Agh! man that happened to me!

I opened an invoice and a month later

the seller had deleted their account.

my account got hacked into but

nothing bad happened. ebay caught it on time and sealed my account until they fixed the problem.

Hello kungfoolai, if you have not yet, You need to conatct LiveHelp at ebay. (IF you can find the link)

Have them re-secure your account.

I would also strongly consider contacting your bank & CC Co to make absolutely sure that eb-PP cannot access your funds (close accs, change numbers etc).

Than I would close out the ebay & PP accounts.

The system(s) are hacked cracked & zombied to the core IMO, no one is safe conducting biz or even using the sites/services.

Typically people respond directly to the email contact info within the body of the auction listing. They are then sent fake invoices/receipts and/or payment instructions.

Whatever you do, if you are using ebay/paypal, Never trust the contents of emails received purporting to be from them. In fact, don't even bother opening them. Always go to your accounts & log in there. If the transactions/communications are are legit, they will be there.

Continuing. There are variations on this scam method which target sellers as well. Sellers are sent offers & fake paypal receipts, asking for shipping confirmation before funds are to be released. Again, do NOT TRUST any emails which appear to come from ebay or PP. Instead, go directly to your account and log in there. Trojans, keyloggers etc have been known to be included in phake/phishing emails, that is why I say not to even bother opening them.

Best advice - avoid ebay-Paypal completely

On the day he first appeared (as 'jimmy.cry') he was loading up to 100 high-value lots per minute, reaching over 60,000(!) listings before eBay managed to stop him. I was one of those watching his activities.
