I never really remembered what had happened unless id done something and got hurt. which did happen on occasion! I remember this one time when I was in like yr 2 (well i dont really remember but ive been told about it) and i had like 5 or 6 in the space of 1 hour, i was in class and aparently every time 1 had 1 i would ask the teacher the time and somthin else and in the end she shouted at me. i have a vague memory of her apoligising the next day but everythin else is what ive bin told.

IN response to akiratrooper, I know what it's like not to be believed at school. IN exactly the circumstances as the advert, I had a seizure in a maths lesson, and I staggered to the door and was told off by my teacher. It wasn't until a couple of other people in the class shouted 'Miss, he's having a fit'. She stepped back and realized she was in trouble, and didn't seem to think a great deal of me whacking my head on the bin as I fell over.

i used to have absences all the time i grew out of them well actually i kind fell out of them it was my 7th bday and i was at school had a masive 1 fell and didnt have another 1 for 4 years. i only got them back after i had brain surgery and another 3 yrs on from that they have gone again.

I had those seizures but after two years of treatment I'm finally rid of them! The worst was not knowing what was wrong with me. Needless to say the teachers thought I just didn't have breakfast that morning... After 12 years a doctor finally diagnosed me. But it's not just staring into space, it's much more than that, it's dangerous to space out when you're driving or crossing the road, cooking, walking, going to a job interview... not funny...he he he

I agree that absence seizure is not an intro for a major one since I have yet to see a video showing that except mine. I am lucky if I dont have a simple seizure in a week but this year I am unlucky because I had 1 major.

I have absence seizures quite often before my success in spacing out my medication, and no major seizures folled. So that's not always the case....but hey everyone is different and some cases are more extreme than others.

What's actually somewhat humourous is one time I had one at the Neurologists, and she was like "Do you know what your feeling when you have a tonic clonic? Are you able to function?" then I was like, "funny you should ask, because I just had one", then she was like, "really, I didn't even notice(and she has seen a lot of cases)

tonic clonic seizure: n a tonic-clonic seizure, the person loses consciousness, the body stiffens, and then they fall to the ground. This is followed by jerking movements. After a minute or two, the jerking movements usually stop and consciousness slowly returns.

I apologize if I sounded intrusive but how long did you have epilepsy and how often did you a have seizure? Did medications help you stop or minimize your seziures? What would you suggest I should try after having GM seizures for over 10 years. The authorities are always given the easy way out. I have epilepsy and when I had a seizure the cops thought I was on drugs. My Dad said I was shaking and the cops grabbed me and told me to stop resisting. My shaking made one of my arms fly out and bump an officer. To them, that's assault. My Dad tried to help by explaining, but they cuffed him for interfering. My Dad spent the night in jail, I got put on probation for assault, and the police went on with their jobs.

Cops thought I was acting out, unresponsive and physicaly shaking because of drug overdose. Guess What? Lucy me, my friends convinced the Cops I'm Epileptic and having seizures. In the end, thank you to my friends I ended up in Hospital ER and got treated for my seziures. It looks like one is a suspect before one could be an innocent victim of Epilepsy.
