Love my mini 8ight about to get the mini sct this weekend. Check out my vids of the mini 8ights running on indoor carpet track. I will post some of the mini sct soon.
hello RC buggy owner- i wanted to know what changes you must do when you put a lipo in it as an upgrade from the NiMh? or do you just throw it in? thanks for any responce!
@GeneticallySuperior1 I think you have this all wrong. Check out what pro driver Andy Jones said about the mini 8 last weekend. I firmly believe this car will be competitive out of the box, during testing I was on the same pace as a Schumacher CAT SX3 at my local club in Oswestry, England. The driver was Mat Dodd who like me is a regualr Top 30 1/10th Off Road National Driver here in the UK so I'm delighted!
Clearly the video was created on very groomed surfaces if not hard pack & concrete-lol. Doubtful it will really be competitive on a hardcore 1/10 scale track without constant rollovers... Looks like fun for just kicken around at the park & really short grassy areas ...
Do we have any more information on this. ie when it might be out or reviews? It's killing me seeing the same old vids and knowing there are a few in the UK and still no one has put any opinions online. Come on guys in the know bleed us some info please :)
Hmmm... Do u think they would make a losi micro 8ight in the future 1/24 like the sct and rally? Because that would be AWSOME!!!!! Thumbs up if you agree.
Could you please post the rim & tire dimensions HorizonUK? I'm hoping to make the Mini 8ight's work on a 1/16th scale buggy.
On another topic.. why must every company try & make their own frikkin scale.. I expect the target is to & corner the market, but what usually results is reduced sales due to making said RC less compatible, in terms of racing with similar products that're already out there. This in turn causes many to become obsolete in short time. It's both annoying & sad.
I've just pre ordered mine this little thing is the nuts and yes you can use lipo they say 2 /3 cell but I'd stick to 2 to start with as for the racing side of it I'm getting mine purely for the fun factor with 12mm hex's I'd say yes to fitting 10th scale wheels
I've just pre ordered mine this little thing is the nuts and yes you can use lipo they say 2 /3 cell but I'd stick to 2 to start with as for the racing side of it I'm getting mine purely for the fun factor
ive had a micro t a mini dessert buggy they look awesome i may get one soon im gunna upgrade it loads cuz with my losi mini t every time i drove it in my back garden it jumped and broke its diff
Iv been in RC all my life. Its good to see Losi trucking along with the smaller scale vehicles. It keeps the hobby adorable. I very much see this model becoming popular. Pretty sure there will be an 8ight-T. This lil thing with some aftermarkets will be a blast and very race-able. This chassis can easily be for onroad or offroad. Sweeeet...
I Love the idea, but 1/14 scale? Why not 1/16? Makes a bit more sense, and you could even call it the Half 8ight if you wanted, and the 1/18 system? Alittle small for a 1/14?
The micro SCT has over heating problems because of the bound drive train and same sized electronics as a Micro-T. Too small of a motor for the truck. I fear it maybe the same with the Mini 8ight.
i'm not so much impressed with the buggy as with the camera work. Whoever worked the camer/s did a fine job, some shots look super stable a really well executed. top work camera person. Oww yeah amd yep, the buggy looks great also ;)
this car looks awesome! im going to preorder one soon. does anyone know if 1/10 scale tires will fit on this buggy? and does anyone know the name of this song? its awesome!
this seems about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike ...where can these be raced? not with 1/16 and 1/18 and not with 1/10 ....have you badged it wrong like the gt14b carisma which is actually 1/16 and is labled as so on all boxes now ??
@TEAMBLACKCOUNTRY Most RC's sold on the market aren't raced. With that in mind, this should be a super fun vehicle to drive indoors and out. Eighth scale performance in a mini package is sure to be popular. The 1/16th scale class was created fairly recently with the release of the Traxxas vehicles, and the same is likely to happen for this 1/14th scale (if it is different sized than 1/16th scale). Many eighth-scale enthusiasts will likely be purchasing these along with the mini enthusiasts.
the 1/16 and 1/18 cl;asses for racing have been going for years mate ..the rc18 mini t m18t lrp shark ftx blaze etc are all racing even the carisma gt14b is actually a 1/16 in size despite the japanese getting it wrong when labelling it ...the 1/14 thing is just to compete with the carisma and that is classed by the racing community and the brca as a 1/16 so thats all good it will be able to compete with carismas and sharks now .......1/14 is truley off putting when its actually 1/16
@TEAMBLACKCOUNTRY Yes I agree that minis and 1/18th scale racing have been around for a long time, but 1/16th racing didn't take off until a year or two ago (atleast in the US). The scales can get confusing amongst companies, and I'm curious to see how the mini 8ight compares sizewise to traxxas 1/16th vehicles. I get what you're saying about them labeling it 1/14th scale to compete with Carismas and Sharks.
@TEAMBLACKCOUNTRY I did forget also that your location is in the UK... mini scene is fairly different between the U.S. and U.K. The 1/18th popularity died of around three years ago in the U.S. and never regained popularity, with the exception of the losi mini lineup. The Traxxas 1/16th scale lineup truly started the "larger" mini scene, and now this mini 8ight brings true mini performance to the U.S. where Charismas, Sharks, and many other brands of minis are rarely seen. I'm excited!
