First off yvandubois44252; this was back when Sultry Sarah was Governor of The Great Land and I worked in the AK PFD, she was pretty much the only female we could get away with having plastered on our monitors (with the exceptions of family and friends).
As for my religion, everybody has one. Even if you don't believe in any religion, there's a religion for that too. lol. And no, I don't believe the earth is flat; but I do believe that once it had no form at all. Just my two cents.
By the way, FYI; I still use G-parted and it works better than ever. This is an invaluable tool and if you capable of downloading and burning a disk, you should get it and keep it around.
For example, I keep a can of "Flat Tire Fix" in my trunk, and have seldom needed one; BUT when I do need it, it is there. Same thing with G-parted, it's a good thing to have hanging around in case of emergency, lol.
You can't use a fake email, as you have to check it to register for the forum. However, you can use something like hushmail (dot com of course) where you can register for an email without divulging any personal information.
A side benefit is that the hushmail address will be deleted if you don't use it for a month. So there's absolutely no chance you'll ever get spam from it.
Thanx for the 411 trlkly, when I made these videos I wasn't aware of hushmail, but I do use it now. For those whom desire a really secure e-mail client, hushmail fits the bill.
I know this reply is a little late, but here is what has worked for me. When it gives you the choice of what range to choose, DON"T choose "automatic" or "keep this range"; instead pick a low range that you know will work. Say, 800 x 600; now it should work. Yes the screen may be large and only 16 colors, but it is enough to allow you to get the work done.
Oh God, I can't partition my Ubuntu drive to make an Xubuntu option for dual booting - I don't want to use 'sudo aptitude install xubuntu-desktop', I don't want conflicting libraries from GNOME...
My apologies for taking so long to reply, I have been deep in the Alaska wilderness and unreachable.
Now, here is my two cents on your issue. Frankly, I wouldn't do it. Ubuntu and Xubuntu are going to have conflicting issues, not to mention the chance for human error; when applying upgrades or fixes to the wrong version.
I would suggest you pick and Ubuntu and stick with it, then use a 25 GB slice for Open Solaris or Belenix.
I appreciate the comments. Sorry to take so long to reply, but I have been living deep in the Alaska wilderness and no where near and internet or even cell service.
I encourage you to do a tutorial on something you like. It's really easy, once you get going and a joy to experience.
Hi Laoch111, the polar bears were a little further north than I, but they are up there all right. I want to make new tutorials, but don't have the resources that I had at that time, besides, people have evolved in their computing abilities. I recall when Windows first came out, people were skeptical that it could do what DOS could do; but look at it today, its reasonably robust.
G-parted has improved greatly as well, simply a great tool.
WHAT DOES THIS DO EXACTLY? i found this video because my local disk c is getting too full and i heard you can do something to resize it.does this program help my problem?
G-parted does a lot of things. I use it primarily for resizing partitions. Go to the G-parted site and you will find tons of useful data. This is one of the easiest tools to learn about and use.
sorry I took so long to reply, I have been remote in the Alaska wilderness and away from any internet.
G-parted, parts your drive for you. Along with many other functions, it resizes/creates/deletes.
You mention resizing, reboot Windows after each step...let Windows do what it wants, just let it run each time. Then when it has done whatever; continue to the next step.
I bet there is tons of stuff you can burn to dvd/cd and give up some hdd space.
Why do you have a motherfucking wallpaper of Sarah Palin?
Since you believe so much in religion, do you believe the earth is flat?

It must have been cool living in the Alaskan wilderness. Any polar bears around? :)
Are you making any new tutorials?
Cheers.

@goodecarlton Better late than never. ^_~
Perhaps you could make tutorials some time in the future. I use GNU/Linux (Ubuntu), you should give it a try.

Good Basic info on how to use Gparted, was very helpfull

Glad it was helpful. There is tons of good advice on their website and forum as well. Have fun.

I thought gparted was a commandline-only tool. It now comes with a nice GUI. There's no need to pirate Partition magic anymore guys.
Your assistant has a really nice voice. Good tips about the password and the paper clip, and you repeat them in all your videos. But then, why not.

I have used similar programs for years and the gui's never worked properly. I was extremely pleased that G-Parted worked so well.
My assistant was my housemates girlfriend, from Sitka, Alaska. She just got her degree in International Relations from Brown. Her name is Sarah.
Dang, is there anything a paper clip can't do. lol One of the most versitle tools ever invented. lol
Enjoy using G-Parted, it really works!

Have fun!
