of the name of the movie! I watched that particular movie twice! Dog gone it! Somebody help me out before I go crazy!

  • That would be Caprice. She's a spy in the world of perfumes or something like that.

Kind of funny. I haven't seen it for years - I'll have to check it out again !!

  • She was so beautiful. WHAT A CLASSY LADY!

  • god i lv this woman and this song

  • Me too - she's amazing ! Thanks - happy you enjoyed !!

  • This is one of the most impressive renditions of this most beautiful song!! I use it regularly in my radio show here in The Netherlands and it never fails to move the listeners. Do you happen to know which orchestra is accompanying Doris here? Thanks for posting, cheers from Rotterdam!

  • Hi - this is my favorites version that Doris recorded. From the notes in the Bear Family set - Percy Faith - conductor -

    George Van Eps guitar; John H. Ryan bass;Louis Singer drums;Edwin"Buddy" Cole piano;Morris Bercov-Alex Gershunoff-Leonard Hartman-Theodore M. Nash-Wilbur Schwatz sax; Harold Diner-Edward K. Kusby-William Schaefer trombone; Ziggy Elman-George Seaberg-Rubin Zarchy trumpet;Armand Kaproff cello;Alvin Dinkin-Paul Robyn viola

  • And - Harry Bluestone-Samuel Cytron-David Frisna-Jacques Gasselin-George Kast-Murray Kellner-Daniel Lube-Mischa Russell-Gerald Vinci on violin.

    No orchestra name.

  • A great song from Sammy. Classic performance from Miss K.

  • Have to agree with you there ! A great combination !

Thanks - glad you enjoyed !

  • My God,she's magic

  • Have to agree with you !!!

  • God, how I wish that I grew up in the '40s/50s America. So much great music!

    Beautiful version by Doris. :)

  • I really like this version better than her earlier million seller. I was born in 53 - so I was a little kid in the 50's - it was a great time to grow up ! I wish I'd been older so I was more aware of the music. I became an old movie addict at a very young age -- because thats what was on tv !

Thanks -- so glad you enjoyed !

  • really... magic voice!

  • Yes -- she sure has a magic voice !

You are so right !! thanks !

  • Doris is wonderful also as an actress also as a singer.

This music is also my favorite.

Thank you for the beautiful image.

  • Thank you ! I'm so happy you enjoyed this great Doris song !

  • How melodious and mesmerizing! We cannot find any artists who are as splendid as Doris Day,

    I really appreciate this clip.
