I also usually run a small 5-cell receiver battery to bypass the BEC of the ESCs because it helped supposedly helped prevent glitching on these older Hacker brushless ESCs but I did not run one in the video above and can't say if that was the reason for the glitching seen or not but I have run successfully with out a receiver pack many times before.
If I were to build another BL Clod, I would look at running a dual Castle Creation Sidwinder ESC and 5700 Mamba motor combo. But any of the mainstream brushless setups (Castle Creations, Traxxas, Novak) would be as good or even better than my older Hacker setup.
im saving up for a clod or a crawler turned fast

Is that a clodzilla conversion?

No it's not a clodzilla. This Clod has a Ripper chassis from Thunder Tech Racing.

Setup is as follows:
2x Hacker Master Car Sport ESC / B50-7s motor
1x 3300mah or 4200mah Nimh battery
standard FM radio and receiver.
