I bet tht teacher feels like a dumb ass after tht I have tht u should have seen my science teachers face when he found out I had tht and im 13 haha it looked just like his face... Some good info people
this is just an informative clip people. This is not a "real" teacher. This teacher did not get "schooled". My goodness....people really aren't very smart out there!!
my teacher wont even believe my doctor that i have epilepsy because he says what most seizures look like is the only type i dont get all shaky or anything i just space out
my best friend deaf girl have that epliepsy and she didnt remember few min then wake up...until she told us ...we said why never tell me before ..she said scary wont make fun of her..we never knew that ..we did laugh at her the way her behavior until she told us ...we didnt realized .
yeahh .. just like in real-life people respect you when you have absence. I have it and people are always making fun of me and they don't really believe that this is epilepsy, they think i'm just making fun .. I hate them so much when they say I'm scary while they're laughing !!!!
To be fair, absent seizures seem very ambiguous and have often been confused with lack of paying attention. I'm assuming the kid knew her and knew she had epilepsy.
I never really remembered what had happened unless id done something and got hurt. which did happen on occasion! I remember this one time when I was in like yr 2 (well i dont really remember but ive been told about it) and i had like 5 or 6 in the space of 1 hour, i was in class and aparently every time 1 had 1 i would ask the teacher the time and somthin else and in the end she shouted at me. i have a vague memory of her apoligising the next day but everythin else is what ive bin told.
IN response to akiratrooper, I know what it's like not to be believed at school. IN exactly the circumstances as the advert, I had a seizure in a maths lesson, and I staggered to the door and was told off by my teacher. It wasn't until a couple of other people in the class shouted 'Miss, he's having a fit'. She stepped back and realized she was in trouble, and didn't seem to think a great deal of me whacking my head on the bin as I fell over.
Me too. It's annoying, frustrating, embarrassing, exhausting, etc. I've got 4 kids to raise. I HAVE to function through my dozens upon dozens of absence seizures on my "bad days".
rite in the middle of science class i totally went numb..my arms and lgs froze n i was twitching and shaking..i couldn't breath n i had high heart rate n blood pressure i gotta eeg n they said im not prone 2 seizures..any1 got ideas? message me!
thats not acctually a seizure its just a like a day dream one well it is a seizure but not a proper one shes jst that far away that she dunt know wats happeing.
i used to have absences all the time i grew out of them well actually i kind fell out of them it was my 7th bday and i was at school had a masive 1 fell and didnt have another 1 for 4 years. i only got them back after i had brain surgery and another 3 yrs on from that they have gone again.
well something happened today...this lady kinda...had a siezure...she jus dropped dead hard on the floor.. she was shakin alot and holding her throat screamin and stuff...it was at my sckool...is dat a siezure?
im epileptic and my neurologist apparently writes about me in her book as a odd case study x.x aparently when i was younger during an eeg i had 125ish seisures in 5 hours... or something like that
the're still people, they have feelings and judgemnt just like us. You should feel bad for them and treat them like normal people. Thats basically all they want in their life is to be accepted. But no, there are people like you in the world that think your better than them, Well I'd rather hang out with a developmentally disabled person any day than with you, Asshole.

I had those seizures but after two years of treatment I'm finally rid of them! The worst was not knowing what was wrong with me. Needless to say the teachers thought I just didn't have breakfast that morning... After 12 years a doctor finally diagnosed me. But it's not just staring into space, it's much more than that, it's dangerous to space out when you're driving or crossing the road, cooking, walking, going to a job interview... not funny...he he he
awesome???????????????????????? u r an idiot!!!!!! we are not gay!!!!! we are NORMAL. all u did now was to reveal ur ignorance and meanness. so dissapear from here!! u are a freak
I agree that absence seizure is not an intro for a major one since I have yet to see a video showing that except mine. I am lucky if I dont have a simple seizure in a week but this year I am unlucky because I had 1 major.
I have absence seizures quite often before my success in spacing out my medication, and no major seizures folled. So that's not always the case....but hey everyone is different and some cases are more extreme than others.
This I call pre empted absence seizure and glad that the major one did not follow. Had it followed, then this is the only video that I would have seen with absence seizure prior to a major seizure just like mine.
What's actually somewhat humourous is one time I had one at the Neurologists, and she was like "Do you know what your feeling when you have a tonic clonic? Are you able to function?" then I was like, "funny you should ask, because I just had one", then she was like, "really, I didn't even notice(and she has seen a lot of cases)
tonic clonic seizure: n a tonic-clonic seizure, the person loses consciousness, the body stiffens, and then they fall to the ground. This is followed by jerking movements. After a minute or two, the jerking movements usually stop and consciousness slowly returns.
So, what you're telling us is you fell to ground infront of your neurologist, shook for 1-5 mins & she couldn't even tell? I think you need a new neurologist..
I have seizures like this quite often. I'm actually kind of glad to see what I would look like, I've been told that my left arm starts floating(not significantly, but noticeably) as a sign that I'm about to have one
Can you please help me stop my seizures by writing letters on my behalf to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California to intervene on my behalf in expediting my Medical application, therefore, I could have my brain surgery to stop my seizures and live as normal life as I always had before being struck with endless Grand Mal seizures.
Are these vids now places for emo epileptics to cry and discuss about their weird sickness? Get the fuck out and search yourself another place to suck each others mental cock
Let's move on to the actual content of the video instead of wasting our time on one uneducated person. This video is short, but very informative and powerful. It should be a requirement for all teachers and those in charge of children to take a class to learn how to recognize seizures.
I apologize if I sounded intrusive but how long did you have epilepsy and how often did you a have seizure? Did medications help you stop or minimize your seziures? Just like Alcoholics Anonymous, why isn't the Epilepsy Foundation available any where in USA, except designate areas? Who finances the EFA? Besides dispensing redudant self-serving brochures, how, what, where and when did the EFA helped any victim of Epilepsy since it ever came to happen around? I wonder, if the EFA have any idea that victims of seizures are losing every thing they have ever earned for persistent seizures? WHERE'S THE HELP?
I had a seizure at school during break and although the teachers knew what was happening 2 of them who were in about their 30's let an older man and a pregnant woman deal with it. Scaredycats!
No, I bet your story is true. I was talkinga bout the vid. Police just love to over react to everything. They drive me crazy. I once knew this police-officer-in-training, and he just went around waiting for someone to mess up so he could arrest them or smack them around with his baton. Any excuse to excercise their "power"
The authorities are always given the easy way out. I have epilepsy and when I had a seizure the cops thought I was on drugs. My Dad said I was shaking and the cops grabbed me and told me to stop resisting. My shaking made one of my arms fly out and bump an officer. To them, that's assault. My Dad tried to help by explaining, but they cuffed him for interfering. My Dad spent the night in jail, I got put on probation for assault, and the police went on with their jobs.
How would you feel if you woke up after a seizure in handcuffs, and find you're being charged for assault, and resisting arrest? (seizure made me shake, and they told me to stop)
thats becuz police are racist drunk irish bastards who have no dick and blame everything on drugs because they still think jesus will strike u down for smoking weed no offense, to irish ppl im 1
haha, when i had my first grand mal they even confiscated my bottle of water that i had been drinking to test it. they assumed i had to have put some kind of drug in it.
but thats a pretty shitty story.. cops are assholes.
Cops thought I was acting out, unresponsive and physicaly shaking because of drug overdose. Guess What? Lucy me, my friends convinced the Cops I'm Epileptic and having seizures. In the end, thank you to my friends I ended up in Hospital ER and got treated for my seziures. It looks like one is a suspect before one could be an innocent victim of Epilepsy. SAD IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY!!!
Please visit myseizures@youtube but watching this video may disturb you. With heartfelt apology, thanks for watching my video & for your understanding of my 10 years struggle with my Endless Grand Mal Epileptic Seizures. Recorded on Jan 13,2007 at Stanford Univerty Neurology Department, Stanford Hospital, (Palo Alto) Ca. USA.
I actually had the same kind of seizure, but I think mine was a little different than hers but the same kind haha. Now though.. I dont think I have them anymore but you'll never know hehe.
one of my friends has it...poor nut actually...our teacher cant understand it, screams at him every time its happening... his grades with this teacher are so bad...just because of epilepsy...but thanks for the clip
Interesting... that's a usual pattern of a petit mal seizure and the also usual respond they get in the classroom for daydreaming... I've never seen one before, but thanks for the clip =P
